The Light We Carry is supposedly a guide for all women, everywhere, in their 'ongoing journey to "becoming"'. We must embrace our true potential, she suggests, despite being thwarted by prejudice and, yes, dastardly men. Michelle offers such sage reflections as 'fear can keep us safe, but fear can keep us stuck'. Eh? 'We practise, we learn, learn and practise, we make mistakes then start over again,' she writes. If we 'recognise our light, we become empowered by it'. She also hails the joys of knitting to find lasting peace. The book is printed in 40 languages. Let's hope one...

(WAPO Supported Mueller, No for Democrats.) Appointing a special counsel for Clinton would damage the Justice Department The Justice Department’s declaration that Attorney General Jeff Sessions is considering appointing a special counsel to investigate Hillary Clinton in response to demands by Republicans should alarm anyone who cares about the independence of the department. (snip) As a former U.S. attorney who now teaches criminal law and national security, I find the department’s letter troubling for three reasons. First, the response tends to undermine the Justice Department’s independence by suggesting that it makes investigative decisions based on political considerations. The Department of...

BREAKING: Jeffrey Epstein Docs to Be UnsealedAfter a judge concluded that the public interest trumps the right to privacy, dozens of court documents related to Jeffrey Epstein’s contacts will be made public, according to a report. On Friday, Judge Loretta Preska ordered that sealed documents about eight Epstein associates must be unsealed despite the assertion of one of the subjects that the release of the documents would “wrongfully harm (his) privacy and reputation.” “Among those whose names are mentioned in the documents are Emmy Tayler, Ghislaine Maxwell’s former personal assistant, who was accused of taking part in the sexual abuse...

Animals can adapt quickly to survive adverse environmental conditions. Evidence is mounting to show that plants can, too. A paper publishing in the journal Trends in Plant Science on November 17 details how plants are rapidly adapting to the adverse effects of climate change, and how they are passing down these adaptations to their offspring. Because plants don't have neural networks, their memory is based entirely on cellular, molecular, and biochemical networks. These networks make up what the researchers term somatic memory. "These mechanisms allow plants to recognize the occurrence of a previous environmental condition and to react more promptly...

Nancy Pelosi rightfully will go down as one of the greatest speakers in the history of the U.S. House of Representatives. I’m not sure I would agree with Pelosi on a single policy issue; that’s not the point. As far as leadership ability and political smarts, Pelosi ran circles around the bumbling Republicans of her time. Pelosi got things done for the Left in a way no recent Republican leader could for the Right. When the stakes were highest, she was able to corral her votes. Simultaneously, when the far Left went too far, she was willing to slap them...

The number of people who signed up for health insurance through HealthCare.gov jumped by 40 percent compared to last year, President Biden said on Friday. “Right now, four out of five folks who sign up for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act can get healthcare coverage for $10 a month or less. These lower rates were set to expire on Jan. 1 of this coming year, but instead we were able to extend them,” Biden said during remarks addressing business and labor leaders.

The COP27 globalist gathering that recently took place in Egypt came with open calls for a global phase-out of, and eventual ban on, all fossil fuels. Were this to actually happen, billions of people would die. A tiny, failing island in the South Pacific called Tuvalu (ever heard of it?) made the proposition using the following quoted statement: “We, therefore, unite with 100 Nobel Peace Prize laureates and 1000s of scientists worldwide to urge world leaders to join the fossil fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty, to manage a just transition away from fossil fuels.” One wonders: what does Tuvalu mean by the...

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Thursday announced that a large idled refinery in the U.S. Virgin Islands will remain shut down until it acquires a new Clean Air Act permit amid a national diesel shortage. The St. Croix refinery, owned by West Indies Petroleum Limited and Port Hamilton Refining and Transportation, LLLC, has been shut down since June 2021 and will have to obtain a Prevention of Significant Deterioration permit which would require the operators to provide detailed air quality analyses and use sophisticated air pollution control technology, according to the EPA press release. At the same time, the...

The dust from the US midterm elections is beginning to settle and experts are struggling to understand the implications. While most Republicans are disappointed, for Christian leaders, the results are particularly concerning. It is clear that the elections seemed important to voters as turnout was relatively high by midterm standards. Voter turnout was the second-highest of any midterm, only slightly less than the elections in 1970. In addition, the 2022 midterm elections were the most expensive in the history of the United States. All 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 seats in the Senate...

A handful of Senate Republicans reportedly started talks with illegal aliens enrolled in and eligible for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program as House and Senate Democrats, along with corporate special interest allies, hope to pass an amnesty in the lame-duck Congress. This week, DACA illegal aliens and open borders activists descended on Washington, DC, in their efforts to lobby ten Senate Republicans to join Democrats in passing an amnesty — before the GOP takes control of the House — that would secure them green cards and, eventually, naturalized American citizenship.

My sources are a current article on a homicidally, sexually obsessive chromosomal-xy, whose case is of a type commented-on long ago by a true expert, former Psychiatrist in Chief, Johns-Hopkins Hospital, who showed in his 2004 FirstThings article Surgical Sex that a large proportion of male-to-female transgenders have a psychiatric disorder, a "paraphilia", called auto-gynephilia--they want to become women so they can have lesbian sex with chromosomal-xx persons. And I will refer to a book Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters by Abigail Shrier that shows that young chromosomal-xx people are so pressured into violent sex by chromosomal-xy...

100 Percent Fed Up – On September 8, reporters working for 100 Percent Fed Up and The Gateway Pundit attended “The Pit,” where True the Votes’ Catherine Engelbrecht and Gregg Phillips dropped a bombshell about the arrest of Eugene Yu, CEO of Konnech, an E. Lansing, MI-based company responsible for the software used in managing elections in several states that stored personal information of over 1 million Americans in its database. Konnech, much like Dominion, almost immediately sued True the Vote as a way to silence them and keep them from speaking out about the bombshell information they provided to...

Russians are fleeing Crimea amid fears that Ukraine will soon move to recapture the region that Vladimir Putin illegally annexed in 2014, according to local media reports. Emil Ibragimov, the head of the Crimean project and educational platform Q-Hub, told Radio NV in a video published on Friday that Russians are fleeing from Crimea to the neighboring Russian region of Krasnodar because they fear Ukraine will eventually liberate the Black Sea peninsula. Ibragimov said that many Russian citizens who settled in Crimea after it was occupied eight years ago had already left. -snip- His remarks coincide with an assessment by...

Bankman-Fried delivered a maximum donation to Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., the current House Democratic Caucus chairman FTX founder and CEO Sam Bankman-Fried donated the maximum amount an individual can give to a candidate to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's, D-Calif., likely successor. Bankman-Fried made a contribution worth $5,800 to Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., in July 2021, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) data. While the amount was relatively tiny compared to the roughly $38 million the crypto entrepreneur funneled to candidates and political action committees (PAC) ahead of the midterm elections, it represented the maximum contribution an individual is allowed to...

CNN's Don Lemon is a shameless pro-Democrat hack. On today's CNN This Morning, CNN's Pamela Brown reported on her interview with Rep. James Comer, the Republican chairman of the House oversight committee, who will be leading the investigation. Comer indicated that although Joe Biden will not be subpoenaed, this will be an investigation of the president. Lemon, expressing skepticism, asked Brown whether there is any "there, there" to the investigation. Lemon suggested that the investigation is nothing more than "retribution" for the Democrats' investigations of Donald Trump. And Lemon concluded the segment by scoffing at the importance of the investigation: "The...
