Like the ACLU famously did in its legal defense of neo-Nazis who wanted to march in a Jewish-majority Chicago suburb 40 years ago, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, on Wednesday in a hearing defended the First Amendment right of a man to invoke a Nazi salute to express his view that school board members were acting like fascists. In fact, in the Senate oversight hearing, Attorney General Merrick Garland agreed with Cruz that the man's action was constitutionally protected. Nevertheless, the Daily Beast was among many left-wing outlets that framed the exchange as "Ted Cruz Defends Parents Doing Nazi Salutes at...

There’s a growing list of veteran pop and rock acts who’ve announced an end to touring — Paul Simon, Joan Baez, Elton John — and we can now add another: John Mayall. The godfather of the British blues scene, who will turn 88 next month, has announced an end to his “epic road-dog days”: “I have decided, due to the risks of the pandemic and my advancing age, that it is time for me to hang up my road shoes,” he says.

A corruption hearing has heard former NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian telling her secret MP boyfriend Daryl Maguire that a public servant's "head would be gone" but only after he "fixed" a grant proposal in his electorate. Ms. Berjiklian today began her evidence at the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) as it investigates whether she breached public trust due to the undeclared relationship with the disgraced Wagga Wagga MP Mr. Maguire.... Ms. Berejiklian told the commission she couldn't remember whether she indicated support before or after their advice, but "top of mind" was the potential repercussions of the Orange by-election. "Is...

There was a time not too long ago when parents wanted their kids in the coveted Loudoun County school district. That was before the school board and most educators embraced the “woke” tenets of LGBTQ+ supremacy in which sexually confused students were propped up as being more privileged than normal students.Following rapes and sodomies in a high school that sparked nationwide attention (despite corporate media ignoring it), a new complaint has sparked an investigation by the Sheriff’s department. This time, a male student has allegedly been inappropriately touching other male students at one of the middle schools.Christopher Rufo posted about...

Abstract The pharmacology of anti-SARS-CoV-2 drugs, Molnupiravir (M) and repurposed Ivermectin (IV) were compared. The IC50 for the inhibition of viral replication were 0.3µM for M and 2.8µM for IV. Both drugs have good oral absorption, with M achieving peak plasma concentrations by 2 hours and IV by 5 hours. The plasma half life were 7 hours for M and 81-91 hours for IV. M inhibits viral replication inducing viral mutagenesis in RdRp, causing viral error catastrophe and viral extinction. IV affects viral cell entry, nuclear transport and inhibits replication via RdRp. IV has additional effect to suppress cytokine...

Pope Francis: A True Believer in Castro-CommunismIt should have surprised no one when the Vatican’s political police removed a Cuban flag from a kneeling parishioner who was quietly praying for Cuba’s freedom during the October 24 Sunday Mass at St. Peter’s Square. The papacy under Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio has witnessed a seismic shift in the Holy See’s relationship with pagan political religions such as socialism since 2013. Castro-Communism, however, appears to have a special place in the heart and soul of Pope Francis. The first Jesuit bishop of Rome has taken up the common cause on a host of issues...

The Santa Fe County sheriff on Wednesday said the gun discharged by actor Alec Baldwin during a fatal shooting on the set of "Rust" fired a "suspected live round." Investigators believe they have recovered the "lead projectile" and shell casing from the ammunition that struck and killed the film's director of photography, Halyna Hutchins, 42, and injured director Joel Souza. "The facts are clear: a weapon was handed to Mr. Baldwin. The weapon is functional and fired a live round, killing Ms. Hutchins and injuring Mr. Souza," Sheriff Adan Mendoza said at a joint news conference between the Sante Fe...

Virginia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe's campaign raised eyebrows by spending nearly $60,000 to hire a high-profile attorney known for masterminding election-related legal challenges. When Fox News sent the campaign a request for comment, the McAuliffe campaign scrambled to "kill" the story, according to emails mistakenly sent to Fox News. Less than a month before Election Day, McAuliffe's campaign spent $53,680 on the services of the Elias Law Group, a firm that Marc Elias started earlier this year, Fox News previously reported. Elias had formerly worked as a partner at the law firm Perkins Coie, which the Hillary Clinton campaign...

McDonald's is faced with higher food and labor costs, is raising menu prices at a much faster pace than historical rates, focused on preserving profits. The problem with higher-priced menu items is that they will diminish the buying power of the working poor who frequent the Chicago-based burger giant. Famous for the Big Mac burger, the company is paying more for food, packaging, and other supplies, CEO Chris Kempczinski told investors Wednesday. He said commodity costs are up 3.5% to 4%, up from the 2% increase earlier this year. On top of that, labor costs are up at least 10%....

This is the feast date (in Christianity’s western tradition) of Saint Jude. Possibly one of the bit players among Jesus’s original 12 apostles — “Jude”/”Judah”/”Judas” was a common name among first-century Israelites, so there’s some confusion about the identities among various texts talking about various (?) Judes — St. Jude is aptly-for-this-blog considered the patron saint of “lost causes” or “situations despaired of”. He’s traditionally supposed to have knocked around the eastern Mediterranean after the Nazarene‘s crucifixion, introducing Christianity (along with St. Bartholomew) to Armenia, which eventually became the first officially Christian kingdom. (Jude is also a patron saint of...

Dr. Aaron Kheriaty reacted to the COVID-19 pandemic like many other medical experts. He worked long hours as the United States tried to grapple with the new disease. He had too many conversations with family members whose loved ones were dying from it.But as time wore on, he started noticing a pattern in public health decisions that seemed to diverge from traditional medical ethics, including an insistence that people at little risk from COVID-19 get a vaccine.Kheriaty is now on suspension from the University of California, Irvine, (UCI) and challenging the school’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate in court.“I had to stand...

Let’s face it.Joe Biden is not a rocket scientist, and he has a long history of being wrong on virtually everything he touches. But someone is going to have to help me understand his latest move that just makes absolutely no sense to me.Biden previously said he was going to try to solve the supply chain crisis. His first move — saying that the Port of Los Angeles was going to operate 24/7 – hasn’t been achieved yet and hasn’t seemed to do much of anything to change the situation. Indeed, after he said that, there were a record number of ships...

Grinning away: The quantum Cheshire cat effect takes its name from a character in Lewis Carroll's novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. (Courtesy: Larissa Kulik/Shutterstock) Since its inception, quantum theory has presented us with many strange and seemingly paradoxical phenomena. One of the oddest examples is the quantum Cheshire cat effect, in which properties of quantum objects become disembodied from the objects themselves. Now, two of the researchers who predicted the effect have shown that it is even weirder than they first thought: not only can quantum properties become detached from their parent objects, these properties can also move of...

Jonathan Moseley, defense attorney for Philadelphia Proud Boys chapter president Zach Rehl, expressed determination to confront the FBI with a subpoena in response to National File’s report that a second man – Sean Michael McHugh – was caught on camera trying to incite demonstrators to storm the Capitol Building. That report followed a comprehensive article by Revolver News breaking down considerable evidence that Ray Epps was acting as an FBI informant when he repeatedly urged Pro-Trump rally-goers to enter the Capitol. Neither McHugh nor Epps have been charged with conspiracy. Moseley’s client Zach Rehl, however, is set to stand trial...
