It has been said before, by many people, that there are four boxes in politics: The Soap Box (or expressing yourself), the Ballot Box (voting), the Jury Box (legal challenges to bad voting or speech suppression), and the Cartridge Box (the use of firearms). The Soap Box has been squelched by an unholy alliance between government and social media (and search engines), although Elon Musk may rescue Twitter. So, the Soap Box is mostly gone. The Ballot Box has been diminished, almost to the point that it doesn't even matter any more. This has been done through a combination of...

Homosexualist Paglia Advocates the Murder of ChildrenHomosexualist Vincenzo Paglia, head of the Pontifical Academy against Life, has justified the appointment of the atheist and abortion activist Mariana Mazzucato as member of his academy (TheTablet.co.uk, November 10).With thousands dying of hunger, it is essential for Paglia to talk about economics ("an economist is indispensable"), as if there were no decent economists apart from the abortion activist Mazzucato.Using word cosmetics to fool the stupid he called Mazzucato “rather pro-choice [= pro-abortion] than pro-abortion [= pro-choice].”For Paglia, the term "pro-life" does not refer to abortion but to "war", "hunger", "poverty" or "suicide". His...

Editor’s note: this story has been updated to clarify the appeals court order, which halts any action in the case until further notice. The Missouri Court of Appeals has ordered a Cedar County judge to halt all further action in the Agape Boarding School case until it issues a final decision on a recent motion. “You are directed to refrain from taking further action,” the appellate court wrote in a ruling that was issued Wednesday, “ ... until further order of this court.” In what is called a preliminary writ of prohibition, the appellate court said the only action Associate...

LONDON, Nov 12 (Reuters) - British finance minister Jeremy Hunt said he will have to raise taxes in next week's budget plan in order to fix the public finances and soften a potentially long recession, a newspaper quoted him as saying on Saturday. Hunt is trying to restore Britain's credibility among investors in the first budget plan since Rishi Sunak replaced Liz Truss as prime minister last month with a vow to undo her economic policy mistakes, chiefly a series of unfunded tax cuts. "This is going to be a big moment of choice for the country and we will...

"And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard. And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty." "Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."...

The Democrats’ surprisingly strong showing in the midterm elections has raised a familiar question: Did the pollsters get it wrong again? Heading into Nov. 8, polls from across the industry gave Republicans the clear edge in battleground races, as well as on the generic ballot. The data bolstered the belief among pundits that a red wave was on the rise.

Even before polls closed, one of the year's biggest Democratic donors had a very bad Tuesday. Sam Bankman-Fried's cryptocurrency exchange FTX -- valued at $32 billion in January -- suffered a sudden liquidity crunch and was taken over by its rival Binance.

A Chicago construction company is offering a whopping $100,000 reward to anyone who can help reveal the identity of whoever allegedly placed a noose at the site of the future Barack Obama Presidential Center. Major controversy erupted on Thursday after officials said the noose was found hanging at the construction site of the center, which is being built in Chicago's Jackson Park. Lakeside Alliance, the company in charge of building the site, responded to the controversy by "offering a $100,000 reward to help find whoever was responsible," the Chicago Tribune reported on Thursday. ”We have zero tolerance for any form...

Luke 18:1-8 Friends, today’s Gospel exhorts us to pray with persistence. This command is everywhere in the Bible. We see it in Abraham’s steady petition on behalf of the people of Sodom. We see it in today’s account of the persistent widow. We hear it in Jesus’ extraordinary teaching: “Knock and the door shall be opened to you; seek and you will find; ask and it will be given to you.” One reason that we don’t receive what we want through prayer is that we give up too easily. What could be behind this rule of prayer? Augustine said that...

Excellent conversation with Garland Nixon about the United States plan for stealing Europe's industry in order to reindustrialize the U.S allowing it to become more competitive with China and to maintain hegemony. Europe had to give up low cost Russian gas and oil to weaken them enough that their industries would be forced to relocate here or go bankrupt. Europe is in the process of a complete collapse. He believes that the U.S. always uses their vassals and then discards them as empires have throughout history. One of the most interesting points he makes is that the U.S. like Britain...

People need to take seriously the Great Reset that introduces communist-style living and governance being pushed by the World Economic Forum (WEF), said Michael Walsh, author, filmmaker, and editor. Too many people still treat it as nothing more than a conspiracy theory, Walsh said during an interview on EpochTV’s “Crossroads” program on Oct. 14. Walsh warned that the Great Reset promoted by the WEF, an organization commonly known for its annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, is, in general, “a plan to totalitarianize the world according to what the plutocracy wants, which is fewer people, less movement of people.” Klaus Schwab,...

...More and more people are joining the abandon movement Trump on the Republican side. This is all about saving the Washington establishment. It’s all about making sure that Trump does not succeed in getting reelected and continuing to drain the swamp and continuing to empower you, the people who make this country work. The subtext of this is this. They love the idea of junking Trump, these Republicans. We know the Democrats do. But I’m talking about the Republican establishment. They love the idea of junking Trump and holding the Senate. They are having orgasms over there. And they’re not...

After Tuesday’s elections, entities owned and managed by Rupert Murdoch and his son Lachlan have lined up against President Donald J. Trump. There is now a “coordinated effort” across the New York Post, Fox News, and the Wall Street Journal against Trump. The Post is running columns by longtime Trump hater John Podhoretz and gun grabber Piers Morgan bashing the 45th President. Podhoretz’s piece also lashes out at Blake Masters as an “election-denier,” and ludicrously asserts that we shouldn’t support candidates Mitch McConnell doesn’t like. Morgan, meanwhile, is urging Republicans to “dump Trump.” Unfortunately for him, Americans conservatives don’t tend...

Explanation: A darker Moon sets over Manhattan in this night skyscape. The 16 frame composite was assembled from consecutive exposures recorded during the November 8 total lunar eclipse. In the timelapse sequence stars leave short trails above the urban skyline, while the Moon remains immersed in Earth's shadow. But the International Space Station was just emerging from the shadow into the sunlit portion of its low Earth orbit. As seen from New York City, the visible streak of this ISS flyover starts near a star in Taurus and tracks right to left, through the belt of Orion and over Sirius,...

When parents first heard about Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in the 1990s, it felt like a lifeline — for both them and their autistic kids. ABA was an intensive therapy based around a system of rewards and punishments designed to change children’s behavior; through repetition and consistent reinforcement, good behaviors could be formed, while undesirable ones were eliminated. The therapy was individualized and time-consuming — to the tune of 40 hours a week — and it needed to be delivered early in a child’s development. Suddenly parents were seeing positive results. For some, it offered the promise of normalcy for...

[Catholic Caudus] “Deconsecrated Temples and the Religion of Man” — Archbishop Hector Aguer In recent times, we have witnessed, here and there, the use of cathedrals and other sacred buildings for conferences and other events for politicians, social leaders and members of other groups of different orientations. In this way, for example, recognition is sought for the ten years since the pontifical election. And the Pope himself endorses them with words such as: "It comforts my soul that my person has made possible this moment of communion, of encounter beyond differences." In these meetings, the Holy Father's teachings in...
