American Airlines has continued its streak cancellation over the course of Halloween weekend as a quarter of its scheduled flights - 634 of them - were cancelled on Sunday.
The airline has blamed weather control issues, such as strong winds from Dallas, and ongoing staff shortages due to lay-offs made when travel cratered at the start of the COVID outbreak.
In total, more than 1,500 flights have been axed by the airline since Friday with 738 delays and 342 cancellations, according to FlightAware.
On Saturday, 543 flights were cancelled with more than 400 also delayed.
'With additional weather throughout the system, our staffing begins to run tight as crew members end up out of their regular flight sequences,' American Airlines said in a statement to CNN.

We had 45+ mph gusts over the last two days in North Texas. We have limbs down and green leaves everywhere that were stripped from the trees they haven’t even turned color yet been so we warm this year. I dropped a friend off at love field yesterday and was like good luck on take off you will be crabbing sideways off the tarmac. General aviation opps were stopped at KAD where I fly out of for a while. Just were too high to allow crossword landings or takeoffs.

Sounds like when the owners of SW were lying recently about the pilots and other employees on strike due to the mandatory vaccine.
It wasn’t weather then nor is it now.
I recently took a Greyhound bus. It’s been 15 years since the last time I took the bus.
It was a nightmare.
Driver shortages.
Every bus was 2 or 3 hours behind schedule.
Plus there was a crazy person on board the 6 times I changed bus.
I mean crazy. Screaming at the bus driver..one women had a 3 hour argument over her cell phone.
Anyone notice that as the COVID Shutdowns and the War on Fossil Fuel continue to take their toll, we’re getting the same “Weather” excuse that every Communist country used to use as an excuse for agricultural incompetence?
I took a bus about 20 years ago and could not believe the dirtbags.......Honestly, I believe I was the only halfway normal person on board.
