Abortions dropped by 50 percent in Texas in September since the state's heartbeat law took effect last month, according to a study published by the Texas Policy Evaluation Project. The law, which defines a fetal heartbeat as ''a cardiac activity or the steady and repetitive rhythmic contraction of the fetal heart within the gestational sac,'' is the most restrictive state-level abortion legislation in America. An abortion can only be done if a doctor determines a medical emergency exists. The study looked at the total number of abortions in September 2021 (2,164) compared with September 2020 (4,313) provided at 19 of...

In the fog of the crappy news coming out of Biden’s America, with the eighty-one million supporters he has (snicker snicker), it is refreshing to, on occasion, find a surprising news nugget. America’s backbone may be stiffening on getting the COVID jab to keep your job.I’m encouraged by this small ray of sunshine.I’m sure most everyone by now has heard of some of the bigger instances of employees giving the middle finger salute to mandates. Probably the one that DEMANDED news coverage was the Southwest pilots saying “no mas” which effectively shut down air travel for a whole bunch of...

The Lancet has just released another study comparing the efficacy of COVID vaccines to the efficacy of protection provided by previous COVID infections. Their conclusion: while vaccines lower the risk of infections with the delta variant within households, those who are fully vaccinated are still vulnerable to a 'breakthrough' infection if somebody they live with gets infected. What's more, people who have been vaccinated against COVID can be equally as infectious as the unvaccinated, the study showed. The new study, which was published Thursday in the Lancet, the British medical journal that published some of the earliest research on COVID, is one...

Long-time abortion advocate Danielle Campoamor wrote an op-ed for The Cut this week arguing that parents should talk openly to children about abortion as a positive act — even encouraging them to tell their children if they had abortions themselves. In her essay, Campoamor explained how her seven-year-old son learned about his aborted sibling. “He uses the correct terminology for both a penis and a vagina, understands that sex can result in a pregnancy, and, to the surprise of many, what abortion is — and that his mom has had one,” she said. “The explanation my partner and I gave...

Black Lives Matter Plaza is now a permanent fixture of DC’s streetscape. The mural, painted onto the stretch of 16th Street, Northwest between K and H streets in June 2020, was the site of racial justice protests, which inspired the 48-foot monument. The construction project kicked off in July with a $4.8 million price tag. Pedestrians can now stroll through a walkway that runs down the center of the plaza, sandwiched between traffic lanes on each side of the mural. The mural’s bold yellow words were beginning to fade when the plaza was paved over in May. To make...

Noem said in a statement. “Though they are delaying their announcement of other mandates because they know those would be unconstitutional, we will not wait to fight this federal contractor mandate. We set up our defense with an executive order earlier this week. Now it’s time to go on offense.” Biden announced in...

Bongino shared the news during his Wednesday online podcast. “They didn’t consult with us content providers. I strongly object to the mandate,” Bongino said. “The fight with them is having a real impact. Behind the scenes, it’s getting a little ugly here. I wasn’t on the radio today. I don’t know what they did, played the ‘best of’ or whatever. You don’t treat people this way. You don’t let people go because...

Arizona leads 11 Republican states in defending rule that restricted green cards for immigrants likely to rely on welfare The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to hear a bid by Republican states to take over the defense of a Trump-era rule that restricted green cards for immigrants deemed likely to be reliant on welfare – after the Biden administration dropped the legal defense of the rule. The "public charge" rule was introduced during the Trump administration and expanded the definition of "public charge" as an immigrant who receives one or more designated public benefits for more than 12 months within...

President Joe Biden’s border chief is making a second effort to cancel the “Remain in Mexico” (RIM) program because it hinders migrants’ ability to ask judges to let them stay in the United States. The United States is a “nation of immigrants,” border chief Alejandro Mayorkas claimed in a 39-page report that was prepared for a federal judge who directed in August that the program be kept going. Mayorkas, who is the secretary at the Department of Homeland Security, ignored the benefits to Americans of the program even as he described the risks and harms to migrants. Mayorkas also ignored...

Representative Paul Gosar accused Biden’s government of maintaining two secret lists that it uses to strip its enemies of their constitutional rights. These enemies, like activist and congressional candidate Laura Loomer, are those Americans who love God, their country, and freedom. The San Diego Association of Governments’ (SANDAG) board of directors approved Oct. 29 a four-cent-per-mile tax proposal that could impact every driver in San Diego County by 2030. The proposed mileage tax is intended to supplement and eventually replace gas taxes, which have dropped considerably as gas mileage has increased and hybrid and electric cars ownership has grown exponentially in recent years. San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond said the proposal was intended to “force everyone onto trolleys and buses” by pricing people out of their cars. “This proposal should never see the light of day,” Desmond said. “San Diegans...

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA—A KKK member posing outside Glenn Youngkin's bus, ostensibly to support the gubernatorial candidate, has turned out to actually just be Governor Ralph Northam in his trusty Klan hood. "We're all in for Glenn! We're all in for Glenn!" the man in the white hood chanted as Youngkin's bus pulled into a campaign stop in Charlottesville. "We racists love Glenn. Vote for Glenn! We are not associated with the Democratic Party whatsoever, despite the white robe and hood! Go, Republicans!" One group of curious youths, who had arrived there in a van, was determined to get to the bottom...

To satisfy predatory lawyers and radical activists, the Biden administration is in talks to give nearly half a million dollars each to illegal immigrant separated from family at the border during two months of the Trump era. It’s a pure pander to progressives: Such cases have been settled before at just over a tenth of that sum. Three federal departments are negotiating to settle lawsuits the American Civil Liberties Union and others brought on behalf of families separated when President Donald Trump’s zero-tolerance policy on illegal immigration meant all adults unlawfully crossing the border were charged with a misdemeanor in...

Vaccination against Covid-19 provides stronger protection than immunity from a previous infection with the coronavirus, according to a study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published Friday. The study looked at more than 7,000 people hospitalized with Covid-like illnesses, and found that those who were unvaccinated — but had a previous case of the illness — were five times more likely to have a confirmed case of Covid than people who were fully vaccinated and had not had Covid before. A previous infection does provide some degree of immunity and protection against reinfection, but the findings suggest that...
