At least 10 people have been killed and another 15 injured in a stabbing rampage in Canada's central Saskatchewan province, police say. The victims were found in 13 locations, including in James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon. Two suspects that police identified as Damien Sanderson, 31, and Myles Sanderson, 30, are on the run and considered armed and dangerous. Former Police drummer Stewart Copeland performed at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in London on Saturday, playing a pair of tunes from his old band with help from several other rockers. After receiving a rousing welcome from the crowd, Copeland took his seat behind the drums. Accompanied by Foo Fighters — with Dave Grohl on guitar and vocals — the group first rocked through a rendition of the Police's 1978 single "Next to You." From there, Supergrass singer Gaz Coombes joined the ensemble, delivering another Police classic: "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic." Copeland was a lifelong influence on...

Rings of Power is glorified fan fiction with a multi-million dollar budget. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is commercialism in all its glory—and gore. It is a billion-dollar visual feast built from the breadcrumbs left behind by J.R.R. Tolkien. Amazon Prime Video’s new offering—described as Jeff Bezos’ vanity project—promises to slake our thirst for high fantasy. But it takes creative liberties that make purists cringe. In 2017, Amazon bought the television rights to The Lord of the Rings (LOTR) trilogy, The Hobbit and the appendices for $250 million, and then poured another $465 million into the first...

A recent announcement by China that it is forgiving 23 loans for 17 African countries may be motivated by accusations of "debt-trap diplomacy," say some analysts. Critics have long accused Beijing of practicing debt-trap diplomacy, suggesting it deliberately lends to countries that it knows cannot repay the money, thereby increasing its political leverage. China vehemently rejects this, alleging it's a way for the U.S. to discredit Beijing, Washington's main challenger in the quest for influence in Africa. China's decision to forgive the zero-interest loans is, in part, aimed at countering the debt-trap narrative, said Harry Verhoeven, senior research scholar at...

Explanation: Every step caused the sand to light up blue. That glow was bioluminescence -- a blue radiance that also lights the surf in this surreal scene captured in mid-2018 at Meyer's Creek Beach in Oregon, USA. Volcanic stacks dot the foreground sea, while a thin fog layer scatters light on the horizon. The rays of light spreading from the left horizon were created by car headlights on the Oregon Coast Highway (US 101), while the orange light on the right horizon emanates from a fishing boat. Visible far in the distance is the band of our Milky Way Galaxy,...

The new film Bones and All starring Timothée Chalamet as a bone-crunching, bi-sexual cannibal was greeted with an 8.5-minute standing ovation at its premiere Friday night at the Venice Film Festival. The effort reunites the actor with his Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino and is reportedly as gruesome and gory as the name suggests — although that did nothing to dim the enthusiasm from the audience on the night, as Varity reports. The industry outlet records the film received a 8.5-minute standing ovation, the longest and most enthusiastic of the festival so far. The film puts Chalamet...

FIRST ON FOX: Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman, a Democrat, told teachers’ unions that they would be his "first" call for education policy should he get elected. While taking questions during a January speaking gig at a Pennsylvania State Education Association Political Institute event, Fetterman said that, if elected, he would be a staunch ally of teachers’ unions. His comments had not been reported previously. "I’m not going to sit up here and pretend that I know exactly what’s needed, I’m going to turn to you," Fetterman said. "If you send me to Washington, D.C., you’ll be the first people...

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a stirring call for unity and peace in America, President Biden today called for killing off half the country. "It's real simple, folks! " said President Biden. "America can be united if we can just murder everyone who disagrees with me. Peace in our time, Jack!" While most Democrats agreed with Biden's understatedly brilliant plan, some expressed concern that he was getting ahead of himself. "We've only just recently introduced the idea that anyone who disagrees with us is a dangerous extremist who deserves to die," said DNC Chair Jaime Harrison. "You've got to give that...

Recently, a video was uploaded by YouTuber and engineer Allen Pan in which he literally designs robotic legs for a snake. And guess what, his design was successful. The snake did walk, and that too perfectly. In the video, Pan also talks about reptiles and aquatic animals with legs. He goes on to say that he will prove to the audiences that he is a snake lover. He first develops a rough design, and tests it on a stuffed toy snake. But this design fails. So, he comes up with another design, and names it “Snake legs 2.0.” He visits...

It’s reasonable to ask whether US President Joe Biden is running the country or the people “who grant him the permission to speak”, according to Sky News host Rita Panahi. Sky News host Rita Panahi says it’s “quite sad” to watch a clip in which the President picks a journalist to ask a question before realising he’s “not allowed to do that”. “He says, and I quote, ‘I took control. I shouldn’t do that. I’m not allowed to do that’. “And then the handlers come in and call an end to proceedings.”

Arizona Republican gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake is hitting back against the media’s hypocrisy on election integrity, and she is not pulling her punches. At a press conference Friday, one reporter asked Lake, “You said you feel like Joe Biden is dividing the country, but do you feel like Donald Trump is doing the same by falsely telling people that he won that [2020] election when he lost it?” Lake countered by asking why questioning an election should be considered divisive.“I was a journalist after 2016, and I distinctly remember many people just like you asking a lot of questions about the...

Twitter users blasted President Biden Sunday after he called out "MAGA proposals" as a threat to "the very soul of this country," in another example of the president attacking his political opponents. The backers of I-135 to create a new public developer “to build, acquire, own, and manage social housing” in Seattle say they have successfully gathered enough signatures to place the initiative on the ballot —but the vote won’t come until 2023. “Voters across Seattle will now get the opportunity to vote for a new intervention to our affordable housing approach,” the House Our Neighbors! group said in a statement. “We are on the brink of establishing a public developer to create housing for folks who are in the 0-120% AMI bracket, where restorative justice measures must be implemented —no more...

LONDON, UK — An English household literally uncovered a buried treasure, and they'll likely get a pretty penny for it. During a renovation of their 18th-century home in 2019, the residents came across a salt-glazed earthenware cup stuck beneath the concrete and floorboards. When they looked inside, they discovered more than 260 gold coins. The auction house Spink & Son issued a statement calling this one of the largest hoards of 17th and 18th century English gold coins ever confirmed in Britain.
