“Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil” (Matthew 4:1). Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness did not catch His Father by surprise. The Son was specifically “led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.” The word translated “tempted” is from a morally neutral term that means “to test.” But sometimes, as here, the context clearly indicates that the testing was aimed at enticing one to do evil. That the devil was going to present certain temptations to Jesus thus justifies rendering the word “tempted”—it gives...

Hunter Biden referred to Massimov in a 2016 email as a "close friend." Former Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov, a known Biden family business associate, was detained Saturday on suspicion of treason, according to an announcement from the Kazakhstan National Security Committee, a body he chaired until this past week. Local media report at least 164 people have died as a result of riots that broke out Jan. 2 following an increase in fuel prices. An unverified photo shows then-Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden flanked by then-Prime Minister Massimov and Kazakh oligarch Kenes Rakishev in the...

American Airlines apologizes about pilot with ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ sticker American Airlines (AA) went viral after responding to a Twitter user Saturday who complained about a pilot because he had a “Let’s Go Brandon” sticker on his luggage. A Twitter user who has since made her Twitter account private took a picture of the sticker and sent it to the airline, asking if they accept “cowardly rhetoric on their crew luggage when they’re in uniform.” “We are not the only passengers who noticed and were disgusted,” the user added. The official Twitter account of AA responded to the user’s public...

Are they kidding? The Washington Post reports that the Joe Biden White House will soon ask Congress for even more money to battle the COVID-19 pandemic. More money, that is, than the $5.4 trillion already allocated by Congress via six separate pieces of legislation over the past 24 months, an unprecedented and dangerous sum that is spurring inflation and keeping people from going back to work. A sum greater than what was spent fighting World War II or the Great Depression that somehow, according to Biden officials, has failed to adequately provide for COVID testing and remedies. This has to...

The US Navy said it was expanding it's eight-week boot camp program to include two more weeks of classes focusing on suicide prevention, sexual assault, hazing and racism. The change, the first major overhaul in nearly 20 years, comes as the Navy grapples with major shipboard issues over the years that include failures to address sexual assaults, fires and deadly collisions and the rise of extremism within the ranks.

Sonia Sotomayor’s ludicrous claim before her Supreme Court peers during oral arguments that one hundred thousand children were “in serious condition” from COVID-19 when three thousand would have been more accurate, is far more than just an embarrassment to the justice. How could such an ill-informed person be a justice of our highest court? What else doesn’t she know—or, perhaps more exactly, doesn’t want to know? Her full quotation makes it sound still worse. “We have hospitals that are almost at full capacity with people severely ill on ventilators. We have over 100,000 children, which we’ve never had before, in...

Pope Francis said getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is a "moral obligation" as part of caring for the health of oneself and others and urged on international efforts to vaccinate the world's population. In a speech to diplomats assigned to the Vatican, the pope said the COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause social isolation and to take lives but noted effective vaccinations have effectively lowered the risks from the disease. He said it was important to vaccinate the general population as much as possible, calling for a broad commitment on the personal, political and international levels...

Last December my wife and I had diagnosed cases of COVID. We are both in our 50's, relatively healthy and like many the symptoms were comparably to a bad flu. After recovering we chose different options, she chose to be vaccinated and was boosted last month. I chose to not risk the vaccine and to trust in natural immunity.Last week we were supposed to fly, I had a cough, my wife insisted I get tested for COVID before flying. I thought it was just allergies, but I ended up testing positive for COVID. My wife then tells me that she...

Are you a freshly-minted Ph.D. holder interested in becoming a tenure-track computer science professor at UNC-Chapel Hill? First, you’ll have to submit a “diversity statement” describing your “commitment to diversity.” Candidates seeking to be an assistant professor at Boston University’s business school should include references to the “diversity contributions” they would bring in their cover letter, taking care to demonstrate that they fall in line with the college’s “institutional commitment” to maintaining an “inclusive, equitable, and diverse” campus. Anyone applying for open tenure-track positions in George Mason University’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Department will be “expected” to “embrace” and “advance”...

Horrifying footage has captured the moment a teenage mother hurled her newborn baby into a dumpster - before the infant was found alive hours later. Surveillance video shows a woman arriving in a car before opening the back door and tossing a black trash bag into a dumpster in Hobbs, New Mexico, at around 2pm on January 7. Six hours later, footage showed three people looking through the dumpster before one of them found the infant inside. Incredibly, the newborn was alive and is now in a stable condition while being cared for in hospital.

In case you doubted my original report of the Utah Department of Health survey re. eligibility for monoclonal antibody treatment favoring minorities, I submit this:In New York, racial minorities are automatically eligible for scarce COVID-19 therapeutics, regardless of age or underlying conditions. In Utah, "Latinx ethnicity" counts for more points than "congestive heart failure" in a patient’s "COVID-19 risk score"—the state’s framework for allocating monoclonal antibodies. And in Minnesota, health officials have devised their own "ethical framework" that prioritizes black 18-year-olds over white 64-year-olds—even though the latter are at much higher risk of severe disease. – Washington Free BeaconI recall...

These little wheelguns pack more punch than .22 LR pistols. But is it enough to get the job done? In a previous article we took a closer look at using .22 LR pistols for self defense. The conversation was inspired by the release of new rimfire models that look and carry like center-fire models. However, the second most popular rimfire rifle cartridge in the United States, the .22 WMR, has also been pressed into service as a low-recoil defensive option. More commonly known as the .22 Magnum, or just .22 Mag., this rimfire cartridge is carried more often than some...

Dr. Vladimir Zelenko became a hero for his early use of hydroxychloroquine to fight COVID. Sadly, his efforts were halted by a Democrat governor. But Dr. Zelenko didn’t stop. He kept working — and found an over-the-counter way to help people. Watch: Here is Dr. Zelenko talk about “the bullet and gun” approach for understanding zinc ionophores (transcript of highlights is below): Here is a transcript of highlights from the video: Dr. Zelenko: “Zinc is the bullet – it kills the virus. The only problem is the bullet doesn’t get to the place where it needs to be. The virus...

Alec Baldwin refuses to turn his phone over to investigators, who have a warrant to seize it. They believe it could provide evidence clarifying the chain of events that led to the shooting death of a cinematographer on the set of the film “Rust” in New Mexico in October. And yet, in a video the actor posted to Instagram, he’s “demanding” law enforcement “honor the death” of the cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, by finding out “the truth.” Which, presumably, isn’t on his phone. The Instagram video came after a Friday New York Post report in which legal experts contacted by the...

Since 1960, federal civil rights law has required state and local election officials to “retain and preserve” records relating to elections involving federal officeholders for 22 months after ballots are cast. That would seem to be a good thing as Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger embarks on an investigation into whether third-party liberal activists in 2020 illegally gathered and delivered absentee ballots for voters — a practice known as harvesting that is outlawed in the Peach State. But some of Georgia’s largest counties tell Just the News that they no longer possess evidence that could be helpful to probing...

Savannah Guthrie has tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19 — more than a week after her 50th birthday party. -snip- Guthrie’s diagnosis comes after her husband, Michael Feldman, threw her a belated birthday bash on New Years’ Eve — despite the rise of coronavirus cases in New York. A source close to Guthrie, who turned 50 on Dec. 27, and Feldman, 53, exclusively told Page Six at the time that the two were planning on going “above and beyond” to follow COVID-19 protocols. We’re told only 60 people were invited, including family members, close friends and some colleagues...
