The harrowing final moments inside the Learjet 60 private jet that crashed to the ground in Florida on Sunday have been revealed in newly released cockpit audio.
The plane was carrying nine people when it plummeted out of the sky in poor weather conditions, just eight miles from Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, erupting into a colossal fire on impact near West Palm Beach.
Air traffic control audio revealed the female pilot relaying pivotal information to an operator just seconds before it abruptly plunged thousands of feet in a minute.
The controllers are describing 'moderate turbulence' before the pilot's tone swiftly descends into panic as she realizes something is wrong with the jet.
She is heard saying: 'Seven two two bravo delta, we're descending 8,000... mayday mayday... we're descending 10,000 ft per minute.
Seconds later, she screams 'declaring emergency, declaring emergency we are in an overspeed condition' before her voice breaks as she shrieks 'descending 20,000 ft per minute...we're going to crash into the ground.'
'I'm here with you, talk to me,' the air traffic controller says in an attempt to calm the situation.
'We are descending 22,000 ft, and we are banking 60 degrees.' This means the wings were tilted at a 60-degree angle, meaning the jet was nearly completely sideways .
'We’re out of time,' she screamed.
The Daily Mail has chosen not to publish the final seconds of audio which are extremely distressing.
All nine people on board were killed, Transport Secretary Sean Duffy confirmed.
The $2 million Learjet 60 crashed on the scorched roadside in Greenacres, Palm Beach County, the FAA said.

Can’t bear to listen...God rest their souls. 😢
May all souls on board rest in peace now.
The Lear 60 (last of the Learjets IIRC) has a flight crew of 2 and a relatively high accident rate.
“Air traffic control audio revealed the female pilot relaying pivotal information...”
In before the, ‘Free Republic He-Man Women Haters Club’ shows up in force. *Rolleyes*
RIP to all on board. Not a fun way to go.
They built 429 between 1991 and 2012 and this is the second incident.
The first incident was an abandoned takeoff crash where underinflated tires led the pilot to abort the takeoff.
This incident is likely due to weather and icing, not something specific to this plane.
WARNING !!! DO NOT LISTEN
“Distressing final cockpit audio as female pilot...”
Pilot Error. I was wrong. I had thought it was mechanical or weather.
RE: female pilot
IDK, someone on the other thread said that the co-pilot would be handling the radio communications.
Humanity needs both Men and Women.
No one should die this way. It is truly awful.
On X one person speculated that the pilot went into an updraft
Crashed into street.
Horrifying — not in the excerpt above, I think she screamed “we’re going to die, Jack”, but I don’t want to listen again.
Maybe Jack was the pilot?
Speculation is always worthless at this point, but high altitude and operating near Mmo while transiting moderate turbulence (which is never “moderate”!) can lead to a high speed stall esp on LR which would tuck in and...you can’t get out of it.
Well, one guy did, a long time ago. After trying A, B, C and then D, he got it: he dropped the gear.
Youtube video with video of crash and ATC at same time. Sad and terrifying. Up until somethinghappend she was having a pleasant exchange with the traffic controller. Something happened fast and catastrophic.

Quite the lurid headline.
Sophia Baum:
“Did I mention that the aircraft crashed just eight miles from Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate ?”
Condolences to families and friends.
Are you talking about a Lear incident or the 727 one?
The initial parts of the radio call sound more like icing. And yes, while speculation is just that, the most likely scenario is flying by autopilot into icing conditions and not being aware of it.
The autopilot can increase the angle of attack to correct for the tendency to descend. Since ice accumulating increases the stall speed, the wing my unexpectedly stall.
The radio call starts with the pilot or co-pilot asking ATC for temperature at their altitude, and then asking for a clearance to ascend above precipitation.
After the clearance to ascend, she described sharp banking which was likely after throttling up to gain altitude. She then described rapid descent and being unable to control the plane, pointing to a sharp stall. The autopilot may have already had the angle of attack approaching maximum and adding throttle tomahawked the plane over to one side. Once pointing downward while throttling up, the rate of descent would skyrocket.
