KYIV/LONDON, May 10 (Reuters) - Ukraine said on Tuesday it would suspend the flow of gas through a transit point which it said delivers almost a third of the fuel piped from Russia to Europe through Ukraine, blaming Moscow for the move and saying it would move the flows elsewhere. Ukraine has remained a major transit route for Russian gas to Europe even after Moscow's invasion. GTSOU, which operates Ukraine's gas system, said it would stop shipments via the Sokhranivka route from Wednesday, declaring "force majeure", a clause invoked when a business is hit by something beyond its control. But...

President Biden on Tuesday tried to get ahead of Wednesday’s April inflation report with a speech rehashing his well-worn proposals to reduce prices: Boost subsidies, raise taxes, and increase regulation. He should take Jerry Seinfeld’s advice to George Costanza and do the opposite of his every policy instinct. The President again called on Congress to pass his Build Back Better, er, sorry, “Building a Better America” plan including more subsidies for green energy, electric cars, child care, housing and more. He also doubled down on his proposed billionaire’s tax—i.e., unconstitutional wealth tax—and Medicare drug price controls. Mr. Biden again blamed...

What does the Fed’s renewed commitment to low inflation signify for the future? Powell argued optimistically that “we have a good chance to have a soft or softish landing”. By this he meant that demand would be brought closer to supply, which could in turn “get wages down, and get inflation down without having to slow the economy and have a recession and have unemployment rise materially”. He also argued that “the economy is strong, and is well positioned to handle tighter monetary policy . . . but I’ll say I do expect that this will be very challenging”. The...

If great white sharks organize a race to the Cape ahead of summer, a nearly 11-foot sub-adult female is way ahead of the pack. The more than 600-pound great white named Andromache has quickly migrated north to her summer home. She was recently detected off of Martha’s Vineyard, according to the OCEARCH tracker — which shows her as the only OCEARCH tagged shark along the Massachusetts coast. Last week, it appeared that the monstrous 1,000-pound, 12-footer adult male named Ironbound would be the first OCEARCH shark to reach the Cape, but then Andromache popped up on the western edge of...

On Tuesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “New Day,” White House Council of Economic Advisers Chair Cecilia Rouse stated that inflation “has been the consequence of mounting an effective response to the pandemic.” Co-host Brianna Keilar asked, “I wonder, looking back, were Larry Summers and Joe Manchin right about spending and inflation?”

The only logical/honorable way out of this **** for Zelenski is sepuku...

A Vermont man was indicted Tuesday on charges that he let his mom drown in order to get his hands on his $7 million inheritance. Nathan Carman, 28, is facing eight counts in the 2016 murder of Linda Carman in Rhode Island in a bid for the titanic payoff.

Main point of the article:“PSR has [made] engineer’s trains almost impossible to control. Shareholders roll the dice with communities, cities and the environment daily. They don’t live here. Trains have more than doubled in length. Imagine a train 16,400 feet in length weighing 17,500 tons: That is three miles, 560 feet and 35 million pounds. One train. And it is hauling hazmat, tanks of say, chlorine gas, or anhydrous ammonia. Just one tank car alone weighs 131 tons, that is 262,000 pounds. To give an example from history, 262,000 pounds of chlorine gas is approximately two-thirds of what the German...

Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, one of just two nominally pro-choice Republicans left in the Senate, called the cops on Saturday night over a pro-abortion rights message written in chalk in front of her house in Bangor. According to Bangor Daily News, officers responded to a call at 9:20 pm on Saturday after the message "Susie, please, Mainers want WHPA —–> vote yes, clean up your mess" appeared on a public sidewalk on West Broadway street.

Explanation: Nebulas are perhaps as famous for being identified with familiar shapes as perhaps cats are for getting into trouble. Still, no known cat could have created the vast Cat's Paw Nebula visible toward the constellation of the Scorpion (Scorpius. At 5,500 light years distant, Cat's Paw is an emission nebula with a red color that originates from an abundance of ionized hydrogen atoms. Alternatively known as the Bear Claw Nebula and cataloged as NGC 6334, stars nearly ten times the mass of our Sun have been born there in only the past few million years. Pictured here is a...

