"You might want to consider homeschooling now more than ever." A look at just how far we have allowed our freedoms to be ripped away and how it affects our children. Lockdowns, masks, forced virtual learning, extracurricular activities, and sports canceled; it is no surprise there has been a rise in homeschooling. Homeschooling has been a controversial issue for decades worldwide; however, after watching leftist politicians bring hot political topics such as Critical Race Theory (CRT) into the classroom, many parents have started considering taking their kids out of government-run schools; due to indoctrination or already have started homeschooling. The...

Prof. Jennifer Bates and her coworkers, Kelly Wilcox Black and Prof. Kathleen Morrison... explore charred lumps from the site of Kadebakele, in southern India... The site dates from around 2,300 BCE to CE 1600 or so, but these data are from the Early Iron Age, about 800 BC. Charred lumps are usually seen as not identifiable, but using high-quality imaging, they were able to show that (some of) these are charred remains of dough or batter; these would have been used to make bread-like dishes. Comparing the data with experimental studies done another lab group, they identified two kinds of...

Israel announced on Tuesday that the country will begin allowing same-sex couples, single fathers and transgender individuals to pursue parental surrogacy. The news was delivered by Israeli health minister Nitzan Horowitz, who said the rules will take effect on Jan. 11. The health ministry said the new rules will allow equal access to surrogacy across Israel. Parenting children through surrogacy had previously been banned for same-sex couples, single men and transgender people in Israel. Israel's highest court ruled last February that the ban was unconstitutional and current laws stipulate that surrogacy for parenthood is open only to heterosexual married couples...

A reporter asked during Wednesday's White House press briefing why President Joe Biden has not focused more on scolding Americans who are not vaccinated for COVID-19. Press Secretary Jen Psaki replied by noting a majority of Americans have gotten a least one shot in the year President Joe Biden has been in office. The increased hostile rhetoric against those who are not vaccinated comes as the United States, and much of the world, is grappling with increased COVID-19 cases spurred by the Omicron variant. Though a milder strain, it is more infectious and those who are vaccinated can still contract...

All, I just tested positive for COVID. I am unvaccinated. I knew I had it for about a week already. I got it from someone in a church in which I was the guest preacher. I had chills and a slight fever, but still managed to preach my sermon. Most importantly, I’m still alive! Thank You, Jesus! Question. Is there a chance of me getting reinfected?

“After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water” (Matthew 3:16). Christians, especially new believers, sometimes wonder what mode of baptism Jesus underwent, and therefore wonder which is correct for them to experience. Since genuine baptism represents cleansing from sin and symbolizes the believer’s identification with Christ’s death and resurrection, the ordinance must involve immersion, not merely sprinkling or pouring. The Greek word (baptizo) literally means to dip or submerge an object into water or another liquid. Confusion regarding the word’s meaning resulted largely because Latin and more modern-language translations of Scripture simply transliterated many occurrences of the Greek...

When Daniel and his three friends were taken captive along with thousands of their countrymen, what they saw when they first arrived in Babylon must have shocked them beyond belief. It was a society so loose, immoral and full of idolatry that these four men’s spiritual sensibilities were assailed. Daniel and his friends made a commitment. They told each other, “We dare not compromise. We dare not adopt these moral standards. We will be separate, and we will be disciplined in our walk of faith.” These four men did not go about preaching their way of life to others. It...

Unvaccinated Americans’ concern about the new omicron variant plunged at the end of December despite rising Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations that leave them most at risk, a new Morning Consult poll finds, as Americans broadly aren’t growing more concerned about the new variant or changing their lifestyles despite cases reaching record levels. Concern about omicron among the unvaccinated dropped from 52% to 44% between December 24 and 30, the Morning Consult poll found, which was conducted among 2,220 U.S. adults. Concern levels held steady among the vaccinated (going from 80% to 79%), while concern among all respondents went down from...

Researchers from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing recently reported intriguing new evidence for a possible mouse origin of the Omicron variant. Their paper, posted on the BioRxiv preprint server, was quickly picked up and published a few days later by the Journal of Genetics and Genomics, and defies the prevailing theory which claims that the polymutant spike sequence of Omicron must have evolved under protracted infection in a severely immunocompromised patient. Their main idea is that a mouse could have somehow been infected with the human virus by "reverse zoonotic transfer," whereupon the virus evolved all or many...

Georgia opens investigation into possible illegal ballot harvesting in 2020 electionGeorgia authorities have launched an investigation into an allegation of systematic ballot harvesting during the state's 2020 general election and subsequent U.S. Senate runoff and may soon issue subpoenas to secure evidence, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger confirmed to Just the News. Georgia law strictly prohibits third-party activists from picking up and delivering ballots on behalf of voters, a tactic called "harvesting" that liberal organizers have tried to get legalized in many battleground states without success. The U.S. Supreme Court this summer rejected Democrat efforts to overturn an Arizona...

Some Democrats are using the anniversary of last year’s Capitol riot on January 6 to launch an effort to win the 2022 midterm elections by disqualifying Republicans who supported the effort to challenge the 2020 elections results as “insurrectionists.” The effort, spearheaded by Russia hoaxer Marc Elias, aims to use a provision of the post-Civil War 14th Amendment that was crafted to disqualify former Confederates or anyone who “shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof” from holding federal office. Elias has pushed the effort for months: "No person...

---SNIP--- District Attorney Larry Krasner said Thursday that a detective in his office had been placed on restricted duty for making inflammatory remarks on social media but would not confirm the detective’s identity. “We take very seriously any post in which a law enforcement officer appears to be advocating violent crime,” Krasner said. “And we take very seriously any post in which a law enforcement officer appears to be giving the same talking points that are given by white supremacists.”

I will always love the dirty martini. It was my gateway into the wild and wonderful world of gin, and I love any excuse to drink brine. After all, the key to making a classic dirty martini lies in letting the brine replace—rather than supplement—some of the vermouth, so as not to over-dilute the gin. A ratio of 2-1/4 ounce gin, 1/2-ounce brine, and 1/4-ounce vermouth makes a beautifully salty gin drink, but even a flawless classic can use an update every now and again. Here are four ways you can filth your cocktail up a little, should you ever...
