The Movement for Black Lives launched a new climate change initiative Thursday, uniting more than 200 Black environmental leaders and organizations nationwide who have pledged to find equitable climate solutions centering on Black Americans and communities. The Black Hive initiative builds on the movement’s 2021 Red, Black, and Green New Deal and reintroduces its Black Climate Mandate that outlines the urgency for a Black climate agenda and investment in equitable strategies that protect Black Americans specifically. Numerous studies have found Black and other communities of color have borne the brunt of climate and environmental impacts for decades. Black Hive leaders...

We’ve already done one post today on Ben Shapiro that exposed just how “dangerous” he can be. Podcast Movement, which sold booth space to The Daily Wire for its event in Dallas, sent out a Code Red that Shapiro was actually on the convention floor. Podcast Movement apologized and took “full responsibility for the harm done by his presence,” while never quite explaining what “harm” Shapiro had caused just by walking around the convention. We have another Ben Shapiro/Daily Wire story for you. It seems that on Wednesday, the website Uproxx published a piece entitled, “Student Loan Debt Forgiveness Hater...

A United Airlines plane is reported to have taxied so long that it ran out of fuel ahead of its flight earlier this week. United Airlines Boeing 737-900ER was scheduled to fly out of Newark Liberty International Airport on Monday (August 22)), but was short on gas after taxiing for six hours, leading to the flight eventually getting canceled, Aviation A2Z reports. Several passengers on board shared their experiences on social media as the incident took place, including New York Times reporter Hiroko Tabuchi, who wrote, "You can't make this up. my United flight out of Newark taxied on the...

When you hear the name “Ben Shapiro,” what words come to mind? A lot, probably. Which is fitting, considering how many words Ben Shapiro is able to get out between breaths. Seriously, the guy can talk fast. But back to our question: what do you think of when you think of Ben Shapiro? Chances are pretty good that “harm” is not anywhere on the list. But apparently it’s at or near the very top of @PodcastMovement’s list. According to their Twitter bio, Podcast Movement is “the world’s largest community of podcasters,” and they’re currently doing a big event in Dallas....

"This is not a new thing, but it has been further weaponized beyond its own name. What used to be a call about your refrigerator running…down the street, then became a pizza you did not order, and now it is facing down the barrels of multiple guns, and always for no reason. The current version began as ‘dispute resolution’ in the gaming community then changed into what the alt-far-left MSM claimed were “pranks on celebrities” is now being used to terrorize and silence one side of the political spectrum, the Right, just as if the police were the other side’s...

What’s considered officially “dangerous heat” in coming decades will likely hit much of the world at least three times more often as climate change worsens, according to a new study. “So that’s kind of the scary thing about this,” said study author Lucas Zeppetello, a Harvard climate scientist. “That’s something where potentially billions of people are going to be exposed to extremely dangerous levels of heat very regularly. So something that’s gone from virtually never happening before will go to something that is happening every year.” Zeppetello and colleagues used more than 1,000 computer simulations to look at the probabilities...

American Mass Attendance Before and After “the Council.”Photo credit above: Dr. Peter Kwasniewski.A new CARA study quoting Gallup polls has recently published statistics on current American Catholicism as seen above. We have all known for awhile that there were more ex-Catholics than Catholics in the USA, but the spread is enormous in the above numbers that just came out in 2022. In one graphic from CARA (above chart) see especially that there’s almost 113 million US Catholics baptized but only about 53 million of them even attempt to attend yearly Mass at Christmas and Easter.Another study (above) came out a...

On Monday, the Assembly passed a bill to ban the sale of one-pound disposable propane tanks in California by 2028. Senate Bill 1256, authored by Senator Bob Wieckowski (D-Fremont), would begin the ban on January 1, 2028. There would only be a few minor exceptions under SB 1256, including propane tanks used for construction, cylinders that have a height-to-width ratio of 3.55 to 1 or greater, and those provided by federal and local purchases by the US General Services Administration’s State and Local Disaster Purchase Program.

On Thursday, a federal appeals court ruled that Arkansas cannot enforce a ban on “transgender” children receiving “gender-affirming” care. “Gender-affirming” care encompasses hormone therapy, puberty blockers and sex reassignment surgery. The 8th U.S. The Circuit Court of Appeals sided with a judge’s ruling temporarily blocking the state from enforcing the law, which prohibits doctors in the state from providing this type of care to anyone under 18 years old or referring them to other providers to receive treatment. The ACLU challenged the 2021 law on behalf of four families of transgender children and two doctors who provide “gender affirming” treatments.

