On this date in 1787, the only two men to hang for the infant American republic’s seminal post-independence rebellion went to the gallows at Lenox, Massachusetts. The newborn United States emerged from the American Revolution (1776-1783) in a parlous financial condition. Forever short of gold and credit, it had paid George Washington’s Continental Army in worthless scrip* and promises of goodwill. Instead, many a Cincinnatus returned from Yorktown to discover his debtor farm dunned by creditors and taxmen, as desperate as he for hard currency. Come 1786, protests against unpayable taxes verged into an outright rural insurrection in western Massachusetts....

The left has mastered many clever tactics to defeat the right in recent years, not based on substantive arguments but rather on tricking people. One is straight out of Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals and the right is falling into the trap. Rule No. 5 states, “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” It basically consists of using 4th grader insults to coerce people into a herd attack mentality. They mastered it with former President Donald Trump, “orange man bad.” It didn’t used to be that way. Although Rules for Radicals came out in 1972, it didn’t achieve the level of...

An indictment has been filed against a boy from the city, for offenses of firearm and sabotage. As part of a conflict between factions from the same family, he fired at his stepbrother's shop. Immediately afterwards he opened fire at young people who were trying to calm him down. After replacing a cartridge, he fired twice at a family home and wounded a young woman.

The motive is the same—sacrificing lesser people to make the world better for the elites—but the leftist approach is just as foolish as the iconic volcano sacrifice. Long ago, elites in various cultures sacrificed fellow citizens, including children, to their presumed gods to improve crop outcomes for the next growing season. Woke anthropologists might call these the first documented examples of cancel culture. We know now that those sacrifices had no impact on crops but that didn’t stop the elite. In the modern West, our elites are still prepared to sacrifice fellow citizens, including children, to propitiate their presumed goddess,...

I’ve proudly seen every James Bond movie ever made, even the George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan doozies, plus Woody Allen’s 1967 “Casino Royale” spoof. As a kid, I even inhaled Duco Cement fumes assembling a plastic model 1964 Aston Martin DB5—with a working ejector seat! Bond films delivered a feeling of sophistication and fun. The original James Bond was suave and sassy while he resolved sinister plots. He exemplified cool: He drank vodka martinis but never to excess, was impeccably dressed and, though flirty, was a gentleman. The early films were filled with innuendo and scenes that were...

VIDEONothing screams authenticity like wearing identical federal khaki trousers neatly tucked into booties while also carrying identical fashionably fascistic shields. However, the big tell that the "Patriot Front" march on Washington on Saturday was so obviously fake was they were all wearing face masks. When have you ever seen a legitimate protest against the government in the past year when even more than a few of the protestors were wearing masks? At least the masks kept them from being identified so it is possible that Ray Epps could have participated incognito. There were about 100 marchers which means that up...

Saturday’s crime spree in Chicago’s famous Loop reflects how things break down when citizens have no morals and fear no law. Chicago’s Loop encompasses the city’s central business district, which is also the second-largest commercial business district in America (or so Wikipedia tells me), filled with restaurants, offices, retail stores, hotels, and historic attractions. It lies at the heart of Cook County, the same county that elected Kim Foxx, the Soros-designated district attorney who doesn’t believe in prosecuting crime. When you couple Foxx’s aversion to enforcing the law with generations of people who have grown up without any moral grounding,...

THE TWIN CHALLENGE: At a weekend appearance at the Reagan Defense Forum in Simi Valley, California, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin offered vague promises of U.S. military assistance to Ukraine and Taiwan while stopping short of specifying what the U.S. would do if either country is invaded. The most immediate concern is the massive buildup of Russian forces, armor, and high tech weapons poised on Ukraine’s eastern border, which has every sign of an impending invasion, which could be launched as early as next month with up to 175,000 troops, according to a U.S. intelligence document obtained by the Washington Post....

Dozens of tanks and soldiers fired explosives and machine guns in drills Monday on Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido, a main stronghold for a nation that is perhaps the world’s least-known military powerhouse. Just across the sea from rival Russia, Japan opened up its humbly named Self Defense Force’s firing exercises to the media in a display of public firepower that coincides with a recent escalation of Chinese and Russian military moves around Japanese territory. The drills, which foreign journalists rarely have a chance to witness, will continue for nine days and include about 1,300 Ground Self Defense Force troops....

