2 people detained at LAX after police respond to reports of person with firearm at Terminal 1

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Two people have been detained at the Los Angeles International Airport after police responded to reports of a person with a firearm Thursday night, forcing hundreds of travelers to evacuate.

According to LAX, the report was made at around 7:30 p.m. about a person with a firearm in Terminal 1...

...As of Thursday at 8:53 p.m., the south side of the airfield opened to flights, but the north side remained closed.

One passenger spoke with ABC7 shortly after the incident and claims the pilot said someone believed they saw a gun and yelled, "Gun!"...

Well, if the cops got called out and there was no gun, they’re not going to waste the trip. They’ll handcuff, search the heck out of and detain someone.

I always yell, “Tango down!” Or “Geronimo!”

Anything is fine.

In such cases, I always used to just say, in my best "Bruce Willis" voice, "It's okay: I'm a cop."

That still works, doesn't it?
