PHOENIX, Ariz. – Former television newscaster and failed Republican candidate for governor Kari Lake hinted at violence to a crowd of thousands of conservative activists Sunday, continuing her claim that she had really won last month. “On Nov. 8, they committed highway robbery,” she said, to chants of “Kari! Kari!” Lake, who has sued elections administrators alleging fraud, called the Maricopa County elections system a “house of cards” that she promised to take down. “I’m not just going to knock that house of cards over. We’re going to burn it to the ground,” she said. “They messed with the wrong...

Finally, my unvaxxed self caught COVID about two weeks ago, and the meeting was uneventful. Horror stories I’d heard seemed even more remote and fictional as I experienced symptoms like a very mild flu. 3 or 4 days cleared it up. I’ve had colds lasting longer. I’m more convinced than ever that going to an ER and getting admitted is the death sentence.

New battle lines are being drawn in the US by a right-wing Christian movement set on what it sees as its divine mission - to spread its beliefs and messages using political power. So what is Christian nationalism and why is it flourishing now?/... ...God and country is one of the oldest and most influential currents in US politics. It ebbs and flows throughout American history. It's at high tide now because conservative Christians feel they're on the losing end of demographic and cultural changes. .... ...What's different now about such Christian political activism is that the country is no...

The Biden White House has so far remained silent as it weighs whether to block the release of a trove of documents from the Obama administration that may contain information about Hunter Biden's relationship with the Ukrainian energy company Burisma. The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) informed the White House on Nov. 30 that it will soon release nearly 300 email messages in response to Freedom of Information of Act (FOIA) requests for emails that contain the word "Burisma," Insider reported. The Biden administration may stop the release of these records by invoking executive privilege, but the White House...

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — A Republican state senator who once led Oregon’s GOP party, and who railed against pandemic safety measures, Democratic senators and even members of his own party, has abruptly resigned as a lawmaker. And so ends, at least for now, the stormy political career of Sen. Dallas Heard, a lawmaker from rural southwest Oregon who said Thursday that his resignation is effective on Jan. 1, in the middle of his four-year term.... ...Oregon state Rep. David Brock Smith, a Republican from southwest Oregon, said Friday that he wants to succeed Heard....

WASHINGTON (AP) — For two years, Becky Mourey pushed the Food and Drug Administration to approve an experimental drug for her Lou Gehrig’s disease. She went to members of Congress and health regulators to make the case for Relyvrio, until patient-advocates finally prevailed. In September, Relyvrio became only the third drug approved in the U.S. for ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, an incurable neurodegenerative disease that is usually fatal within five years. But patients and physicians who celebrated Relyvrio’s approval several months ago are now contending with the obstacles posed by the U.S. health care system. Their odyssey is an...

Ronna McDaniel’s path to another two-year term leading the Republican National Committee faces a major obstacle: Some of the loudest voices in the conservative movement are calling for her to go. . . . . Since the midterms, RNC members say their inboxes have been clogged with hundreds of emails each week — and the uproar has now turned to the RNC’s spending on events, private travel, luxury accommodations and other expenses in an election cycle that didn’t deliver strong GOP wins. McDaniel’s top opponent is Harmeet Dhillon, an RNC committeewoman from California and election law attorney who has represented...

Much of the United States will either get a White Christmas or a bitterly cold one, as the forecasts for the country see snowstorms and temperatures in the deep south as low as the 20s. Forecasters are warning of treacherous holiday travel and life-threatening cold for much of the nation as an arctic air mass blows into the already-frigid southern United States, with experts predicting the 'coldest Christmas in years.' The coming week has the potential for 'the coldest air of the season' as the strong artic front marches across the eastern two-thirds of the country in the days before...

The new mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, said Sunday her administration will start moving homeless people from tent encampments into hotels and motels through a new program that launches Tuesday. […] On her first day as mayor of Los Angeles, Bass declared a state of emergency on homelessness. She vowed to get people housed and more housing built so that residents can see a real difference, which hasn’t been visible despite billions spent on programs to curb homelessness, including $1.2 billion in the current city budget. Bass, a Democrat and former congresswoman, has said she intends to get over...

When my fellow pro freedom activist singer/songwriter Wonni Slim (https://freedom-demokrasi-and-civilised-humanity.com/2022/09/06/aussie-freedom-fighters-10-wonni-slim-roll-out-the-rubber-bullets/) saw the "Woman Life Freedom" protest occupy the steps of the Victorian State Parliament after the end of the regular Saturday alt-right anti-government protest in Melbourne, he said, a little enviously and using the colloquial English which is the only way he knows how to speak:: "They've got their s--t together." I hope to learn from them. What do Freeepers know? How do Freepers rate the Woman Life Freedom movement compared with the Republican leaning ex-Democrat Tulsi Gabbard for whom dialogue with tyrants as opposed to demonising them is common...

About half of the U.S. adult population say they don’t need the latest COVID-19 booster while just under a quarter have already taken the jab, according to a recent poll. The findings come despite a Biden administration push to vaccinate during the holiday season. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) COVID-19 Monitor poll, only 22 percent of adults have gotten the new bivalent booster since it first became available in September. Another 16 percent claim that they plan to get it “as soon as possible.” These numbers vary slightly from those that the Center for Disease Control and Prevention...

Thanks to Elon Musk, the public is now aware that Twitter suppressed early treatment options for COVID-19, and vaccine safety concerns, Dr. Peter McCullough alleged in an interview that aired on Newsmakers by NTD and The Epoch Times on Dec. 14.Further, thanks to the Twitter Files—a collection of internal emails and communications made public by Musk—the cardiologist said there’s proof that government agencies were working against him (McCullough) personally.“I didn’t violate any of Twitter’s rules,” McCullough stated. “And what we’re learning is that secret emails between government agencies and Twitter were working to, in a sense, shadow-ban me, censor me,...

In 2018, the North Carolina legislature passed a law that would create a new amendment to the state constitution requiring voter ID at all polling places. The law (Senate Bill 824) passed with significant support, primarily from Republicans who held a supermajority in the legislature and successfully overrode a veto by the governor. But this week, in one of the most self-contradictory rulings I’ve seen in quite a while, the state supreme court struck down the law, claiming that it was unconstitutional. Reading through the ruling is an exercise in confusion and nonsensical assumptions by the justices of the court....

Hanukah movies are easier to identify. Christians fight over which movies are Christmas movies. If you ever want to purposely start an argument among Gentiles, walk into a room full of Christians and ask, “Is Die Hard a Christmas movie?” Oh boy, it will get ugly. The truth is Die Hard is a Hanukkah movie. Think about it —” Die Hard” is a story about a desperate insurgency against a vastly superior invading force, requiring the near-miraculous marshaling of limited resources. It’s a modern version of the Chanukah story. So many movie plots occur during the Christmas season. Therefore, there is an...

The January 6th committee is apparently determined to end things with the equivalent of stripping naked and running through the bear enclosure at the zoo. Despite finding essentially no evidence to support their chief assertions, which we’ll get to momentarily, criminal referrals are on the way. Now, we are getting the first details of what they will include. According to multiple outlets, citing sources close to the committee, three referrals will be made targeting Donald Trump.Multiple outlets reported on Friday that the committee will vote to recommend the Justice Department pursue criminal charges against Trump for insurrection, obstructing an official proceeding...
