The US Navy said it was expanding it's eight-week boot camp program to include two more weeks of classes focusing on suicide prevention, sexual assault, hazing and racism.
The change, the first major overhaul in nearly 20 years, comes as the Navy grapples with major shipboard issues over the years that include failures to address sexual assaults, fires and deadly collisions and the rise of extremism within the ranks.

I’m curious about how classes on racism will help avoid “deadly collisions”.
they are being taught not to fire on anyone of a different race, white is ok to shoot, no others. So shoot white Russians, but not ‘yellow’ Chinese. Seems racist to me.
Maybe we’ll just lose a “minor” war to somebody like Iran.
Oh for crying out loud. My son is due to graduate this Friday from Navy boot camp. They better not extend his time there because I just talked to him and he says they are all chomping at the bit to get out of there.
Take the women off the ships and it all goes away.
If they are fighting under the Soviet flag they won’t shoot at them because they are Communists. And that’s what Russia would fight us under.
This wouldn’t be “needed” if there was real leadership in the Navy that focused on things like mission, readiness, skills, and discipline.
I wonder how many days they are taught about using “proper pronouns”.

Basic Training isn’t about training; it’s about weeding out unwanted candidates. This additional “training” is about seeing who is not woke enough to join the new Navy.

Several things to run into but a seamount wasn’t one of them.
I disagree that Basic Training isn’t about training. Lots of essential and foundational things are taught in boot camp. That said, your second point was spot on.
I can’t stand it anymore.
We are going to lose, and we are going to lose big. There will be bloodshed.
The people who advocated for females in combat and transsexuals and homosexuals in the military who are responsible for this will be nowhere to be found. We will have all the articles talking about how allowing women to serve in combat, and how transsexuals and homosexuals serving in any capacity openly somehow made the warfighting capability better, but nobody will attribute failure in combat to those things.
It will be attributed to every damned thing under the sun but those things.
The point is, even one damn second dedicated to diversity BS is a second taken away from damage control, warfighting, or other tasks NECESSARY for a military to function.
This just makes me sick.
