Americans want to honor the veterans and service members who sacrifice so much to defend our freedom. That’s why we have holidays like Memorial Day. Yet members of our military deserve more than speeches and parades. They deserve parental choice in education. “[W]hile our service members fight for our freedoms abroad, too many military families are denied education freedom at home,” according to former deputy U.S. Secretary of Education Mitchell Zais. And he should know: Zais served in the U.S. Army for 31 years and retired as a brigadier general. The lack of parental choice in education hits military families...

FORTRESS MONROE, Thursday, May 8, via BALTIMORE Friday, May 9. Shortly before noon to-day, the Monitor, Naugatuck, Seminole, Susquehannah, Dacotah and San Jacinto, in the order in which they are named, steamed up towards Sewall's Point, Capt. LARDNER, of the Susquehannah, in command of the expedition. As soon as within range, fire was opened with shot and shell against Sewall's Point. Most of the shots were good ones. It was nearly half an hour before a reply was made from the Point. The Rip Raps next opened fire, and then the Naugatuck for the first time. Several shots were fired...

Irony doesn't begin to explain why pro-choice activists chose Mother's Day weekend to picket the homes of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and Chief Justice John Roberts, who appear ready to overturn Roe v. Wade. In an age when there appear to be fewer consequences for violating moral or statutory laws, demonstrators and protesters outside the Supreme Court building seem to have violated at least two federal laws. In the abortion-at-anytime Biden administration, which refuses to enforce immigration laws, it seems unlikely these laws will be enforced. Here are excerpts from two federal laws should the Justice Department need to be reminded...

A new Pennsylvania Governor race primary poll has State Senator Doug Mastriano with a 10 point lead over Lou Barletta. Mastriano led the newly-released Trafalgar Poll with 27.6%, followed by Barletta at 17.6%. Dave White finished third with 15.1% and William McSwain received 14.4%. Jake Corman received 5.3%, Melissa Hart received 3.7%, Joe Gale received 3%, and Charlie Gerow received 2.1%. Just over 11% of voters said they were still undecided in the May 17 Republican primary. The poll was conducted between May 6-8 with 1,080 likely Pennsylvania Republican voters with a 2.99% margin of error. More than 82% of...

The news of the past few weeks has been all aflutter over Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter. The main issue for discussion has been, what does this mean for the future of free speech in the American public square? That’s an important issue, to which I don’t have the answer. I think that there are reasons for both optimism and pessimism. More on this issue later. A second issue is what Musk’s Twitter venture signals as to progressive fantasies about net zero utopia. This second issue has been little discussed, let alone recognized at all, in the recent press coverage....

Source: Townhall Media/Katie Pavlich>Just when you think the situation at the Southern border can’t get any worse, it does. Last week, Texas National Guardsman SPC Bishop E. Evans drowned attempting to save two migrants from drowning. It was later revealed the migrants “were involved in illicit transnational narcotics trafficking.” This tragic incident highlights a number of questions that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) needs to answer. So, what is DHS going to do about the border crisis? With Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas testifying on the Hill, the DHS produced a 20-page memo outlining his six-point plan to...

TUSK, a censorship-free web browser for conservatives with an emphasis on free speech, launched on Tuesday, allowing users to "browse right" on the internet. TUSK founder and Virtual World Computing CEO Jeff Bermant feels "most popular browsers and search engines are inherently left-leaning and biased" and he wanted to create a place where conservatives can see what like-minded people are saying. "TUSK was developed with the idea of free speech, because if you go to other browsers and you go to their news feeds, you'll find that its center left or it's left and you weren't getting the full story,"...

At least S&P 500 futures are up this morning, an opportunity to buy the dip. But on the housing front, we see that mortgage rates have pieced the 5.50% barrier and is now at 5.57%. On the rent side, apartment rents are growing at 19.3% YoY for both Class A and Class B units. Commodities are down this AM. WTI Crude is down -1.71%, iron ore is down -4.06% and nickel is down -6.29%. We now know that Anthony Fauci and other NIH scientists were receiving $350 million in “royalties” from 3rd parties. Think Pfizer and Moderna. Anthony Fauci, director...

The case of Crist Kolby and his probable death by a wolf was first written by W. R. Selfridge and published in 1943 in Alaskan Sportsman. It was published again in 1956 in the book Blood on the Arctic Snow and examined again in The Wolves of Alaska #ad: A Fact-based Saga by Jim Rearden, a legendary writer, scientist and historian in Alaska. This article relies on the account in Blood on the Arctic Snow, supplemented with analysis from The Wolves of Alaska and internet sources for the Ketchican Cemetary and the Thirteenth Annual Alaska Game Commission report, 1936-1937. In...

