What is your assessment of the situation right now on the ground in Bahkmut and going forward as we enter this winter phase of this proxy war...

Saxo Bank’s “outrageous predictions” for 2023 include a ban on meat production, skyrocketing gold prices and Britain voting to “un-Brexit.” The Danish bank’s annual report, published earlier this month, expects global economies to shift into “war economy” mode, “where sovereign economic gains and self-reliance trump globalisation.” The forecasts, while not representative of the bank’s official views, looked at how decisions from policymakers next year could impact both the global economy and the political agenda. Gold to hit $3,000Among the bank’s “outrageous” calls for next year, Saxo Head of Commodity Strategy Ole Hansen predicted the price of spot gold could exceed...

Host of the “WokeAF”podcast Danielle Moodie-Mills said Saturday on MSNBC’s “Symone” that if former President Donald Trump is not indicted, it will turn the United States into a “banana republic.” Moodie-Mills said “I think what we saw from the bipartisan January 6 House Committee is, in fact, a thorough investigation and using Trump’s own people, in their own words, to lay out exactly the fact that, guess what, this was not just an act of happenstance, of people gettin caught up in the moment, that this was a plan, a strategic attack on our Capitol building and our democracy directed...

-Moscow is ready to resume gas supplies to Europe through the Yamal-Europe Pipeline, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told state TASS news agency. "The European market remains relevant, as the gas shortage persists, and we have every opportunity to resume supplies," TASS cited Novak as saying in remarks published by the agency on Sunday. "For example, the Yamal-Europe Pipeline, which was stopped for political reasons, remains unused." The Yamal-Europe Pipeline usually flows westward, but has been mostly reversed since December of 2021 as Poland turned away from buying from Russia in favour of drawing on stored gas in Germany.

I am pretty technical, and I have performed troubleshooting for some time in multiple industries and with multiple technologies. One of my first rules for troubleshooting any problem is scope. What is the scope of the problem? To really understand the scope, you must have clarity on the problem. Maricopa County has now admitted there was an issue or issues on election day 2022, and they are undertaking a root cause analysis. The question I did not hear is: a root cause analysis of what problem(s)? Given the admission of issues, I will frame my problem statement this way: Were...

On Christmas Eve, most people are probably focused on Christmas. But not Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), who can’t seem to stop embarrassing himself with his Twitter rants. But this time, his tweets exposed just how empty and partisan the Jan. 6 Committee’s “investigation” has been. He did that as he tried to attack Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).Ignoring her actual role in fomenting it, she obviously didn’t read the report. Side note: The only person with the ability to deploy the DC Guard? The President and Secretary of the Army. Not the mayor, not the speaker. https://t.co/KcOtLzkbzH— Adam Kinzinger #fella...

[EXCERPT ONLY] In 2009, on a grant from the John Templeton Foundation, the Browns flew to Mozambique to investigate the healing claims of Global Awakening and Iris Global, two ministries focused on healing and revival. They brought audiometry equipment and eye charts to test people who requested prayer for deafness and blindness. The sample size was small — they tested 24 people — but they found statistically significant improvement beyond placebo effects and hypnosis. “I was standing right there next to this woman who could not tell how many fingers were held up when you were a foot in front...

The United States Census Bureau released data on Thursday revealing the states that experienced both population growth and decline. According to a press release, Texas was the largest-gaining state in the U.S., surpassing the 30 million population mark due to net domestic migration, net international migration, and natural increase. Meanwhile, Florida’s 1.9 percent population increase made it the fastest-growing state in the nation. In terms of population decline, Census Bureau data show 18 states experienced a decline, with California topping the list. The single biggest factor in this population decline was because of “domestic outmigration.” Increasing by 470,708 people since...

The well-documented woes that plague our government-run k-12 schools are now infecting our colleges. Students are arriving at universities woefully unprepared with the skills that are needed to tackle the rigors of upper-level education.Of late, the downward k-12 spiral is a result of the lengthy and absolutely pointless Covid shutdowns, as well as many schools’ penchant for drifting away from the traditional 3 Rs and focusing instead on a heavily politicized curriculum. As a result, student learning has taken a big hit.A recent survey informs us just how dire the situation is. While 87% of college students answered that at...

With Jeffrey Epstein dead, David Brock may be the slimiest of the Clinton friends still left standing. Brock started out in conservative politics writing hit pieces about Hillary. Then he became the craziest Clinton defender around.Brock claimed that the New York Times was a “megaphone for conservative propaganda”. “As it concerns Clinton coverage, the Times will have a special place in hell,” he ranted. It’s easy to dismiss Brock as a nutjob. There were reports that he feared right-wing snipers were coming after him. But there’s also little doubt that America Bridge and Media Matters, the organizations he created, remains quite influential,...

Left-wing activist and filmmaker Michael Moore said Saturday on MSNBC’s “Alex Witt Reports” that Republican House members infighting over leadership is “proof that there is a God in heaven.” Witt said, “I wanted to ask you, regarding the tit-for-tat kind of fighting that’s underway in the Republican party—the controversial far-right congresswoman, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, they have been taking these swipes at each other over Kevin McCarthy’s bid for House speaker.”

“‘He goes and sells all that he has and buys that field . . . and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it’” (Matthew 13:44, 46). There is no preset formula for turning from sin and by faith embracing Christ’s kingdom. A person does not have to perform certain rituals to become a Christian, and he or she can come from a variety of circumstances. In each parable referred to here, a man finds something of huge value and sacrifices all to possess it. But in the first parable...

Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that the electoral college “has become a danger not just to democracy, but to the American people.” Partial transcript as follows: MARGARET BRENNAN: This is an incredible body of work, all coming to this conclusion now, what do you think Americans at home need to know? RASKIN: It’s a story of some real villainy and some real danger to democracy, but also of real heroism and commitment to American democratic freedom. And with democracy under attack all over the world, like with Putin invading Ukraine, and the Ukrainian people...

Ukrainians usually celebrate Christmas on Jan. 7, as do the Russians. But not this year, or at least not all of them. Some Orthodox Ukrainians have decided to observe Christmas on Dec. 25, like many Christians around the world. Yes, this has to do with the war, and yes, they have the blessing of their local church. The idea of commemorating the birth of Jesus in December was considered radical in Ukraine until recently, but Russia's invasion changed many hearts and minds. In October, the leadership of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, which is not aligned with the Russian church...

Explanation: Asteroid 3200 Phaethon's annual gift to planet Earth always arrives in December. Otherwise known as the Geminid meteor shower, the source of the meteroid stream is dust shed along the orbit of the mysterious asteroid. Near the December 13/14 peak of the shower's activity, geminid meteors are captured in this night skyscape, composited from 22 images of starry sky taken before the moon rose over Monument Valley in the American southwest. The bright stars near the position of the shower's radiant are the constellation Gemini's twin stars Castor (blue) and Pollux (yellow). As Earth sweeps through the dusty stream,...
