From North America to Asia, Europe to Africa, and nearly every corner of the planet, global superstar Kenny Rogers touched millions of people all over the world with his music for more than six decades. This was especially true in Jamaica as generations of Jamaicans, whose love of country music dates back to the 1950s when the Caribbean nation's first commercial radio station arrived in Kingston bringing with it an eclectic mix of country, pop, R&B, classical and more, grew up on Rogers' music, a staple on the radio as well as a fixture on the island's sound systems. Over-50s are resigning at an alarming rate and are unlikely to return to the workforceIf you thought it was only young people fleeing the workforce, think again. The UK is currently seeing a large number of over-50s resigning en masse from the workforce at a startling rate - known as a “silver exodus”. According to The Times newspaper, around 300,000 more workers aged between 50 and 65 are now considered “economically inactive” than before the pandemic, meaning that these older workers are neither employed or seeking a job. One would assume that this is a luxury afforded only to those...

Blinken Says 20M Tons of Grain Stalled in Odessa U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said pre-existing conditions, like COVID-19 and climate, in addition to the conflict in Ukraine, have created a "perfect storm" for a global food insecurity crisis. Blinken said there were already about 160 million people facing food insecurity around the world. An additional 40 million people has joined that group as a result of Russia's invasion into Ukraine. As Russia continues to attack one of the world's "breadbaskets," its ships are forming a blockade in the ports around Odessa. There are between 20 and 25 million...

There might be worse choices to lead President Joe Biden’s fight against inflation — Vice President Kamala Harris immediately comes to mind. But the role of Brian Deese in Biden’s new and belated “laser focus” on inflation is more proof that Sleepy Joe either doesn’t have a clue about policy, or isn’t serious about one of the most serious economic problems facing average Americans. Deese is a lunatic in charge of the asylum. His economic policies are among the big reasons we’re suffering with 8% inflation (a stealth tax on the working class) and markets are signaling a possible recession.

Barry Sussman, a key editor who helped oversee the reporting of Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein as they covered the Watergate break-in, has died. He was 87. Though not as well known as the more flamboyant Washington Post executive editor Ben Bradlee, Sussman played an indispensable role in the paper’s Pulitzer Prize-winning coverage of the scandal that resulted in President Richard M. Nixon’s 1974 resignation. As the District of Columbia editor, Sussman was part of the story from the very beginning, when the paper learned of a break-in of the Democratic National headquarters at the Watergate complex in Washington on...

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's proposed freeze on pistol sales has pushed some Canadians to rush out to gun stores while they still can Aman Sandhu checked store after store for a handgun in Canada's British Columbia, hoping to make a purchase before a freeze on sales takes effect, but struggled to find one in stock. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's proposed freeze on pistol sales--which he announced in the wake of a series of high-profile mass shootings in the United States--has pushed some Canadians to rush out to gun stores while they still can. While Sandhu is keen to buy a...

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced this week that his league lost “hundreds of millions” after Chinese TV outlets imposed a television blackout on all NBA games following Daryl Morey’s tweet in support of the pro-democracy movement in Hong Kong in 2019. Morey, then the General Manager of the Houston Rockets, wrote in October of 2019, “Fight for Freedom. Stand with Hong Kong.” The tweet was posted at a time when demonstrators in Hong Kong were protesting China’s ever-tightening grip on free speech rights in the former British colony. Those two simple sentences drew Beijing’s immediate and harsh reaction as the...

Kids are now in the (illegal) business of carrying out armed robberies -- at least according to cops in Michigan, backed by surveillance video that seems to show the smoking gun. A 12-year-old was arrested this week out in Hartford, MI after local authorities allege he carried out a gas station stickup job on Wednesday ... all while firing off a warning shot inside the establishment to make sure everyone knew he meant business. The horrifying moment was caught on tape, and it's about as dramatic as it sounds. The boy casually approaches the gas station clerk with a bag...

New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced the creation of a gun violence czar to address violent crime over the upcoming summer. In an executive order issued on Thursday, Adams named Andre Mitchell, a former felon and local anti-gun violence activist, to the post — Chair of the Mayor’s Gun Violence Prevention Task Force — on a volunteer basis. Mitchell is the founder of an organization, ‘Man Up!’ that was formed to stop shootings in urban communities. He founded the group after serving a prison sentence for first-degree manslaughter in 1992. “This is the civil rights battle of our lifetime,...

More inspiring words from Kamala Harris. Kamala Harris on Friday delivered remarks at the 90th Annual Meeting of the US Conference of Mayors in Reno, Nevada. Harris told the mayors it’s time to push for stricter gun laws as she rattled off the usual Democrat-Marxist talking points. “We need to take action. And we know it is even more clear this day, just after the massacre of those 19 babies in Uvalde, after the killing just two days ago in Tulsa of 4 people, and after the countless lives lost to gun violence every day on streets across America,” Harris...

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Saturday slammed Congress for being corrupt and full of “so much decay and moral emptiness” after failing to pass radical policies to fundamentally alter the nation. “It’s just really wild to be a person that works in a corrupt institution, which is what Congress is,” Ocasio-Cortez stated after Congress failed to pass socialistic policies last year. “And to try and be a normal person surrounded by so much decay and moral emptiness — that frankly transcends party — is very difficult,” Ocasio-Cortez said, clearly referring to both the Republican and Democrat Parties.

A teen who plowed over a mother and her 8-month-old infant was sentenced to “juvenile probation camp” thanks to Marxist Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon. The mother, identified as “Rachel,” was pushing her infant in a stroller down an alleyway when the teen sped up in a stolen vehicle and ran over her. “I thought those were the last moments of our lives; we were dead,” the mother, who asked to be identified only as Rachel, wrote in...
