The decision to grant Novak Djokovic a medical exemption against being vaccinated to play in the Australian Open has divided tennis fans, with some vowing to boycott the event.
It comes after a months-long battle with the Victorian government, officials and event organisers that ended with the nine-time Australian Open champion being granted an exemption.
The move makes a change in tack from both the Victorian government and Tennis Australia, with both vowing as recently as November that unvaccinated players would not be welcome.
Currently vaccination exemptions are only handed out in Australia to people who have had anaphylaxis after a previous vaccine or an ingredient in the provided jabs.
The move has already outraged many Australians, who have been told they cannot re-enter their own country unless they're fully vaccinated or face two weeks in strict hotel quarantine, with many already expressing their fury online.

If someone has been vaccinated, and they think it works, then they shouldn’t care if anyone else is vaccinated.

If there’s an exemption for anyone for any reason, it calls the edict into question. Frankly, I’m stunned someone got a pass. It’s like first grade. “Did you bring enough gum for everyone?” If not, then you have spit yours out. They can’t let you have gum because then they’d have to let everyone have gum. The thinking is identical. We’re being treated like children and our betters are the all powerful teachers.
Isn’t it interesting that the new socialists, when they admit to the atrocities committed by the likes of Stalin, Mao and Castro, are quick to argue that they will do it right, to preserve prosperity and freedom without oppression and violence. Then the first thing they do is impose censorship, deny human rights, destroy people’s lives and threaten the exercise of basic freedoms. They prove that socialism is an evil doctrine that doesn’t work without force and violence.
It’s ridiculous.
The cowards should hide in their basement, and let men run things again.

The vaccine isn’t even a real vaccine, nor have any long term studies been done.

People owe Novak Djokovic a debt of gratitude. Once the Pfascists granted him an exemption, ANYONE is entitled to an exemption.
Well, not “anyone”. I remember early on in this whole scamdemic, Australians complaining about celebrities who were being allowed in (for filming or personal appearances and whatnot) but citizens were being held in foreign airports.
Per usual, it’s who you know, not what you know (or how vaccinated you are).
Allowing Novak to play is one small spark of light. It would be nice if that tiny light now would rapidly grow and spread all across Australia and free its people from the tyrants.

Interesting that they mention she didn’t get the text. IIRC, she was out partying and didn’t have her phone with her or something like that. So, the leader of a country is out doing her thing and is, basically, ignoring her responsibilities as the PM.
I mean, it’s not like Putin could get a wild hair up his a$$ and decide to invade the place while she’s doing body shots at Butchers, whose website boasts of being “inspired by New York’s Meatpacking District” and its “different but beautiful sitting areas.” Wonder if she knows the history of Simo Häyhä and why he is so famous in some circles.
But nothing happened so all is good.
