Ron DeSantis won his war against Disney today as he officially stripped the company of its 55-year-old special privileges that effectively allowed it to self-govern. The Florida governor wrote into law the plan which scrapped the Reedy Creek Improvement District, meaning the firm will no longer be able to govern itself. The Republican gave a rousing speech and smiled as he passed the bill alongside a crowd of clapping schoolchildren this afternoon. He slammed the firm for 'marshalling your economic might to attack the parents of my state', adding: 'We view that as a provocation, and we're going to fight...

While Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, works quite well for those on it, the problem with the platform is that it has let not that many people on, trying to slowly dribble a stream of users into the platform to ensure that it works correctly for all those posting on it. A good idea in theory, that’s been problematic for those that wanted to use the platform but have been stuck on a waiting list since the app was released on the app store, something that’s proven highly frustrating to many MAGA patriots that want to use the app...

The handyman killer who murdered Queens mom Orsolya Gaal has been living in the US illegally after moving to the US from Mexico 20 years ago. David Bonola, 44, slashed Gaal's throat then stabbed her in the body more than 50 times in a fury on April 15th. He then stuffed her body in her son's hockey bag and wheeled it down the street in Forest Hills, Queens, leaving it for a dog-walker to find the next day. Bonola was charged yesterday with the murder and with criminal tampering. He made a chilling confession to police on Wednesday night, then...

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signs today: (1) the new FL congressional map that creates four new GOP leaning districts; (2) a bill to remove Disney’s special districting exemption status; and (3) the “Stop Woke Act,” a bill banning discrimination, woke indoctrination and Critical Race Theory in schools, universities, and corporations. Do not miss the context for these events today, because both the venue and the participants tell a story. The public event was held in Hialeah Gardens, Florida, a predominantly Latino community. Standing alongside DeSantis was Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez and a host of Latino political officials. All of the...

After investing hundreds of millions of dollars CNN finally unveiled its new satire site CNN+. Unfortunately, only 3 weeks later CNN+ has been canceled—prematurely ending what was certain to be one of the funniest sites ever made. This sort of cancel culture censorship has been targeting comedians for too long, and it must stop. This is why The Babylon Bee has decided to formally take a stand beside our fellow satire site, CNN+. We too know exactly what it feels like to be suddenly canceled for the simple crime of bringing laughter to the world. When we heard CNN+ wasn’t...

President Biden’s approval numbers remain stuck at near-record lows as he faces a series of setbacks, according to a new poll. The latest Gallup survey released Friday finds that roughly 41 percent of U.S. adults approve of the job Biden is doing just over a year into office, about the same as previous surveys showing him underwater among the public.

Friday within the Octave of Easter John 21:1-14 Friends, today’s Gospel tells of the toappearance of the risen Jesus to seven disciples by the shore of the Sea of Galilee. Peter and six other Apostles were in a boat on the sea. Seeing Peter and the disciples in a boat, we are meant to think of the Church, and the peculiar number of seven—evocative of completion or fulfillment—is meant to make us consider the eschatological Church, the community of Jesus approaching the end of its journey. On the shore (though they don’t recognize him at first) is the Lord Jesus....

President Biden took aim at Republicans during a speech on Earth Day, telling his audience that today’s GOP “ain’t your father’s Republican Party” and accusing most Republicans in Washington of being too afraid of primary challengers to buck their party. “This ain’t your father’s Republican Party. Not a joke. All you got to do is look what’s being played this morning about the tape that was released – anyway,” Biden said in Seattle, making a passing reference to the uproar over a leaked recording of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) saying he planned to urge former President Trump to...

Unflinching from the disastrous result of the “experiment” that was CNN+, company man and host Brian Stelter was defiant on Friday’s edition of his dying streaming show, Reliable Sources Daily. He proclaimed it to be “a worthy venture” for the third-place cable network and suggested it was “too early to know” if the 1-month-old streaming service “was a success or a failure.” And he even lashed out at his new bosses at Warner Brothers Discovery for bringing “suffering” with them.

When the law is used to create and protect monopolies Disney is the result. They will be back at the public trough soon asking for further favors. We can end the corporate monopoly on the underlying characters and let the market decide if the characters created almost a 100 years ago should be woke Neanderthals. Free speech and all that stuff. No law should be used to create a monopoly and then the profits siphoned into some political campaign. "Disney’s copyright for Steamboat Willie will expire on January 1, 2024 and this original iteration of Mickey Mouse will fall into...

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Pamela Moses will not be tried a second time for illegally registering to vote. Shelby County District Attorney’s Office gave this statement: “Our original offer to the defendant Pamela Moses was a guilty plea to a misdemeanor and no time to serve. She rejected that offer and asked for a jury trial. At the conclusion of the week-long trial, the jury convicted her on the felony charge of false entry on permanent voter registration. She was taken into custody and spent 75 days in jail before Judge Ward granted her motion for new trial. In total,...

NEW YORK (AP) — The Edsel. Quibi. New Coke. The Segway. DeLorean sports cars. The pantheon of colossal business failures has a new member in the CNN+ streaming service. The news network’s subscription offering hadn’t even been operating for a month before Warner Bros. Discovery announced this week that it would be shutting down on April 30. “It’s going to be in the Top 10,” said Steve Rosenbaum, executive director of the NYC Media Lab and an expert in business innovation, surveying the lengthy history of products that went belly-up. While “CNN minus” comments quickly proliferated, it’s no joke to...

Republicans in the U.S. House sent Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger a letter flagging a report that a voter-education initiative spearheaded by Stacey Abrams is teaching students the state’s laws restrict voting, The Washington Times reported Thursday. The letter, written by Reps. Rodney Davis of Illinois and Virginia Foxx of North Carolina, asked Raffensperger how he plans to combat the initiative, which is taught in Atlanta’s public schools, The Washington Times reported. It was also sent to members of the Georgia State Elections Board and the chair and vice-chair of the Fulton County Elections Board, the Washington Times reported.

WASHINGTON — Does the Biden administration really want and intend to fight for a higher court reversal of the ruling this week striking down its mask mandate on airplanes, trains and other public transportation — as its high-profile appeal of the case seemed to suggest? Legal specialists raised another possibility Thursday: The administration may instead be buying time and thinking about trying to erase the ruling — a move that would allow it to protect the powers of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to respond to a future crisis — but without reviving a mask mandate. The tell,...

The practice of billionaire NFL owners convincing state politicians to give them hundreds of millions in taxpayer money to subsidize their stadiums is alive and well. The latest example of this can be found in Tennessee, where the state legislature – House and Senate – passed a budget that includes $500 million for a new Titans stadium in Nashville, according to the Tennessean.

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio — He was lagging in the polls. His cash was running low. With the state’s primary fast approaching, J.D. Vance’s chances of winning the Ohio GOP Senate nomination didn’t look promising. But his fortunes have changed dramatically in just the last week since Donald Trump delivered his endorsement, an intervention that has upended one of the most contentious Republican primaries in the nation. More than $5 million in new donations have poured into a pro-Vance super PAC — just weeks earlier, it had spent nearly all of its available funds. Vance, the author of the book “Hillbilly Elegy,”...