Never trust people who are called experts by others or who call themselves experts. Almost all have an agenda. Last week, the Federal Reserve raised rates one half percent and the stock market went up over 900 points. The "experts" on CNBC said that was because the market had priced in the increase. The next day, the market went down over 1,000 points. The experts were 100% wrong. In 1970, on the first Earth Day, the experts predicted billions would die from starvation because of an impending ice age. The experts were 100% wrong. In 1989, the experts at the...

Biden recently defended his support of infanticide by claiming to be a “child of God.” Strange assertions are not unexpected from Biden. His forty year political career has been characterized by gaffes, and his recent, precipitous mental decline has reduced him to a babbling chatterbox. But he did manage some rhetorical clarity recently, however disassociated from logic. “I believe I have the rights that I have not because government gave it to me, which you believe, but because I’m just a child of God; I exist,” Biden said during a press conference last Wednesday. Biden has famously defended his support...

Watched on Rumble after signing up at Dinesh.Locals. Here are some facts and the Deep Thoughts: 1) Is the movie reliable? Video footage monitoring ballot boxes are 100% verifiable -- these are footage the government is required to have at the ballot boxes. You can obtain this footage yourself through FOIA. 2) Why is the Left so eager to come out with "fact check"s on the film even from the day it came out? Did the Left ever do fact checks on Bowling for Columbine or Gore's Inconvenient "Truth"? 3) They set a very high standard to capture cheating behavior....

Censorship always does the opposite of its advertised goal: instead of eliminating disinformation, it enhances it. You really must wonder why the anti-liberty left tends to walk into logical brick walls. At least as of late, they’ve gone full tilt on the practice, pursuing certain trends and then turning around and condemning them. They are like the ‘Sideshow Bob’ character from the Simpsons, walking into a rake at every turn In the most recent case, they went and decided that disinformation is the existential threat of our time. Makes you wonder why they would want to highlight an issue in...

In a stunning landslide victory, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr won the Philippines’ presidential election, bringing him to the frontlines of US-China confrontations in the South China Sea amid early rumblings that he is Beijing’s puppet “Manchurian candidate.” Marcos Jr’s election advantage was that he is the son of his “idol,” the somewhat popular, late US-backed dictatorial president Ferdinand Marcos Sr and his flamboyant wife Imelda, who is now 92. ... Marcos Jr, convicted of tax evasion in 1997, faces multi-million dollar tax cases in the Philippines and the US over his father’s vast estate. China, meanwhile, denies it has any...

The Biden administration seems to have learned a lesson in Ukraine on how to support liberty and freedom movements. As a Libertarian-ish Republican, I share the concerns of many on the right that the United States needs to be careful not to be drawn into a war with Russia, yet I do agree that supporting the natural right of people exercising their rights to protect themselves is fundamental to the idea of freedom as recognized by the 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I am a conservative who is happy that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) made a trip to Ukraine...

The likelihood of cheating in November is looking ugly, and time is growing short for patriots to do anything about it. Dinesh D'Souza's film, 2000 Mules, was just released, and it is jaw-dropping. The level of questionable practices and outright cheating is staggering. To oversimplify: Using high-tech forensic geolocation, cell phone information was collected that proved that ballot drop-offs at multiple boxes miles apart by the same "mule" were in progress. A mule is a paid or unpaid person who (in this case) drops illegal ballots off at these drop boxes. SNIP It was not as though the mule hit...

Last week, sources leaked to The New York Times that, in Ukraine's targeting and killing of Russian generals and the sinking of Russia's Black Sea flagship, the Moskva, U.S. intelligence played an indispensable role. Apparently, our intel people identified and located for the Ukrainian forces what became the targets of their deadly attacks. Why U.S. intelligence would do this seems inexplicable. By claiming credit for Ukraine's most visible military successes, we diminish the achievements of that country's own forces. By bragging publicly that we helped engineer the killing of Russian generals and the sinking of the cruiser Moskva, we taunt...

The United States is treading deeper into the war in Ukraine, with President Biden signing the modern-day version of a bill that helped pull the country into World War II and Democrats in the House rushing to consider a substantial increase to the amount of money the nation is pouring into the conflict with Russia. The Ukraine Democracy Defense Lend-Lease Act, which Mr. Biden signed on Monday, paves the way for more weapons to be delivered quickly to Ukrainians for their fight against Russia. While Mr. Biden has sent troops to neighboring countries, he has stopped short of sending them...

Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi claim to be practicing Catholics, yet they and their fellow leftists have worked unrelentingly to drive God out of America's schools, government and public square. When Pelosi stands at the speaker's rostrum, a sign above her reads, "In God We Trust." With Biden as president, Pelosi as speaker and Democrats in control of Congress, that sign should read, "In Government We Trust." The actions of the left would be easier to take if their consequences were limited to the left, but this is not the case. All Americans suffer as a result of their perfidy....