The Secretary of the Treasury has just issued the following general regulations relative to securing and disposing of the property found or brought within the territory now, or hereafter, occupied by the United States forces in the disloyal States. In order to the security and proper disposition of the productions of the soil, and all other property found within the limits of States, or parts of States, declared to be in insurrection against the United States, and now occupied, or to be hereafter occupied, by the troops and authority of the Union, the following regulations are established: There shall be...

Editor's Note: Graphic content warning. My cousin was murdered a few weeks ago. Shot in the back of the head by a “friend.” And robbed. He was 29, harmless, but attached to one too many friends in low places. The killer, predictably, was also a young black man. Just as predictably, my cousin only met his father once or twice – just enough to keep his gut throbbing with the snub of paternal abandonment. His older brother patched the gaps as much as he could. He encouraged him, chastised him, and called him on most days just to check in...

Let's face it: a good portion of the federal government has little regard for us as people, as adults, as parents, as taxpayers or as citizens; or for the Constitution or the principles and spirit upon which this country was founded. With each passing month, our overlords show less respect for the Bill of Rights, the rule of law, basic concepts of citizenship and property, the principle of equal treatment, due process, America's business climate, our solvency, our currency, our sovereignty, our history and heritage, representative government, our right to dissent, basic notions of logic, reason, civil debate and open...

Recently I watched an interview of Glenn Loury, a black professor of economics from Brown University, done by Peter Robinson of the Hoover Institution. In it, he makes a remarkable statement quoting his friend Shelby Steele, himself a black English professor who now writes books commenting on current affairs. Loury quotes Steele to the effect that “the problem before [blacks in America] now is not a problem of oppression. It is a problem of freedom. It is a problem of seizing opportunity, the problem of taking responsibility.” It echoed within me as I have been thinking similar thoughts about the...

The CEO of an online mortgage lender fired 900 of his employees in a brutal Zoom call - then slammed them for being so 'lazy' they effectively 'stole' from customers. Vishal Garg axed around nine per cent of Better.com's workforce last Wednesday - three weeks before Christmas - including its entire diversity, equity and inclusion team, which deals with complaints about racism and sexism in the workplace. Garg told them bluntly: 'This isn't news that you're going to want to hear...If you're on this call, you are part of the unlucky group that is being laid off. Your employment here...

Must-see TV and must-see single graph that reveals how effective off-patent inexpensive therapies are in reducing COVID deaths. Despite the lack of so-called “gold standard” double-blind studies, we now effectively know that early (off-label) use of the anti-parasite/anti-malarial drugs hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin can have a very significant effect on reducing COVID mortality. Especially when used in conjunction with other substances like azithromycin, zinc, and Vitamin D. (Always consult your physician for medical advice. This post is purely informational and not intended to recommend any treatment to readers). The medical establishment and the panic merchants in government, the media and the...

Former Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) is expected to announce on Monday that he is running for governor of Georgia in 2022, according to multiple reports. Perdue will seek to unseat incumbent Gov. Brian Kemp (R) in the primary, and, should Perdue win the primary, he would compete with the leading Democrat contender, activist Stacey Abrams.

Between gasoline prices and VP Kamala Harris' polling problems, don't be surprised if the press secretary announces next week that the DoJ is going to investigate the 2020 election results to see if President Trump should be returned to the Oval Office. Yes, it's been that kind of a year for President Biden. I get the impression that he can't wait to go back to Delaware for real. The latest from the "Everybody hates Kamala" show is that the VP's staff is jumping ship. It started a couple of weeks ago and now the Washington Post has developed the story...

Jake Tapper, who works for CNN which buried the truth about the Cuomo's for a long time, is out campaigning for Democrats and against Republicans no matter what the facts are. Via Breitbart: CNN’s Tapper: I Can’t Think of Anything Less American than GOP’s ‘Bigotry Campaign’ CNN anchor Jake Tapper said Sunday on “State of the Union” that the Republican Party was conducting a “bigotry campaign’ while discussing Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) calling Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) the “jihad squad.” Tapper made his remarks while interviewing Rep. Ilhan Omar CNN screengrab Jake Tapper and others will gladly campaign for Omar...

One can only hope that the standards by which the Nazis were judged and condemned will be the basis of subsequent judgments where necessary. On December 1, 2021, a gang of thugs harassed a bus full of Jewish teenagers in Oxford Street, London's flagship shopping area in Central London. This hate crime was caught on video, with the thugs abusing the youths, banging the bus, spitting on it, taking off shoes (an insult in Arab culture), giving obscene gestures and the Nazi salute. The teenagers were celebrating the first night of Hanukah, the festival of lights commemorating the Jewish uprising...
