A new study published by researchers suggests that the common steroid betamethasone could be used to reduce unwanted side effects of radiation treatments for prostate cancer. The lab study led by Luksana Chaiswing, Ph.D., is the first to demonstrate that betamethasone protects normal prostate cells from injury induced by radiation therapy, while making the cancer cells more susceptible to the treatment. Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among men in the U.S. While radiation therapy is important to control the growth of prostate cancer, it presents a significant risk of increasing unwanted side effects, including injury...

In recent decades, the term “family values” has almost become a code word for “Christian culture” in American society. On the Catholic side of things we have “Catholic Family Land” or The Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute, better known as “C-FAM.” The natural family unit—based on a husband and wife who have made an exclusive, permanent, public commitment to share a common life and raise children together—has been under such political and social pressure that at times we almost identify Christianity as a social movement to promote family life. In this context, this Sunday’s Mass Readings can be unsettling....

From Glamour magazine, Vogue, Teen Vogue to Time magazine, for years the headlines have dripped with embarassing sexual dew. These Photos of Young Justin Trudeau are Breaking Hearts All Over the Internet, Time magazine declared in 2017. MYKOLAIV REGION, Ukraine - On the front line in southeast Ukraine, there is little sign that a major counteroffensive is brewing. For weeks, Western intelligence and military analysts have predicted that a Ukrainian campaign to retake the strategic port city of Kherson and surrounding territory is imminent. But in trenches less than a mile from Russia's positions in the area, Ukrainian soldiers hunker down from an escalating onslaught of artillery, with little ability to advance. (clip) But time is slipping if Ukraine is to meet President Volodymyr Zelensky's stated goal of winning the war by the end of the year,...

The prices of second-hand luxury goods have fallen rapidly in China over recent months, as even the wealthy cut back on their discretionary spending and sell their Rolex watches and Hermès bags to raise cash. More than a dozen popular brands of luxury watches and bags have lost between 20 per cent and 50 per cent of their value on the secondary market since Shanghai, China’s financial and commercial capital, imposed a strict lockdown in March to crush a Covid outbreak. The restrictions in Shanghai and dozens of other regions have dealt a heavy blow to small business owners, many...

Does Donald Trump have Jeffrey Epstein’s list of clients? The Deep State, Bureaucracy, Swamp, Administrative State, Military-Industrial Complex, Democrats, Media, Establishment Republicans, and crew are acting like Trump is Satan incarnate. At this point their loathing seems overwrought, to understate it. Every norm is being thrown out for a man who governed in a perfunctory way. At first, the hysteria seemed just like partisan hyperventilating. Now, the actions are shrill hysteria. Only one thing causes this kind of collective freakout in Washington, D.C.: fear. What about Donald Trump makes these people so afraid? Thus, I return to my first question:...

Jurors found the Senate Majority PAC made false and defamatory statements against Moore in the ad that attempted to capitalize on a sexual misconduct accusation made against Moore during the 2017 race, Yahoo News reports.

Former Vice President Al Gore said Friday on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” that he is “sure” Attorney General Merrick Garland, the Department of Justice, and the FBI acted totally appropriately in the investigation and raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, FL. Copper asked, “I do briefly want to ask you about just what we learned today from the Department of Justice. They removed 11 sets of classified documents from the former president’s Mar-a-Lago residence while executing a search warrant. What is your reaction to all we’ve learned? Does this make sense to you why a...

I love the ways cars have improved in my lifetime, the safety features, the remarkable mileage, the built-in navigation, but as I become more curmudgeonly, I also have to say that it’s become almost too simple to drive. You don’t need keys, you don’t need a map, and pretty soon you won’t even have to steer, brake, or even look at the road. And of course, almost no one has to shift anymore There’s a prediction that Mercedes Benz will sell its last manual transmission this year, that Volkswagen retire the gearbox in 2030, and soon, we will have a...
