HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Reports of longer than anticipated lines and delays, as well as claims of insufficient balloting materials, have led to not only the Texas governor calling for an investigation into Harris County's Election Day process, but also a lawsuit against the county's elections administrator. Gov. Greg Abbott, who won a third term last Tuesday, cited voters frustrated by delays including missing keys, insufficient paper ballots in Republican precincts, and staffing problems. "The allegations of election improprieties in our state's largest county may result from anything ranging from malfeasance to blatant criminal conduct," Abbott's office wrote in a...

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York began a simulated digital currency initiative on Tuesday alongside multiple major banks as the cryptocurrency sector descends into chaos. The digital dollar simulation, which is slated to last for 12 weeks, will “experiment with the concept of a regulated liability network,” a concept for a financial market infrastructure that would facilitate “digital asset transactions that connect deposits held at regulated financial institutions using distributed ledger technology,” according to a press release from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Analysts will test the “feasibility of payments between financial institutions” using tokenized assets. Among...

One of several sources of errors in biblical interpretation is confusing the new covenant with the old one. For example, the cults (Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses) are famously guilty of this as they emphasize that works are how we are saved. Mormons compound the error by emphasizing the importance of temple worship, having built magnificent “temples” in Salt Lake City and elsewhere―in which they conduct secret temple rituals. These are old covenant things. Now hear me out. Aren’t dispensationalists guilty of similar infractions? Isn’t their hope of a rebuilt temple, along with temple sacrifices and rituals, obsolete old covenant stuff?...

Cell phone footage captured the horrific moment a wedding photographer was wrestled to the ground and pistol-whipped by armed attackers in front of terrified newlyweds. Video posted online shows how two men in dark Nike sweatshirts, face masks and dark sweatpants approached the unidentified photographer in broad daylight at San Francisco's Palace of Fine Arts on November 9. It was just one of two assaults on wedding photographers at the Palace of Fine Arts that day, after a recent poll found that a majority of San Franciscans believe their city is going downhill, and a third plan to leave the...

Hunter Biden on Tuesday appeared for an interview on Twitter Spaces to discuss his so-called ‘art’ and his interest in NFTs and crypto. Hunter appeared on “The Crypto Roundtable Show” with host Mario Nawfal, a co-host and a handful of speakers who are experts on crypto. The interview went sideways when one of the speakers asked Hunter Biden about former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried’s mega donations to the Democrat party. Sam Bankman-Fried, a 30-year-old Democrat darling, spent more than $40 million to fund the midterms with his Ponzi scheme through the crypto exchange he founded (FTX). Sam Bankman-Fried is Biden’s...

In an unexpected move, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gave its support Tuesday to a proposed federal law that would not only recognize all legal marriages but also codify ones between same-sex couples. The Utah-based faith’s doctrine “related to marriage between a man and a woman is well known and will remain unchanged,” according to a news release posted to the church’s website. “We are grateful for the continuing efforts of those who work to ensure the Respect for Marriage Act includes appropriate religious freedom protections while respecting the law and preserving the rights of our LGBTQ...

The Democrat strategy of using mail-in ballots to vote played a pivotal role in last week’s election results. Pennsylvania Republicans are talking amongst themselves about how to react in the next election. Republicans have two views: get rid of mail-in voting—which seems unlikely with more elected Democrats in power—or learn how Democrats got an avalanche of mail-in votes and employ the same strategy. The Epoch Times asked the Pennsylvania GOP to discuss the 2022 results and its strategy regarding mail-in ballots in future elections, but it chose not to participate in this story. Pennsylvania Democrats were also asked to comment...

Balinese culture, a perpetual exercise in sophisticated subtlety, makes no distinction between the secular and the supernatural – sekala and niskala. Sekala is what our senses may discern. As in the ritualized gestures of world leaders – real and minor – at a highly polarized G20. Niskala is what cannot be sensed directly and can only be “suggested.” And that also applies to geopolitics. The Balinese highlight may have featured an intersection of sekala and niskala: the much ballyhooed Xi-Biden face-to-face (or face to earpiece). The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs preferred to cut to the chase, selecting the Top...

That was Sen. Mitt Romney, a Utah Republican, telling MSNBC that he thinks it’s time to bench former President Donald Trump following the GOP’s somewhat lackluster showing in last week’s midterm elections. Despite some pundits predicting a “red wave” of Republican victories that would reclaim control of Congress, Democrats managed to hold onto the Senate, and the GOP picked up fewer seats in the House than expected. And when Romney said he thought Trump was going to announce running for president for a third time on Tuesday, that’s when the senator broke out his “aging pitcher” metaphor. “I know there’s...

Manhattan Transfer performance in London, 45 years ago. The only MT video I've ever seen that includes Laurel Massé. She was forced to quit the group after a car accident that nearly killed her; she fell asleep at the wheel after a performance in Washington DC. She received injuries that made it very painful for her to stand while performing. She was replaced in the group by Cheryl Bentyne, another exceptionally talented musician. This video has been up on YT only two months, and has (at present) fewer than 10K views.
