What’s really driving this proposal is not substantive policy considerations, but the senator's deeply ingrained propensity toward class warfare and envy.High gas prices and runaway price inflation more broadly are top-of-mind for many Americans right now. As a result, progressive politicians are feeling the squeeze to explain why the federal government’s money printing and deficit spending aren’t to blame. And if Bernie Sanders’ latest radical proposal is anything to go by, some of them are getting pretty desperate. The Vermont senator just unveiled a proposal for a 95 percent tax—yes, 95 percent!—on business profits above their pre-pandemic levels. This comes...

President Joe Biden announced a reboot of his administration’s coronavirus response on Wednesday and got his fourth shot of the vaccine. Despite 14 months of failing to end the coronavirus crisis, after repeatedly promising to do so in his 2020 campaign, Biden stressed the pandemic was not “over” and warned of future variants affecting Americans.

After more than six hours of debate Tuesday, California’s reparations task force voted that only Black Californians who can prove a direct lineage to enslaved ancestors will be eligible for the statewide — and first-in-the nation — initiative to address the harms and enduring legacy of slavery. The nine-member task force voted 5-4 in favor of defining eligibility for reparations based on lineage “determined by an individual being an African American descendant of a chattel enslaved person or the descendant of a free Black person living in the US prior to the end of the 19th century,” the motion read....

The deal was years in the making, the culmination of forging contacts, hosting dinners, of flights to and from China. But on Aug. 2, 2017, signatures were quickly affixed, one from Hunter Biden, the other from a Chinese executive named Gongwen Dong. Within days, a new Cathay Bank account was created. Within a week, millions of dollars started to change hands. While many aspects of Hunter Biden’s financial arrangement with CEFC China Energy have been previously reported and were included in a Republican-led Senate report from 2020, a Washington Post review confirmed many of the key details and found additional...

“Faith for a Complicated World” (Luke 23:1-25) The world around us is a complicated place that can be hard to figure out. Life sometimes sends us a fair amount of pain and suffering. Whether you’ve come through a lot or been spared a bit, we all know this. And it can be perplexing. For instance, we can pray to God, but what about the prayers where he says, “no”? Or the prayers that seem to be met with silence? So it’s complicated, and we don’t know all that we’d like to know about how it all fits together. The world...

Journalist Bob Woodward said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” that former President Donald Trump’s rhetoric instigated “the whole insurrection.” Mitchell said, “The entire day is wiped out, from 11:00 in the morning until 6:00 at night. The entire period of the insurrection, the lead up to the insurrection, and the multiple video replays where he was being, you know, urged by almost everyone to comply. We know that there were calls because we even know that Kevin McCarthy and others on the Hill were calling him and getting calls from him.”

The hugely popular, and hugely controversial, podcast host is threatening to quit the music streaming giant, leaving their $200 million deal on the table. During a recent episode of “The Joe Rogan Podcast,” the former mixed martial arts commentator got into a conversation with MMA fighter Josh Barnett about the cutthroat podcast industry ring. “I will quit. If it gets to a point that I can’t do it anymore, where I have to do it in some sort of weird way where I walk on eggshells and mind my p’s and q’s, f–k that!” Rogan said.

A new study by researchers at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh offers insight of how and where automation might replace operator hours in long-haul trucking. The study found that 94 percent of operator hours may be impacted if automated trucking technology improves to operate in all weather conditions across the continental U.S. Currently, automated testing is mainly being tested in the sun belt states due to the more predictable and less harsh weather. Sun belt states include Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma,...

House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is the most unpopular Democrat politician, a Tuesday National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) poll revealed. Pelosi’s favorability is only 34 percent, with 48 percent disapproval, a negative net unfavorable rating of 14 percentage points. Pelosi’s favorability rating has decreased since the NRCC began polling the question. In February 2021, 41 percent of voters approved and 52 percent disapproved of Pelosi, an 11- point gap. Pelosi’s numbers are far worse than both the president and vice president. Much of Pelosi’s unlikability is because of corruption. In 2021, Pelosi disclosed her husband Paul Pelosi traded stocks...

No Free Thinkers Need ApplyEquity advocates have captured the field of public health.Utah and Minnesota have abandoned their controversial guidelines that made race a factor in deciding who receives Covid treatment, but it’s worth asking how such policies could have been passed in the first place. Part of the answer lies in the standards that inform public-health education and practice. Today, for anyone working in public health, embracing “health equity” has become a professional requirement. In 2016, the Council on Education for Public Health—the agency that accredits schools of public health—updated its requirements to emphasize the importance of “health equity.” According...

After calling out crew members for violating COVID safety protocols, Cruise became a hero to others who 'tried to persuade people flouting coronavirus precautions to protect themselves and others'A new report raises questions about Tom Cruise’s presentation of himself as the safety-conscious star of “Mission: Impossible 7,” who was so vehement about protecting the production from COVID-19 that he notoriously yelled expletives at crew members who purportedly violated COVID safety protocols. Indeed, the investigative report by the Hollywood Reporter said it is believed that Cruise didn’t get the COVID-19 vaccine, at least as of June 2021. That means he...

Democrat gubernatorial hopeful Rep. Charlie Crist (D) said this week that it is a “grim day” in Florida because Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) signed legislation barring age-inappropriate classroom discussions on sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten classrooms. “It’s a grim day for Florida. Today especially, I want our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters in Florida and across the country to know that they are loved and will always be welcomed in the Sunshine State,” the Democrat and former Florida governor said on the day DeSantis signed the Parental Rights in Education act, essentially mourning for LGBT Americans and repeating the...

CNN's John Harwood could be the biggest pro-Biden hack in the liberal media. Appearing on New Day, Harwood dismissed the significance of the Justice Department's investigation of Hunter Biden: "Until you make...a nexus between what Hunter Biden has done, and official activities of Vice President Biden or President Biden, it's a not pretty picture, but it's really not of much public import...But so far, there is zero evidence that Vice President Biden or President Biden has done anything wrong in connection with what Hunter Biden's done." Harwood also tried to invoke sympathy for Hunter, saying he's had a "difficult life."...

By every single metric, the Democratic Party is going to have a brutal year. At this rate, it wouldn’t shock me if the Republicans clinch a veto-proof majority in the House. It’s that bad. Joe Biden is that bad. Yet, the fight continues. The progressive Left is gearing up for battle for the 2022 midterms and they’ve secretly cultivated social media communities to help combat GOP messaging. Will it work with the high inflation, high gas prices, the supply chain crisis, the border crisis, the Ukraine war, and Joe Biden’s approvals being overall hot garbage? Probably not. None of what...

Police in New York City are hunting for a woman with bright orange hair who smashed the window of a yellow taxi with a cinder block to steal an iPhone and $40 in cash. The brazen broad-daylight theft happened on Thursday, in midtown Manhattan. The driver of the yellow taxi had parked his car on West 37th Street, between Ninth and 10th avenues, and left it to use the restroom. Security camera footage showed the woman approach the car carrying the cinder block. She hurled it at the drivers' side window, and then clambered through the broken window to steal...
