Sinn Féin will be the largest party in the Northern Ireland Assembly for the first time, pushing the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) into second place. Sinn Féin has 27 seats, compared to the DUP's 25. The result means Michelle O'Neill will be entitled to become first minister - unprecedented for a nationalist. Earlier, Ms O'Neill said it had been an election of "real change" and a "defining moment for our politics and for our people". "Today ushers in a new era which I believe presents us all with an opportunity to reimagine relationships in this society on the basis of...

Parents and politicians alike are slamming President Biden for his failure to address the US' ongoing baby formula shortage - with one distressed dad saying 'never did I think I would have a problem finding food for my baby in America.' The backlash against Biden comes as the formula shortage has reached crisis levels in recent weeks, with at least 12 states facing 40 percent or higher out of stock rates. As shelves across the country meant to carry formula remain largely barren, parents such as Russell Bleck, a husband and father in Lexington, Kentucky, have become desperate to get...

Women are being lulled into a false sense of security that IVF treatment will enable them to become middle-age mothers, a world-leading expert has warned. Professor Cornelis Lambalk, editor-in-chief of the influential medical journal Human Reproduction, said delaying parenthood as a result was a risky strategy. He was responding to a recent Australian study, published in Human Reproduction, which found use of 'assisted reproductive technology' (ART) in women over 40 has risen by more than half over the last decade. 'ART' is an umbrella term for medical techniques that aid conception, including in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection...

The controversy behind Kentucky’s state song is again brought to light, this time from a member of one of the most prominent families in Louisville history. Emily Bingham picked the lunch spot for our interview, and the choice of restaurant was smart and shrewd on her part. We slid into a booth at Wagner’s Pharmacy, a century-old place in Louisville’s South End that has transitioned over the years into a no-frills diner and gift shop. It is located across the street from Churchill Downs, feeding horsemen and racing fans soup and sandwiches and eggs and bacon. The place is a...

A group of radical pro-abortion activists blocked the entrance to Manhattan’s Basilica of Saint Patrick’s Old Cathedral days after a U.S. Supreme Court draft opinion leaked that signaled the Court will overturn Roe v. Wade. Pro-Life Catholics in the community have gathered for Mass and a rosary procession to a Planned Parenthood one block away from the church nearly every month for the past 14 years to protest this nation’s abortion laws. However, the group of Catholics were met by pro-abortion activists who blocked the church doors on Saturday. The pro-abortion radicals were reportedly singing and chanting, “Thank God for...

The Ukrainian air force’s best fighter jets just staged a daring raid on the Russian force occupying Ukraine’s strategic Snake Island. The raid marks a significant escalation of Ukraine’s air campaign targeting the Russian garrison on the island in the western Black Sea, 80 miles south of Ukraine’s strategic port Odessa. For at least a week now, Kyiv’s propeller-driven TB-2 armed drones have been waging a relentless defense-suppression campaign over and around Snake Island. The satellite-controlled drones with their 14-pound missiles have knocked out at least three air-defense systems on the 110-acre island as well as two Russian patrol...

A brutal sect of feared Chechen soldiers executed 'heavily wounded' Russian troops in a 'field hospital' that was situated northwest of Bucha, eyewitnesses have claimed. The Kadyrovtsy, who have been used as a PR tool in Vladimir Putin's war, allegedly murdered their own comrades and 'operated a torture chamber' in a glass factory on Yablonska Street - confirming previous reports by Ukraine's ombudsman for human rights, Lyudmila Denisova. Artem Hurin, a member of the city council of the neighboring town of Irpin who also serves as a deputy commander in Ukraine's Territorial Defense Forces, was one of the first to...

The Biden administration’s efforts to provide intelligence to Ukrainian forces has garnered attention this week as the war between Russia and the former Soviet state drags on through its third month. A report from The New York Times stated that intelligence provided to Ukraine by the United States helped to target and kill Russian generals. The Washington Post, among other outlets, reported that the U.S. provided intelligence to help sink a Russian flagship vessel in the Black Sea.

It’s one thing for perpetual adolescents to complain about a billionaire purchasing their favorite social media toy. It’s quite another for a former president and a former secretary of state to advocate destroying democracy in order to save democracy. But Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton did just that recently. On April 21, Obama spoke at a symposium Stanford’s Cyber Policy Center organized to address the problems social media pose. Among his recommendations, the former president advocated increased government regulation to combat what he called “toxic information,” which he defined as “lies, conspiracy theories, junk science, quackery, White supremacist, racist tracts,...

Democratic Party leaders might have fired up their own disillusioned voters after leaking a draft opinion of the Dobbs abortion case, but President Joe Biden has reminded conservative voters they really are despised and defamed as bad people by the political party preaching tolerance. In a question-and-answer session Wednesday with reporters, Biden was asked to respond to the legal impact if the U.S. Supreme Court strikes down the Roe v Wade decision as expected. “This is about a lot more than abortion,” insisted Biden, who said the conservative-leaning court is a threat to privacy and individual freedom in other landmark cases...

This most recent string of issues follows a massive outage spanning several hours on Friday night and into Saturday morning. Some players were unable to start Cloud Gaming sessions, launch digital games, make purchases, or even access streaming apps including Netflix and Disney Plus. Although Xbox seemed to resolve these problems, it looks like issues with its store, digital titles, and Cloud Gaming have started to resurface. As my colleague Tom Warren notes, if you’re affected by the outage, you should still be able to play games offline when you have your Xbox set as your “home” console. Xbox Support...

Everything always gets messy once kids get involved — especially when it comes to relationships and marriages. This story is no different — a 27-year-old man and his 26-year-old wife used to have a great relationship until one night, the wife “got drunk, had a one night stand, and got pregnant from it.” Now, he doesn’t know if he’s in the wrong for refusing to adopt a child that isn’t his. The affair occurred five years ago, and although they almost went through a divorce, couples therapy convinced them to stay together and try again — with some arrangements to...
