African American soprano Angel Blue has said she will not perform in an opera in Italy this month because another production held at the theater earlier this year featured performers in blackface. The 38-year-old Grammy Award-winner announced she is bowing out of La Traviata at Verona Arena, in Verona, Italy, later this month. She blasted the theater as 'archaic' for mounting another Giuseppe Verdi opera, Aida, that featured performers in blackface. They include Anna Netrebko, a white Russian soprano, has been cast in the titular role of Aida in Verdi’s opera - despite the character being an Ethiopian princess. In...

When God says, "With his stripes we are healed" we need to understand his view of healing and not just ours because He has a broader view than ours. We only view healing by the physical, after everything has cleared up then we say we are healed. But, God calls you healed right in your condition He doesn't wait until something happens to your body. Because there is a spiritual side to healing and that's what He informs you of in your condition. Like, Jesus for instance Jesus didn't wait for something to happen with a persons flesh to call...

Mayor London Breed vetoed legislation that would have eliminated single-family zoning in San Francisco to allow fourplexes everywhere and six-unit homes on all corner lots.In her veto letter Thursday, Breed wrote that it was with “great disappointment” that she rejected the law, but argued that new requirements and financial barriers added by supervisors “will make it even less likely for new housing to be built under the ordinance’s provisions” than under current state law. “While I support the original intent of the ordinance to add new desperately needed housing options for San Franciscans struggling with the high cost of housing,...

On July 15, 2022, Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks, in coordination with the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), amended her original direction to the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence & Security by renaming and expanding the scope of the Airborne Object Identification and Management Group (AOIMSG) to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), due to the enactment of the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal 2022, which included a provision to establish an office, in coordination with DNI, with responsibilities that were broader than those originally assigned to the AOIMSG. Today, USD(I&S) Hon. Ronald S. Moultrie informed the...

Abstract The present study examined intergroup judgments made between four groups of non-meat eaters: health vegetarians; ethical vegetarians; health vegans, and ethical vegans. Consistent with hypotheses based on horizontal hostility and the need to maintain ingroup distinctiveness, ethical vegetarians gave unfavorable evaluations to health vegetarians relative to vegans, especially when the mainstream omnivore group was made salient. Contrary to expectations, vegans gave relatively more favorable evaluations to ethical vegetarians than health vegetarians when mainstream salience was low. This was especially true for vegans who were motivated primarily by ethical concerns. When mainstream salience was high, vegans did not distinguish between...

The election integrity group VoterGA has produced a new video on Georgia’s 2020 election, and the video shows obvious and massive voter fraud. This is one of the best videos that I’ve ever seen on how our elections are corrupted by using electronic voting machines. It covers the deceptive practices used in the election night vote, and the “risk-limiting” audit, and the machine recount. It’s the best use of 56 minutes of your life right now — especially before the 2022 midterms. Here are my favorite seven slides from the video. 1) VoterGA is being blocked from reviewing Georgia’s original...

Prosecution team rested its case Wednesday after two days, in federal court in Washington, D.C. Defense lawyers for Steve Bannon in closing arguments Thursday for the former Trump White House adviser argued their client is being deprived of his constitutional right to confront witnesses against him. The argument follows U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols denying Bannon access to House Democrats associated with the chamber's Jan. 6 committee including Chairman Bennie Thompson and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who organized the committee. "I do think we would be entitled to have the whole committee here, quite frankly," defense lawyer David Schoen argued....

Abortion advocates have been raising the alarm about the potential danger of health apps tracking women’s menstrual cycles for years, but the hysteria ramped up into overdrive when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. The theory is that data from the apps will be tracked, and authorities will be able to use that data to determine which women had illegal abortions. Leaving aside the fact that this is a myth, it’s incredibly interesting to know exactly who is sharing data about abortion on social media. Abortion is still legal in a majority of the states across the nation, and...

A woman who said she broke into the Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021, attack and searched the building for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with intent to shoot her "in the friggin' brain" was sentenced Thursday by a district judge to 60 days' imprisonment. The Justice Department said Dawn Bancroft, 59, was also sentenced to three years' probation, 100 hours of community service and a $500 fine. The sentencing by district Judge Emmet Sullivan comes nearly a year after Bancroft pleaded guilty in late September to a misdemeanor charge of illegally demonstrating, picketing or parading inside the Capitol, which comes...
