These officers are in the middle of a police escort, but they’re not guarding a VIP or a shipment of cash. They’re protecting trucks full of avocados. That’s because this stretch of highway in Mexico has become quite dangerous, with criminal activity in pursuit of avocados destined for the U.S.

Texas has resumed building a wall along the state’s border with Mexico, after months of negotiations with private property owners. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott boasted about building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border on Sunday, posting a video on social media of the wall being constructed. “Texas is building our own border wall,” the governor tweeted. The video that accompanied the tweet showed a crane maneuvering a section of wall in line with several other panels, and workers plugging it into place. In the forefront was Abbot sitting next to a sign that read, “Securing the border.” […] The border...

393,942 views Feb 5, 2023 Last week I talked about the enduring strengths of the Russian armed forces and their ability to launch offensives and apply pressure in Ukraine. Faced with that pressure, Ukraine's ability to carry on the fight will be driven not just by its own determination, but by the flow of weapons and assistance from its allies abroad. Aid to Ukraine has evolved dramatically since February 2022, and there are few topics that have attracted more constant press coverage away from the battlefield itself. So today I try and set out how aid has evolved, who the...

Nearly six months after he was stabbed during a lecture in New York, author Salman Rushdie will be publishing a new book, “Victory City”, on Tuesday, Reuters reports. Rushdie, 75, was blinded in his right eye and his left hand was badly injured by the stabbing. After the attack, Rushdie was treated at a Pennsylvania hospital, where he was briefly put on a ventilator, his agent said last October. Rushdie's upcoming 15th novel will be published by Penguin Random House and takes the form of a translation of a mythical epic originally written in Sanskrit about the Vijayanagara Empire that...

I'm still flat on my back. The pressure sores that sent me to the hospital are almost healed, but still too painful for me to spend much time in my power chair, so I spend all my time in bed. The nurse says the wounds are now just superficial, and should be healed very soon. I do have a new spot on my bottom and on my back, but they haven't become sores yet. Hoping to spend more time in my chair each day until completely healed and to prevent more sores on my back. My hands and arms are...

Chinese state-owned television aired footage of a high-altitude balloon dropping hypersonic weapons in 2018. The stunning footage displays a high-altitude balloon, not dissimilar from the one that traversed over the United States last week, carrying three hypersonic glide vehicles (HGVs) into high altitude and dropping them for testing. Chinese state broadcaster CCTV reported on the weapons test in September 2018. The footage has since been deleted from Chinese media, but photographs and short clips can still be found online. In one post from 2018, a Twitter user shared footage from Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, which shows the balloon lifting...

CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) – An 8-year-old boy in California has woken up from a medically-induced coma after sustaining a brain injury on a trampoline last week. His entire school came together to show their support for him while he is in the hospital. Leeland Korman was jumping on a trampoline with his sister last week when their heads collided. Leeland didn’t have a scratch on him, but he did have a headache. “When he laid down for bedtime, they realized some much more severe issues. At that time, they rushed him in,” said his third grade teacher Melanie Lupica who...

NY state's hospital data of fully-vaxxed adults and children is incriminating evidence that the COVID-19 injections are bioweapons and the cause of severe COVID-19 disease and hospitalizations. ... Data from Pfizer, the FDA, and the Cleveland Clinic demonstrate that the COVID-19 mRNA injections increase the for risk COVID-19 infection, and therefore can increase the risk for severe COVID-19 disease and hospitalizations due to VAERD (vaccine-associated enhanced disease). If we follow the science and real-world evidence, this means that the mRNA injections themselves pose a threat to public safety and should be removed from communities to avoid the risk of overwhelming...

Success of enuresis alarm can be ID'd after two weeks of therapy Children with a likelihood of enuresis alarm treatment success can be identified from two weeks of treatment, according to a study. Jens Larsson, R.N. and colleagues examined predictors of enuresis alarm response in a setting reflecting clinical reality. Children with enuresis managed at pediatric outpatient wards were provided with an alarm linked to a smartphone app. Therapy was given for eight to 12 weeks or until achievement of 14 consecutive dry nights. Of the 196 recruited children, 18.4 percent were full responders, 20.4 percent were partial responders, 22.4...

According to the findings of randomized controlled trials, blood lipid levels in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) can be significantly decreased through a combination of pitavastatin and ezetimibe; however, the effects and clinical applications of this treatment remain controversial. An article objectively assesses the efficacy and safety of pitavastatin and ezetimibe in lowering blood lipid levels. Relevant studies were retrieved from electronic databases. The levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, total cholesterol, triglycerides, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol in patients' serum after treatment were the primary endpoint. Nine randomized controlled trials (2586 patients) met the inclusion criteria. The meta-analysis indicated that...

To date, health authorities in Mexico’s largely rural Durango state have documented 79 meningitis cases over the past few months. Meningitis is typically associated with painful inflammation of the brain and spinal cord, often caused by a virus or in some cases bacteria or a fungal infection. The first case of meningitis in Durango was confirmed late last year when doctors diagnosed several cases of aseptic meningitis, an especially harmful inflammation of the brain. The infected patients in Durango had all been subjected to surgeries that used spinal anesthesia in private hospitals in the sprawling state’s capital...

I’m sure you know there’s a massive egg shortage and egg farms keep burning down all over America. Eggs are now over $10 per dozen in many places. Among people who received more intensive treatment for high blood pressure, evaluations of MRI scans indicated a positive change in brain structures involved in its ability to clear toxins and other byproducts. The study is the first to examine whether intensive blood pressure treatment may slow, or reverse structural changes related to the volume of the brain's perivascular spaces, areas of the brain around the blood vessels that are involved in the clearance of toxins and other byproducts. "If the brain cannot properly clear toxins and metabolic byproducts, they will accumulate and may contribute to the development of dementia," said...

Recently, Castro was called out to a house that had been experiencing damage from a local woodpecker. The bird, as they’re wont to do, had taken to creating holes in the home’s siding — holes in which to store food for later eating. In this case, that food was mostly acorns. But unfortunately for all involved, the acorns weren’t staying put. Instead, they were falling into the empty cavities inside the walls. Castro knew he’d find some acorns as he cut into the wall to dig them out. But what he wasn’t expecting was this: Castro opened more holes around...

The Biden administration is handing out flyers to our Border Patrol agents which are labeled as ‘Black Resistance’ and covered in terms like ‘black power’ and ‘Black Lives Matter.’ This is a perfect example of the priorities of the Biden admin. They care more about spreading their ‘woke’ progressive talking points than they do about protecting our southern border. The Washington Free Beacon reports: Biden Admin Distributes ‘Black Resistance’ Flyers to Border Agents The Biden administration distributed “Black Resistance” flyers to U.S. Border Patrol agents that celebrated the Black Lives Matter movement and anti-American activist Colin Kaepernick, causing a stir...

On January 6th, 2021, the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team was the team that entered the Capitol Building after the protesters did. The Hostage Rescue Team (HRT), comprised of 350 people, was established in 1983 as a counterterrorism unit at the National level and has given law enforcement agencies in the United States a “tactical” option, a military option, for the most extraordinary cases they face. The Hostage Rescue Team was initially formed as a domestic counterterrorism unit; however, after the 9/11 attacks, the team expanded its mission and began to cooperate with the Joint Special Operations Command overseas in highly-publicized...
