Sir Salman Rushdie is reportedly on a ventilator and may lose an eye after he was stabbed on stage in the US on Friday. Rushdie's agent Andrew Wylie told the New York Times that the news was "not good," adding that Rushdie could not speak, while the nerves in his arm were severed in the attack and his liver was "stabbed and damaged". The British author, who has lived under the shadow of a fatwa imposed 33 years ago, was appearing at a literary festival in western New York State when the assailant, dressed in black, ran at him from...

On Friday, Breitbart, the far-right news site, was neck-and-neck with the Wall Street Journal on a huge scoop when they released details about the search warrant that was issued for Mar-a-Lago — former President Donald Trump's Florida estate — earlier this week. But Breitbart completely butchered their scoop. Rather than focusing on the specific details of the warrant, or the itemized list of property that federal agents seized from Trump's home on suspicion of potentially serious crimes (the outlet obtained both documents and only later published them in full), author Matthew Boyle initially chose to write about when the warrant...

Security camera footage from an apartment building in Brooklyn shows the puzzling moment when a man climbed into a garbage pit and plunged to his death, as a woman and another man looked on. Video of the fatal incident came from the first floor corridor of the Medgar Evers apartments in Stuyvesant Heights at around 4am on Thursday. The unidentified man was later found mutilated at the bottom of the chute. He had plunged to his death 15 minutes before his body was discovered. The NYPD has not commented on why the man went into the garbage chute, but neighbors...

Leaked details of negotiations with Iran suggest that the Biden administration is prepared to make significant concessions to revive the defunct nuclear deal -- even as shocking Iranian-inspired murder plots including an attack on Salman Rushdie unfold on US soil. This week, following days of indirect talks between the US and Iran in Vienna, EU officials put forward a 'final' proposal to revive the 2015 Iran nuclear deal that former President Donald Trump pulled out of unilaterally four years ago. Excerpts of a leaked draft of the text suggest that it would blunt American sanctions against Iran's Revolutionary Guards and...

Supporters of Iran have been celebrating the callous attack on Salman Rushdie, which saw the author stabbed up to 15 times – including once in the neck. Rushdie, 75, was attacked by Hadi Matar, 24, as he was being introduced to the stage for the CHQ 2022 event in Chautauqua, near Buffalo in upstate New York, on Friday morning. He was airlifted to hospital and undergoing surgery in Erie, Pennsylvania. He was issued a fatwa – a death sentence - in 1989 by Iran's Ayatollah Khomeini after his book, the Satanic Verses, sparked and outcry with Muslims in Britain.

Attorney for former President Donald Trump Lindsey Halligan called the FBI’s lack of transparency about its raid on Trump’s home perhaps "the first step to tyranny" Friday on "Hannity." HALLIGAN: President Trump, to my understanding, declassified everything. The FBI's withholding of information and lack of transparency is crazy. It's honestly - it may be the first step to tyranny. Controlling the channel of information is also part of that. And if it wasn't for Truth Social, Twitter might have banned President Trump from telling the world what happened on Monday. Seems that they want to silence President Trump and cancel...

Arizona began moving in shipping containers to close a 1,000-foot gap in the border wall near the southern Arizona farming community of Yuma on Friday, with officials saying they were acting to stop migrants after repeated, unfulfilled promises from the Biden administration to block off the area. 'Arizona has had enough,' tweeted Doug Ducey, the Republican governor of the state, who is up for re-election in November. 'We can't wait any longer. The Biden administration's lack of urgency on border security is a dereliction of duty.' The Yuma sector of the border, 126 miles long, has seen an almost 300...

A new law was passed in furtherance of a “diverse society.” Under a new law, Germans will be able to change their gender and first name without having to undergo any surgery once a year, every year if required. Yes, really. The Self-Determination Act will allow transgender, intersex, and non-binary people to change their gender at will merely by visiting a registry office and signing a piece of paper.

“Common people” are right to be fearful of a future in which they will be made “redundant“, according to World Economic Forum (WEF) advisor Yuval Noah Harari, who said “We just don’t need the vast majority of the population” in the early 21st century given modern technologies.” Harari’s extraordinary remarks were made in an interview with Chris Anderson, the head of TED, published on Tuesday, and represent the strongest warning yet that Klaus Schwab’s WEF is intent on depopulating the world. The WEF advisor assessed widespread anxiety among “common people” as being rooted in a fear of being “left behind”...

