US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were in Israel on Saturday to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, mainly to discuss Gaza, two people briefed on the matter told Reuters.
The US on Thursday announced plans for a “New Gaza” rebuilt from scratch, to include residential towers, data centers and seaside resorts, part of US President Donald Trump’s push to advance an Israel-Hamas ceasefire shaken by repeated violations.
On Friday, Channel 12 news reported that Kushner and Witkoff would also discuss with Netanyahu the ongoing efforts to secure the return of Ran Gvili, the last remaining hostage in Gaza.
The prime minister’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The head of a transitional Palestinian committee backed by the US to temporarily administer Gaza, Ali Shaath, said on Thursday that the Rafah border crossing — effectively the sole route in or out of Gaza for nearly all of the more than 2 million people who live there — would open next week.

Rebuilding Gaza is nice and all that but the last time I checked, Hamas was still in charge of Gaza. From what I understand, they’re supposed to disarm. But we know that they’re not going to do that.
Let the Israeli’s fight for their survival, and stay out.
It has to do with God v Satan.
Self-purification will bring God’s protection. Like US, suoerior technological firepower only causes missteps and wastes more blessing. We need repentence, purification.
Pig farms. Place them everywhere in Gaza. Jews understandably will not have anything to do with them. The muzzles can make a living selling pork to Europe and Africa.
