American Airlines has continued its streak cancellation over the course of Halloween weekend as a quarter of its scheduled flights - 634 of them - were cancelled on Sunday. The airline has blamed weather control issues, such as strong winds from Dallas, and ongoing staff shortages due to lay-offs made when travel cratered at the start of the COVID outbreak. In total, more than 1,500 flights have been axed by the airline since Friday with 738 delays and 342 cancellations, according to FlightAware. On Saturday, 543 flights were cancelled with more than 400 also delayed. 'With additional weather throughout the...

President Joe Biden is wrapping up the first leg of his European trip, heading to Glasgow after an action-packed few days in Italy - where the 78-year-old seemed to largely shun face masks. Photos of Biden meeting with Pope Francis, French President Emmanuel Macron and others one-on-one show the Democrat and fellow G-20 leaders mask-free even when in close contact. When gathered in large groups it appears world leaders for the most part covered their faces.

On Jan. 6, 2021, Nathaniel DeGrave walked in through the open doors of the U.S. Capitol to document the event for a podcast. DeGrave was arrested for entering the Capitol. He is being held in pretrial detention with no bail at a Washington, D.C. jail. No trial date has been set. The Gateway Pundit, which has reported extensively on the treatment of Jan. 6 detainees, noted: "After careful review of DeGrave’s Indictment, Statement of Facts and other court documents, defense attorneys familiar with the case say that the Department of Justice has not yet shown credible proof to substantiate any...

Americans saw their incomes drop by a full percentage point in September as pandemic aid programs to support the unemployed expired that month, according to Commerce Department data released Friday. While the decline in income was greater than expected, the report said personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased by a better-than-forecast 0.6 percent, as consumers channeled their money toward services like health care, restaurants and hotels. "As we approach 2022, the economy is regaining momentum. An improving health situation, rising mobility, improving employment trends and solid household finances should support consumer spending growth," wrote Lydia Boussour of Oxford Economics, predicting stronger...

The Departments of Justice, Homeland Security, and Health and Human Services are said to be offering to settle lawsuits filed by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) on behalf of 900 persons who entered the United States illegally during the Trump Administration. ACLU spokesman Bertram Petty asserted that "it is already a matter of law that if a person breaks into your home and you injure him you must pay damages. Our 900 clients have all sustained severe psychological trauma as a result of Trump's policy. First, many incurred thousands of dollars in expenses paying coyotes to smuggle them into...

Norman Rockwell, Freedom From Want (1943) People seem to want Thanksgiving to always be the same – there’s a lot of advice out there cautioning against trying something new for family or guests on that day. But I’ve often enjoyed very interesting new recipes at Thanksgiving, in the homes of friends and family who have ignored that advice. I recently found a recipe for turkey stuffing that is quite different from the plain type that I’ve always made; but I’m very tempted to try it. (It may be a little ‘busy’ for some who are used to a plainer bread...

Martin Luther, to all faithful and godly pastors and preachers: grace, mercy, and peace be yours in Jesus Christ, our Lord. The deplorable, miserable conditions which I recently observed when visiting the parishes have constrained and pressed me to put this catechism of Christian doctrine into this brief, plain, and simple form. How pitiable, so help me God, were the things I saw: the common man, especially in the villages, knows practically nothing of Christian doctrine, and many of the pastors are almost entirely incompetent and unable to teach. Yet all the people are supposed to be Christians, have been...

NBC anchor Chuck Todd debuted a new poll on Sunday’s broadcast of “Meet the Press” which showed 71 percent of Americans believe America is on the wrong track. Todd said, “We have a brand new NBC news poll out this morning still with some scary news for the Democrats. The overarching message, Americans have lost their confidence in President Joe Biden and their optimism for the country. At least they have right now. Just 22% of adults say we are headed in the right direction. A shocking 71% say we’re on the wrong track and that includes a near majority...

The Count is doing Scott Walker's "Nite Flights." This is a notorious song. The song's meaning is unclear, like the mist on an airport's runway for landing. Other artist have tried to navigate it with limited degrees of success. Bowie has done it as well as the band Fatima Mansions. If you enjoy this version, please subscribe to the channel.

Glasgow (AFP) - One car was themed 'climate reality,' another 'transforming society' and a third 'stop talking and start doing' -- welcome to the Glasgow-bound Rail to the COP. With more than 400 young climate warriors on board, many in their mid-to-late teens, the 10-hour trip from Amsterdam with changeovers in Brussels and London was shot through with camaraderie, determination and anger. One thing these young activists did not bring on board was the illusion that the 13-day UN summit starting Sunday would by itself beat back what they called the existential threat of global warming. “Politicians won't achieve the...

Americans are aware Big Tech has been censoring, shadow banning, and/or de-platforming people for years. These social media sites regularly suppress information they don’t like, and outright ban those with views that are antithetical to their ideology. The argument from the political right and the left is basically that Congress should regulate these entities. Conservatives say more content should be allowed; Liberals say there should be much less. Regardless of any potential congressional regulations, you know Big Tech is shutting down your voice, but what you may not know is that Big Tech is also shutting down your vote. In...

U.S. Representative Adam Kinzinger criticized Democrats for encouraging Republicans to tell the truth but then targeting him in redistricting. Kinzinger, a Republican from Illinois, explained his decision to not seek re-election while appearing on ABC News' This Week Sunday morning. He said one reason he opted to retire is that he has not seen other Republicans "move away from lies," amid baseless claims of fraud in the 2020 election by former President Donald Trump and his GOP allies..... He also called out Democrats for drawing him into a district with another GOP incumbent. His district is currently largely based in...

By a quirk of fate, I spent the day before Halloween researching for and writing this article—on exorcism. (I trust that the timing was, as they say, “coincidental”). Sophia Institute Press, the publishers of the just-released book, Diary of an American Exorcist , had asked me to review it; being no expert in but naturally finding such a topic fascinating, I agreed, and also ended up briefly interviewing its author, Stephen J. Rossetti, a Catholic priest and licensed psychologist. You might be happy to know that carving a jack-o-lantern or taking your kids trick-or-treating are, overall, safe occupations, according to...

In college, we are taught that one of the founders of the American Revolution, Thomas Paine, was a deist. Indeed, he was. What the professors did not tell us was that Paine's masterpiece, "Common Sense" — the pamphlet that persuaded the American people to move from merely seeking some redress of grievance from British government to flat out seeking independence — made almost all of its arguments from the Bible.Paine knew that the American people were the most biblically literate people in the world at that time. Arguably, they were the most biblically literate generation of all history. They were...
