Hanukah movies are easier to identify. Christians fight over which movies are Christmas movies. If you ever want to purposely start an argument among Gentiles, walk into a room full of Christians and ask, “Is Die Hard a Christmas movie?” Oh boy, it will get ugly.
The truth is Die Hard is a Hanukkah movie. Think about it —” Die Hard” is a story about a desperate insurgency against a vastly superior invading force, requiring the near-miraculous marshaling of limited resources. It’s a modern version of the Chanukah story.
So many movie plots occur during the Christmas season. Therefore, there is an excellent chance of disagreement about whether or not a particular film can be considered a Christmas Movie.
But with Hanukah movies, there is no grey area, perhaps because there are so few Hanukah movies besides “Eight Crazy Nights,” “The Hebrew Hammer,” “The Rugrats Hanukkah,” and, of course, “Die Hard.”
CODA. A few weeks ago, Ye (Kanye) West wanted to write a song about the Maccabees. However, one night when Ye was sleeping, the ghost of Judah Maccabee visited him. He admonished Ye for being an anti-Semite and warned West he would be punished if he did the song without first having a bris. I heard the Jew-hating Ye was willing to have the bris but couldn’t find a Mohel willing to do such a tiny job.

The difference between Christmas and Hanukkah:
Christmas is rigidly defined, 12 nights with gifts laid out specifically for each night, especially the fifth night.
With Hanukkah, we don't know how long it will last. Will the oil last a day, a week, two weeks? Who knows?

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go.
"Happy Chanukah" ~ Clark Griswold
Most Jews are secretly pleased that many of the beautiful Christmas carols were composed by one of our tribal brethren. My favorite is White Christmas, written by Irving Berlin (born Isaac Bailen).
Is somebody supposed to catch that? *Israel* Berlin. Isaac is supposed to be Israel -- you know the boys, Esav and Yaakov. It's like those Differences Between Christmas And Hanukkah.
("There are several really interesting clocks in Berlin.")
Archeologists and others scientists still haven’t figured out what the Jews ordered for Chinese take-out for the first 1063 years of our existence.
All they have to do is look at a Chinese menu.
🙃
No room for Festivus in this December celebration remembrances? The unadorned aluminum pole not fancy enough for you? Fearful of the Feats of Strength? Or just don’t want to hear the Airing of Grievances?
The Jews I knew in college loved Chinese food, but felt guilty about it. A Chinese restaurant is the antithesis of a kosher kitchen.
First, most of the dishes include pork fried rice. All the pots and pans had pork in them at some point. If it isn’t pork, its shellfish (shrimp), and the beef or chicken isn’t kosher . . . it might not even be beef or chicken!
Little chance of dairy running into your non-kosher meat and your pork seasoned pans, but it is enough to make even a reformed Jew feel a bit guilty, but not guilty enough to turn down Clams Casino at a Christmas Party.
I do send Hannukah cards to my longtome Jewish friends and find secular stamps for the envelopes. I suspect they are more amused than anything by it, but I still like to let them know I am thinking about them.
I hear those 364 days a year already.
I now understood what my father was meant when, when we asked what he wanted to listen to in the car, he would respond, "silence".
Happy Hanukkah!
Jeff Dunetz is a hoot. But also a deep thinker. Love the guy.
3 more candles?

This is funny
Neither White Christmas, nor Jingle Bells are CHRISTMAS songs. They are nive holiday tunes, to be sure. However, they are NOT about Christ.
There was a sort of funny movie poking fun and the Jews and Arabs called, “The Infidel” where a strict Muslim finds out he is really an adopted Jew.

And not technically a Hanukkah movie but this is a great cartoon. I highly recommend watching the whole list. Family Guy isn’t for everyone but this episode is comic genius when the hero Jew goes back in time to Warsaw.

Now that’s funny! I need to show this to my family.
Talk about busting stereotypes! A Jew making fun of a black guy for having a tiny candle!
It’s a fair point that Jingle Bells never so much as mentions anything about Christmas, let alone Christ. I’d call White Christmas a Christmas song to anyone who will claim Die Hard is a Christmas movie.
