In the “Harry Potter” world, Gringott’s Bank, the bank that serves wizards and where treasures are stored in a mysterious network of underground tunnels and chambers, is run by goblins, who are depicted as ill-tempered, short-statured creatures with long noses and ears with a love of gold.

The decision to grant Novak Djokovic a medical exemption against being vaccinated to play in the Australian Open has divided tennis fans, with some vowing to boycott the event. It comes after a months-long battle with the Victorian government, officials and event organisers that ended with the nine-time Australian Open champion being granted an exemption. The move makes a change in tack from both the Victorian government and Tennis Australia, with both vowing as recently as November that unvaccinated players would not be welcome. Currently vaccination exemptions are only handed out in Australia to people who have had anaphylaxis after...

President Joe Biden mistakenly said there was reason for hope in the year “2020” in the ongoing fight against the coronavirus. It is currently the year 2022. Biden spoke about the pandemic during video conference coronavirus briefing on his digital set in the Executive Office Building across the street from the White House.

Ana Navarro railed against former President Donald Trump and the Republican Party as it pertains to the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, which critics like herself blamed on Trump’s lie that he won the 2020 election, and the aftermath – all while The View guest co-host said that Trump was illegitimately elected in 2016. “There’s things which I think should transcend partisanship and should transcend politics, and a breach of the U.S. Capitol, an attack on our democratic principles and institutions should be one of those things, and I really blame Republicans at the top for capitulating to...

On Tuesday, CBS Mornings co-host Tony Dokoupil and Eurasia Group president Ian Bremmer sounded the alarm over the possibility of Republicans winning big in the 2022 midterm elections, something they hysterically labeled one of “the top global risks” in the year ahead. The pair claimed any GOP victory in the midterms or the 2024 presidential contest would be seen as “illegitimate.”“A new report is detailing what it says are the biggest risks facing the globe in 2022 and the findings may surprise you,” Dokoupil declared. Turning to Bremmer, he touted: “Number three, midterm elections here in the U.S., a top...

A decade after sticky-fingered thieves absconded with 3,000 tonnes of maple syrup, a group of burglars made off with $200,000 worth of butter, the latest grocery-themed crime to hit Canada, and one that actually has a rich history in the country. The heist happened on Christmas Day, around 11 p.m., when four suspects broke into a warehouse in Trenton, Ont. After being dropped off by a black SUV, they allegedly entered and seized two transport trucks and trailers. Each of the trailers stolen had 20,000 kilograms of butter inside — worth, the police said, around $200,000. The trailers were found...

Facebook recently locked up the account of "Heros of Liberty" only to later backtrack following the uproar, saying it was an "error." It was one of those "errors" that only happen conservatives. Facebook originally said that Heroes of Liberty – which has published books about Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett, former President Ronald Reagan and author Thomas Sowell – violated the company's rules against "Low Quality or Disruptive Content." Facebook originally locked the ads account on Dec. 23, and after Heroes of Liberty appealed the ruling, the company permanently disabled the account. A favorite of mine, @jewishdeplorable, was suspended...

The global supply chain crisis that led to historic levels of inflation unseen in decades may have reached a tipping point and may soon be over, according to a new barometer used by the US Federal Reserve to monitor supply chain pressures. The Fed tool demonstrated that while supply chain pressures are still at dangerous level, the gridlock may have peaked, CNBC reported. The new barometer, called the Global Supply Chain Pressure Index (GSCPI), analyzes supply chain disruptions beginning with 1997. The current pandemic supply chain crisis is far more severe than other increases in the metric, even spikes seen...

One thing that's come across loudly and clearly in the past year and a half is that supposed Covid "misinformation" is in the eye of the establishment beholder. Too often when establishment figures and media publish factually untrue information or make false statements, it's overlooked or "fact-checked" as accurate. But when off-narrative scientists and reporters publish factually correct information and studies, it is referred to as "debunked," or "disinformation." One prime example is CDC's repeat Covid disinformation

Sausage fans were taken by surprise after Tesco deemed one of its pork products only suitable for adults over the age of 18 to purchase. The supermarket giant accidentally listed a "saucisson sec" as "secateurs", which, as a bladed item, meant purchasers must prove their age. Fufu Fang, 30, said he was "surprised to be stopped at the self-service till" at a Tesco near Cambridge as he attempted to buy his sausage. Tesco said it was "a bit of a mix-up". The French-brand saucisson sec is a dry-cured pork product, which Mr Fang attempted to purchase from the Fulbourn branch...

It’s easy to put a person in a box, to write someone off as an anti-vaxxer. But it isn’t always that simple. Take Marty Makary, a professor of surgery and health policy at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He has made a name for himself during the pandemic, partly through his appearances on Fox News shows like Tucker Carlson’s. But while he’s certainly a contrarian pandemic pundit, he isn’t a fringe voice, nor a political one. He writes op-eds for places like The Washington Post and The New York Times. He told Nightly, unprompted, that he wasn’t a...

During his viral podcast with Joe Rogan after he was banned by Twitter, Malone explained how the global population was being manipulated into remaining in a constant state of hysterical anxiety via mass formation psychosis. “What the heck happened to Germany in the 20s and 30s? Very intelligent, highly educated population, and they went barking mad. And how did that happen?” asked Malone. “The answer is mass formation psychosis.” “When you have a society that has become decoupled from each other and has free-floating anxiety in a sense that things don’t make sense, we can’t understand it, and then their...

Gasoline prices have remained unattractively high across much of the United States in the latter half of 2021, and a new study reveals that one U.S. state may see gasoline prices near $6. According to a new study published by GasBuddy this week, gasoline prices could reach $6 per gallon in San Fransisco, with Los Angelos and Sacramento reaching $5.50 per gallon. For some cities in California, this would be the highest nominal average ever paid. For 2022, GasBuddy is predicting a rise of nearly 40 cents per gallon, to $3.41 per gallon—with $4 per gallon a real possibility by...

The media is already being flooded with stories this week about the solemnity of the January 6 anniversary. And yet we also have Politico reveling that the Democrats are attempting to use the occasion to engage in flat out partisanship by federalizing the elections at the state level so as to favor that party. In fact, Rachael Bade and Ryan Lizza are not at all shy about joyfully hyping in the Monday Politico Playbook that "Dems to use Jan. 6 anniversary to supercharge voting rights push."

OKLAHOMA—Texas has announced the unilateral annexation of Oklahoma. The entire state will be leveled and turned into one giant Buc-ee's convenience story, according to sources within the Texas state government. The move was made as part of an attempt to find a use for the state to the north of Texas, as it seemed to just be acres and acres of nothing worthwhile. "There, that's a far better use of these 7,000 useless square miles," said Texas Governor Greg Abbott as bulldozers began demolishing the trailer parks, exotic cat zoos, and lame gas stations with fewer than 48 pumps that...

It’s tempting to call “democracy” meaningless in today’s parlance. Except it has a meaning: the opposite of what its dictionary entry says. “Democracy” now means not the rule or sovereignty of the people but the fiat of elites and “experts.” When the people can be persuaded, duped, or bullied into ratifying expert insistence, so much the better. That extra pretense of legitimacy helps quiet and discredit dissent. When they can’t, no matter. The “right thing” will be done, come what may, and that too is “democratic” under the new meaning. The cloyingly disingenuous phrase “our democracy” really means “their oligarchy.”...