SEJONG, Aug. 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's total fertility rate hit a record low last year as the number of childbirths continued to fall, data showed Wednesday, underscoring the country's gloomy demographic situation. The country's total fertility rate -- the average number of children a woman bears in her lifetime -- came to 0.81 child in 2021, down from 0.84 the previous year, according to the data from Statistics Korea. It was the lowest since the statistics agency began compiling related data in 1970. Last year also marked the fourth straight year that the number was below 1. South Korea...

McAfee was widely reported to have hanged himself inside a Spanish jail in June 2021 while awaiting US extradition on tax evasion charges. But, according to his Belizean ex-girlfriend Samantha Herrera, he faked his own death, moved to Texas and is still alive. “I don’t know if I should say, but two weeks ago, after his death, I got a call from Texas: ‘It’s me, John. I paid off people to pretend that I am dead, but I am not dead,'” Herrera claims in the Netflix documentary “Running With the Devil: The Wild World of John McAfee,” out Wednesday. Herrera...

Prior to young girls being offered the Covid-19 vaccine, deaths among the age group were in line with the expected five-year average. But an analysis of official data published by the Office for National Statistics shows that deaths among female children increased by 57% immediately after they were first offered the Covid-19 vaccine. The risk of children dying due to the alleged Covid-19 disease is so extraordinarily low that it is negligible, and this is precisely why the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation refused to recommend that children be offered a Covid-19 injection in the UK, citing that the benefits...

On Sunday, Margaret Sullivan wrote her final column for the Washington Post, and unsurprisingly it was chock full of her overriding obsession with Donald Trump. Even the title of her swan song hinted at her obsession with Trump: My final column: 2024 and the dangers ahead.

I’ve become increasingly intrigued by the fact that western military analysts – even among those not burdened with the epidemic strain of virulent antipathy towards Russia – have not spoken much (if at all) about what I consider to be quite arguably the most impressive revelation of the war in Ukraine. In addition to imposing a virtual “you fly, you die” rule against the Ukrainian Air Force and the various drones they employ, the Russians are, with a formidable array of air defense systems of varying capacities, routinely shooting down: ballistic missiles, MLRS rockets, HARMS anti-radiation missiles, and even artillery...

Explanation: The rugged lunar south polar region lies at the top of this colorful portrait of a last quarter Moon made on August 20. Constructed from video frames and still images taken at Springrange, New South Wales, Australia it also captures a transit of China's Tiangong Space Station. The transit itself was fleeting, taking the space station less than a second to cross the shadowed and sunlit lunar disk. The low Earth orbiting Tiangong is at an altitude of about 400 kilometers, while the Moon is some 400,000 kilometers away. Subtle color differences along the bright lunar surface are revealed...

Charlie Crist used to be a Republican. Then he became an independent. Later he was a Democrat. Now, the protean politician appears to be portraying himself as the candidate of the Party of God! Crist appeared on Wednesday's Morning Joe, the day after he won the Florida Democrat gubernatorial primary. At one point he was asked how he would take on Governor Ron DeSantis. Crist began by comparing DeSantis' approval rating of 50 percent to the 72 percent Crist claimed to enjoy at one point during his tenure as governor (back when he was a Republican). When Crist called his...

I recall a while back an aurora borealis video (also from Finland) I shared met with a good share of enthusiastic replies. So here is a website with live stream. Click on the image to get to the site, or to YouTube where the stream is anyways. Not much going on there now as I post this. Might be worth a bookmark though.

The Republican group Winning for Women Action Fund rolled out a six-figure digital ad buy on Thursday hitting incumbent Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) over the issue of crime and boosting Murray’s GOP opponent, Tiffany Smiley. The ad accuses Murray of being “out of touch” and of “turning her back on law enforcement.” Additionally, the buy includes a website called wokepattymurray.com, which also targets her on the issue. It will likely be an uphill battle for Smiley and the GOP. The nonpartisan Cook Political Report rates the race as “solid Democratic,” and polls show Murray leading by double digits.
