Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has a good idea with his budget proposal to create an “election crimes agency” that would “investigate election crimes and irregularities and make referrals for further legal action directly to a statewide prosecutor.” Florida should implement it, and other states should follow. In fact, state legislators should make sure that a statewide prosecutor’s office has jurisdiction to prosecute all such election cases, especially when local prosecutors fail to act. Ensuring the integrity of elections and protecting voters from fraud is simply too important to leave the investigation and prosecution of crimes that subvert elections to the...

Roughly 1 in 6 Americans believe there may be a path to replace President Biden with former President Trump before the next presidential election in 2024, according to a new Monmouth University poll released on Thursday. Evangeline Lilly is at it again. In a recent Instagram post, the Lost and Ant-Man and the Wasp actress said she traveled to Washington, D.C. this weekend to speak out in support of “medical sovereignty”—in other words, to protest vaccine mandates. Lilly attended the same protest where speaker Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a notorious anti-vaxxer, compared vaccine mandates to the Holocaust. Lilly wrote Thursday that she believes “nobody should ever be forced to inject their body with anything, against their will” under threats including “violent attack,” “arrest or detention without trial,” homelessness and starvation, and “excommunication from society.” (Note: Nobody...

A 'super-vaccine' that would work against all existing and future coronaviruses is taking another step in its trial process, being tested in humans now. The proposed jab would not only be effective against Covid, and all of its variants, but also other types of the virus like SARS-CoV and other potential mutations of the coronaviruses that could emerge as well. Earlier this month, the World Health Organization's Technical Advisory Group on COVID-19 Vaccine Composition (TAG-CO-VAC) released a report saying the frequent vaccine development and rollout is not a 'sustainable' way to handle the virus going forward.

The American policy makers are diverting attention from the real cause of inflation — excessive expansion of money supply Although inflation is a common phenomenon in most countries of the world including India, many past generations of Americans have never suffered the brunt of inflation. But in the last one year, the rate of inflation in America has reached around seven percent, and that has started affecting the lives of ordinary Americans. Ruling Democrats are fearing the consequences of the same in the 2022 mid-term elections. On the one hand, Covid-19, which has destroyed the jobs of 22 million Americans,...

The U.S. economy grew last year at its fastest pace since 1984, rebounding from a sharp but brief coronavirus-induced recession in March 2020. The nation's gross domestic product, a measure of all goods and services produced, expanded by 5.7 percent in 2021, the Commerce Department reported Thursday. Growth accelerated even faster during the period from October to December, rising to 6.9 percent on annualized basis. With inflation running hot and Covid-19 cases from the highly contagious omicron variant filling overworked hospitals and keeping workers at home, the economy is expected to grow at a slower rate in 2022. Economists have...

Pope: Church courts must never manipulate facts for a desired endVATICAN CITY (CNS) — The promotion of justice, including in marriage tribunals, requires a “synodal spirit” of pastoral accompaniment, heartfelt listening and using “the right reasoning” in discernment, Pope Francis said. This attitude of synodality, he said, “allows for bringing out the essential characteristics” of the judicial process, which is to be at the service of a justice that is inextricably linked to truth and the salvation of souls. In fact, “any deliberate alteration or manipulation of the facts, aimed at obtaining a pragmatically desired result, is not permissible,” he said. This...

Peter Schweizer’s new book Red-Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win tells the story of how Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s (D-CA) husband Richard Blum was part owner of a Chinese firm that allegedly sold computers with spyware chips to the U.S. military. The military has never been able to calculate how much sensitive data these computers allowed China to steal. A hefty chapter of Red-Handed is devoted to tracking Feinstein’s long and expensive relationship with Communist China. In a total coincidence that could not possibly have been related in any way to Feinstein’s friendship with the tyrants of Beijing,...

Explanation: South of the large star-forming region known as the Orion Nebula, lies bright blue reflection nebula NGC 1999. At the edge of the Orion molecular cloud complex some 1,500 light-years distant, NGC 1999's illumination is provided by the embedded variable star V380 Orionis. The nebula is marked with a dark sideways T-shape at center right in this telescopic vista that spans about two full moons on the sky. Its dark shape was once assumed to be an obscuring dust cloud seen in silhouette. But infrared data suggest the shape is likely a hole blown through the nebula itself by...

Key conservatives are panning Mitch McConnell’s decision against offering an alternative agenda to voters if Republicans reclaim control of the U.S. Senate later this year. While GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy has begun putting forward outlines of legislation he’d pursue in a Republican-led U.S. House, McConnell has demurred at that approach, preferring to stick to a playbook of battering weakened Democrats. “I think this is another example of McConnell being out of step with the Republican Party. He doesn’t want to run on an agenda, because he wants to control things afterwards. Everybody from McCarthy to Donald Trump, every candidate is...
