Parents opposed to mask mandates cite a variety of arguments, be they philosophical or political, erroneous or conspiratorial. But perhaps the most common, misguided and dangerous reason is that mask mandates for school children violate ill-defined, but allegedly comprehensive and paramount, “parental rights.” When it comes to society’s interest in protecting children, the legal precedent is unambiguous: The rights of their parents come second.

Rolling Stone magazine has been called out for publishing an inaccurate story Saturday about hospitals in Oklahoma being overrun by Ivermectin overdoses. The Rolling Stone story reported that the number of Ivermectin drug overdoses have so overwhelmed hospitals that gunshot victims have been unable to get medical treatment. Ivermectin is an anti-parasitic drug that has a human version but is more commonly used for deworming livestock. In an interview with local Southeastern Oklahoma station KFOR, a rural Oklahoma physician Dr. Jason McElyea spread many of the same falsehoods. “The ERs are so backed up that gunshot victims were having hard...

U.S. Army Lieutenant General Maria Gervais, who heads up the Army’s Training and Doctrine Command posted a photo Saturday of what she thought were U.S. troops leaving Afghanistan, but it turns out they were British troops later IDed as being with the 16th Air Assault Brigade. Getting that third star apparently doesn’t take much in today’s woke military. Not noticing the British uniforms and weaponry (SA80s), Gervais tweeted Saturday morning, “This picture is worth 1000 words—thanks to these American hero’s. #Grateful” Screen capture by Arthur Schwartz. Original tweet linked below. (Update: Gen. Gervais deleted the tweet Saturday night and her...

A study has found that extreme cold weather is probably caused by the stretching of the polar vortex in the stratosphere, which results from global warming. Scientists have discovered that recent cold weather extremes may be linked to global warming, a study published in Science said on Thursday. Human-caused global warming was expected to lead to more heatwaves and heavy precipitation events, but the increase in cold air outbreaks and heavy snowfalls, most recently in January and February of 2021 in Asia, Europe and the United States, surprised the scientists, leading them to research the connection between extreme cold weather...

Things seem to be growing worse by the day, and many students of Bible prophecy believe that is exactly what will happen at the end of the age. It is bittersweet: Bitter because it signifies that the world is approaching the Tribulation Period, and sweet because it signifies that Jesus is coming soon to straighten things out. Here are some of the events that recently got this writer’s attention: One, when the U.S. started withdrawing its troops from Afghanistan, the U.S. turned over some of its military bases to the Afghan government, the Afghan government collapsed, the Taliban took over...

Many leftist extremists condemn conservatives as hypocrites for wanting to help rescue women from the Taliban in Afghanistan. They say that conservatives in America are the “American Taliban” because they are pro-life. They say that pro-life is against women’s rights. They say that conservatives don’t care about the “fetus”; they only want to subjugate women. Etc., etc… It’s my opinion that pro-abortion leftists seem more concerned with protecting a woman’s right to kill (her unborn child) than they are about protecting a woman’s right not to be killed. It seems obvious that it’s much more noble to be more concerned...

A group of police officers and firefighters are suing Oregon Gov. Kate Brown over the state's vaccine mandate, KOIN-TV reported. The lawsuit, filed in Jefferson County Circuit Court, seeks to deter the state from mandating all employees of the executive branch to be vaccinated against COVID-19. The group is asking a judge to declare Brown's order as "unenforceable." They claim the executive order clashes with existing Oregon statutes of free expression and could result in the wrongful termination of employees. "Forcing them to decide between their livelihoods and vindicating their statutory and constitutional rights is unconscionable and wrong," the suit...

Are we even recoverable in the fundamental transformation of America and the world in total via the great reset? Are we even recoverable in the fundamental transformation of America and the world in total via the great reset? The Afghanistan negative policy event, in DoS speak, is a macro-watershed moment. Its micro-analogues in the news and in daily life are numerous and support serious apprehension. I was disheartened by the following story I ran across in the New York Post. In short, the New Orleans P.D. has charged and is seeking a 911 operator in Louisiana for deliberately hanging up...