False Tears: Vatican Promotes Whiny Homosex MythsFrancis' Synod of Synods published on SynodResources.org (May 6) three whiny “testimonials” to promote homosex adoptions. The first is about a pregnant mother who wanted to abort her baby but instead handed it over to two cohabitating homosexuals. Now, the boy is eight year old and must live with "two fathers."The second is about two miffed homosexuals who left the USA for Canada because they were “offended” by their Catholic parish. They "adopted" local teenagers with mental disabilities and now fancy that their sterile liaison is "truly life-giving” and an alleged fulfilling of “God’s call.”The...

On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Jose Diaz-Balart Reports,” Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) stated that one reason for the shortage of baby formula is “all the supply chain issues that are happening because we have an economy that basically shut down in the United States and around the world because of COVID. It needed to.” She also stated that the FDA’s delay in issuing a recall on contaminated formula and consolidation in the production of formula are other factors.

BUFFALO, NY: On December 2, 2021, G. Steven Pigeon’s life changed. The Erie County District Attorney charged Pigeon, 61, with rape and sexual assault of a child. The charges stemmed from a single incident that allegedly took place five years earlier. The District Attorney did not disclose the child’s name, age, or gender. However, the charges state the child was under 11 when the alleged incident occurred. The indictment alleges the incident happened between November and December 2016. The local media reported the child is a girl. The prosecution revealed at Pigeon’s bail hearing that she was a family member....

Businessman and billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates confirmed via social media early Tuesday evening that he tested positive for COVID-19.

[Catholic Caucus] Meet Francis, Worker Of Iniquity“God will not disoooown youuuu”But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.Luke 13:27These words, which probably every child knows who has been to catechism, are, very obviously, unknown to that evil piece of work sadly known as Pope Francis. Francis is, as you might know by now, trying to justify Father Georgina in the quite disquieting predilection of the latter – and I this point I would say, likely of the former, too – for homosexual “pastoral activity”, which indicates...

Members of the Jewish community of Louisville, Ky., are still in shock as they mourn the loss of their synagogue and community center, which was destroyed in a devastating fire on Saturday afternoon, April 23, even as they immediately begin a plan to rebuild it. On the eighth and final day of Passover, a day traditionally meant for rejoicing, Regional Director of Chabad of Kentucky Rabbi Avrohom Litvin and community members watched as fire rapidly spread through their community’s Chabad House. The fire, which initially began at around 4 a.m. the night before in the building adjoining the center, was...

“‘When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full’” (Matthew 6:5). Over the centuries, various questionable practices and attitudes have affected the prayer life of God’s people—ritualization, prescription prayers, limitations of time and place, the love of long prayers, and meaningless repetitions. But the worst fault was when God’s people prayed mainly to be noticed by others, especially by fellow Jews. This fault was...

God doesn’t want your home, car, furniture, savings or any of your possessions. All he wants is your faith, your strong belief in his Word. That may be the one thing that other, more spiritual-appearing people may lack. You may look at another person as being more spiritual than you, but that person may actually be struggling hard to keep up an appearance of righteousness. As God looks at you, he declares, “There is a righteous man or woman.” Why? You’ve admitted your helplessness to become righteous, and you’ve trusted in the Lord to give you his righteousness. Paul tells...

Jumi Bello’s essay about why she had plagiarized parts of her debut novel, which had been scheduled to come out later this year, was taken down Monday after the online piece was discovered to also contain plagiarism. The online magazine Literary Hub had published the essay, titled “I Plagiarized Parts of My Debut Novel. Here’s Why,” on Monday morning. Hours later, editors decided to pull the piece after several social media users pointed out similarities between Bello’s writing and other materials, top editor Jonny Diamond told the AP. According to Diamond, the plagiarized sections lifted from sources detailing the history...