I have lost the 'shared' MASSIVE amount of photoshoppings off of the original, that many of us FReepers made and passed along, of the situation room with Obunghole and Hitlery in it. If anyone still has a copy/pic of it, could you please post it (or any and all of the versions/additions)? It is greatly appreciated :^) Bikk

A new study published by researchers suggests that the common steroid betamethasone could be used to reduce unwanted side effects of radiation treatments for prostate cancer. The lab study led by Luksana Chaiswing, Ph.D., is the first to demonstrate that betamethasone protects normal prostate cells from injury induced by radiation therapy, while making the cancer cells more susceptible to the treatment. Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among men in the U.S. While radiation therapy is important to control the growth of prostate cancer, it presents a significant risk of increasing unwanted side effects, including injury...

DEVELOPING: Sources say the FBI agents and officials who were involved in the raid on former President Trump's home work in the same Counterintelligence Division of the FBI that investigated Trump in the Russiagate hoax and are actively under criminal investigation by Special Counsel John Durham for potentially abusing their power investigating Trump in the Russian fraud and therefore have a potential conflict of interest and should have been RECUSED from participating in this supposed "espionage" investigation at Mar-a-Lago.

In recent decades, the term “family values” has almost become a code word for “Christian culture” in American society. On the Catholic side of things we have “Catholic Family Land” or The Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute, better known as “C-FAM.” The natural family unit—based on a husband and wife who have made an exclusive, permanent, public commitment to share a common life and raise children together—has been under such political and social pressure that at times we almost identify Christianity as a social movement to promote family life. In this context, this Sunday’s Mass Readings can be unsettling....

If you want to understand the appeal and success of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, you first have to get through the “sexy” part. From Glamour magazine, Vogue, Teen Vogue to Time magazine, for years the headlines have dripped with embarassing sexual dew. These Photos of Young Justin Trudeau are Breaking Hearts All Over the Internet, Time magazine declared in 2017. Glamour Magazine followed suit with: “Young Justin Trudeau was a Regulation Hottie.” Given this sort of press, it’s no wonder that Trudeau won Vogue Canada’s 2015 “Sexiest Man Alive” contest with his “sleek suits and swagger.” Even more embarrassing are...

MYKOLAIV REGION, Ukraine - On the front line in southeast Ukraine, there is little sign that a major counteroffensive is brewing. For weeks, Western intelligence and military analysts have predicted that a Ukrainian campaign to retake the strategic port city of Kherson and surrounding territory is imminent. But in trenches less than a mile from Russia's positions in the area, Ukrainian soldiers hunker down from an escalating onslaught of artillery, with little ability to advance. (clip) But time is slipping if Ukraine is to meet President Volodymyr Zelensky's stated goal of winning the war by the end of the year,...

The prices of second-hand luxury goods have fallen rapidly in China over recent months, as even the wealthy cut back on their discretionary spending and sell their Rolex watches and Hermès bags to raise cash. More than a dozen popular brands of luxury watches and bags have lost between 20 per cent and 50 per cent of their value on the secondary market since Shanghai, China’s financial and commercial capital, imposed a strict lockdown in March to crush a Covid outbreak. The restrictions in Shanghai and dozens of other regions have dealt a heavy blow to small business owners, many...

The European Court of Human Rights has dismissed the case of an Iranian convert to Christianity, who is appealing his deportation from Germany back to Iran, on the grounds of religious freedom... Hassan – whose name has been changed to protect his identity and is recorded only as “H.H” in public records – is a cabinet maker who applied for asylum in 2018 and is currently residing in Germany where he can freely practice his faith. After he, his wife and his family converted to Christianity, security forces in Iran stormed their house confiscated their books, computer, passports and Bible....

Does Donald Trump have Jeffrey Epstein’s list of clients? The Deep State, Bureaucracy, Swamp, Administrative State, Military-Industrial Complex, Democrats, Media, Establishment Republicans, and crew are acting like Trump is Satan incarnate. At this point their loathing seems overwrought, to understate it. Every norm is being thrown out for a man who governed in a perfunctory way. At first, the hysteria seemed just like partisan hyperventilating. Now, the actions are shrill hysteria. Only one thing causes this kind of collective freakout in Washington, D.C.: fear. What about Donald Trump makes these people so afraid? Thus, I return to my first question:...
