Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky went on a big media tour to praise President Biden’s foreign policy, to take credit for a massive additional spending package for Ukraine, and to virulently attack the 11 Republican senators and 57 Republican members of Congress who voted against it. “McConnell Casts Ukraine Vote as Victory Over Republican Party’s Isolationist Wing,” touted the Wall Street Journal, using a derogatory and inaccurate term to describe the growing coalition that opposes Biden’s non-strategic foreign policy that appears untethered to any long-term national security interest. McConnell wants to be associated with the Democrats’ bill,...

DETROIT – Federal agents monitored a Detroit man’s Instagram account while he posted pictures of guns and drugs he wasn’t allowed to be around, claimed to be driving while high, threatened police, and tried to recruit others for an obvious unemployment fraud and identity theft scheme, according to authorities. (snip) On May 24, 2021, Otis posted a story at 11:45 a.m. with a message saying he was going to start shooting people for possessing guns and asking why they would hold a firearm if they weren’t going to use it, officials said. “I’m finna start shooting n----- just for holding...

The May primaries have already offered glimpses of what the next Senate could look like — including a potentially Trumpier Republican class. Many of the new crop of Republican candidates have strong ties to former President Donald Trump and his brand of politics, crediting him for their success. And because the Senate is currently evenly split 50-50, with Vice President Kamala Harris’ tie-breaking vote giving Democrats the majority, a gain or loss of even one seat could flip control of the chamber and decide the fate of the next two years of the Biden administration.

The college application season has long been notorious for the anxiety it instills in high school seniors, many of whom are seeking admission to schools they believe will determine their futures. This is why students and parents scrutinize the rankings that are released each year. They naïvely believe that these lists are gospel. What they don’t understand, however, is that the rankings, which first caught the public’s attention in 1983 with their publication in U.S. News & World Report, are based on debatable criteria and provide little value. The rankings themselves are questionable because of the way they are determined....

Zen and the Art of Motu Proprio Maintenance Cardinal Joseph Zen Ze-kiun’s arrest by the Chinese Communist Party puppets in Hong Kong nails one more scalp to the Communist Wall of Religious Persecution. Communists (and their fellow travelers worldwide) hate religion. Communists hate God. This is nothing new, and it will never change. Even before Cardinal Zen was thrown into a Communist dungeon in what was once one of the most vibrant and Catholic-friendly cities in East Asia, Communists have been gunning for anyone who believes in a higher power than the Party.True to form, those Communists are enthusiastic...

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE Novavax Inc. is still waiting for U.S. regulators to decide whether to authorize its COVID-19 vaccine, which some experts believe could serve as an alternative option for people who are hesitant to get a mRNA vaccine. Novavax’s vaccine, called Nuvaxovid, is a recombinant protein-based shot that is similar in design to a flu shot that’s been available in the U.S. since 2013. This type of vaccine has a different makeup than the mRNA vaccines developed by Moderna Inc. BioNTech SE and Pfizer Inc. as well as the adenovirus shot from Johnson & Johnson “I do think there is...

A veteran Russian legislator has issued an appeal to Vladimir Putin to stop military action, bring his troops home and end the war in Ukraine. Communist deputy Leonid Vasyukevich, 69, blasted the use of Moscow’s servicemen in Ukraine, as a Russian court dismissed more than 100 national guardsmen in the first case of soldiers refusing to fight in Ukraine as politicians demanded the army return home. Members of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, a separate military branch from the Russian army refused to carry out an assignment related to Moscow's 'special operation' in Ukraine. A military court in...

In February 2021, by order of President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine shut down three domestic television channels, accusing them of spreading Russian “propaganda.” Three months later, Zelenksky arrested Viktor Medvedchuk, who was at the time leading the second-biggest party in Ukraine’s national parliament, the pro-Russia and Eurosceptic Opposition Platform for Life (OPZZh). Zelensky didn’t have trouble incinerating vaunted democratic norms well-before Russia crossed the Rubicon into Ukraine this year. So it was no surprise when he did it again amid the war in late March, invoking emergency powers under martial law to nationalize TV channels and ban 11 opposition parties, including...

The manufacturer of an AR-15-style assault rifle that Salvador Ramos used to kill 19 kids and two teachers has been slammed for posting an online ad featuring a toddler clutching a similar weapon just days before the massacre. “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it,” Daniel Defense wrote in the ad shared on Twitter on May 16, eight days before the slaughter at Robb Elementary School. The line refers to a proverb in the Bible.

Americans’ Savings Rate Drops to Lowest Since 2008 as Inflation Bites. Yes, inflation really bites. In fact, as US inflation is near the 40-year high, US personal savings declined -65% YoY as consumers try to cope with rising prices. Its not only that personal savings is crashing in the face of inflation, revolving debt has soared as consumers try to cope with rising prices. I call this chart “The Biden Bowl.” Soaring consumer credit card debt with crashing personal savings.

Russia's armed forces have begun deploying sixty-year-old tanks to the southeastern regions of Ukraine, raising questions over the extent of Putin's losses after three months of bitter fighting and countless strategic blunders. A long line of T-62 tanks, which began production as early as 1961, was photographed at a train station in Ukraine's southeastern city of Melitopol on Wednesday, just days after footage emerged of the aged armour being pulled out of storage across the border.

America is transforming. And if you’re looking for an undeniable example, consider the creation of a specialized school. As relayed by WBHM, an academy’s been created specifically for gay youth and their LGBTQ peers. What’s perhaps most profound is the place of learning’s location: It’s nestled in the heart of Alabama. The Magic City Acceptance Academy (MCAA) is a public charter school that — though open for any and all who wish to apply — “has built affirmation for LGBTQ students into its very foundation.” It opened last fall with over 270 students. Some might assert that all schools are embedded with a rainbow...

@RepThomasMassie ZERO. That’s the number of murderers who have been deterred by the federal Gun-Free School Zones Act. The GFSZA was a knee jerk reaction in 1990 that has cost more lives than it has saved. REPEAL it now. Let bad guys know unceremonious death awaits them if they target our kids.