It's a matter of what they've been taught. "No one ever washes a rented car." This old cliché explains much of what is happening in both politics and society today. The entire CRT/BLM/wokist sentiment in the country — epitomized by what is happening in a sizable majority of high school and college classrooms — highlights what is arguably the most dangerous issue currently facing America: we are raising — encouraging, even! — an entire generation of people who feel no ownership of, loyalty to, or obligation to the country in which they live. The woke movement is the predominant force...

Who are the 100,000+ Afghans being sent here? There's a way to screen them quickly and effectively that the Biden administration is not using. The Biden administration used military, commercial and charter flights to secretly fly more than 123,000, mostly undocumented and unidentified Afghans out of the country. Reportedly, 50,000 to 100,000 have already been transported to the U.S. Who are these Afghans? We know the Biden “airlift” did not carry most of the Afghans who aided the U.S. forces, translators, and others who already held or were cleared for Special Immigrant Visas (SIV). We also know the Afghans who...

Middlesbrough defender Marc Bola has been charged with 'aggravated' misconduct for comments he made on social media nine years ago. The 23-year-old left-back, who Boro signed from Blackpool in July 2019, is alleged by the Football Association to have posted 'a reference to sexual orientation' in 2012, when he was 14. An FA statement read: 'Middlesbrough FC's Marc Bola has been charged with a misconduct for a breach of FA Rule E3 in relation to a social media post on April 14, 2012. 'It is alleged that this post is insulting and/or abusive and/or improper and/or brought the game into...

The same geniuses that planned the evacuation have got the vetting covered, so chill out, Thoroughly Woke Milley advises. General Mark Milley agreed to an interview by Jennifer Griffin of Fox News (video here), apparently with the intent of calming fears of the wave of military age males coming out of that country and heading for Western nations. Oddly, the subject of the scores of billions of dollars’ worth of military equipment abandoned to the Taliban (and Iranians, Russians and Chinese) never came up. Griffifn is one of the most respected reporters in the business, so I don ‘t imagine...

Soros money and BLM ideology are a lethal mix. Chicago may be the worst example of an American city that allows the deranged and the criminally inclined to roam the streets and prey on law-abiding citizens, but the problem is national in scope, particularly in major cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and St. Louis, where Soros-funded prosecutors are in charge. Two items from CWBChicago demonstrate the extent of the depravity. First: Prosecutors on Saturday accused a man with a long history of violent attacks in Streeterville and the Near North Side of stabbing a 24-year-old woman to death as...

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg announced on Twitter that he and his husband, Chasten Buttigieg, have welcomed twins into their family. Pete Buttigieg shared a photo to Twitter of the couple holding the babies, named Penelope Rose and Joseph August. “Chasten and I are beyond thankful for all the kind wishes since first sharing the news that we’re becoming parents,” he said. “We are delighted to welcome Penelope Rose and Joseph August Buttigieg to our family.”

The days of shoddy, unprofessional, unacceptably substandard teaching and covert manipulation of American youth are over. For nearly a decade now, I’ve been keeping track of what I call “K-12 Whoppers” -- examples of egregious and embarrassing educator antics -- in order to understand and document the problem of growing teacher bias and general lack of professionalism in our schools. I do this because, like many Americans, I’m a captive observer of our declining cultural standards and also because I’ve personally experienced unacceptably substandard teaching, both as a student and parent. SNIP Collecting these K-12 disaster anecdotes is a horrible...

Panjwai (Afghanistan) (AFP) - The Taliban takeover may have plunged Afghanistan into uncertainty and economic pain, but arms dealer Khan Mohammad is making the most of it. Sandwiched between a pharmacy and a general store, his shop in the Panjwai district of southern Kandahar province -- the spiritual birthplace of the Taliban -- is flush with fresh inventory. Camouflage combat vests and bandoliers hung from the walls as Mohammed showed off his wares, including US-made Smith & Wesson pistols and ammunition belts. Another dealer in the dusty Panjwai market, whose shop was adorned with large Taliban flags and pictures of...

Thanks for joining us this Labor Day weekend as we study what Scripture says about work. Let’s begin at the beginning with the Creation story — the first time “work” is mentioned in the Bible: “By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done” (Genesis 2:2-3). In the process of “creating,” God created work which had to be “very good”...
