Abstract Objectives: While COVID-19 has a relatively small direct impact on infant mortality, the pandemic is expected to indirectly increase mortality of this vulnerable group in low-income and middle-income countries through its effects on the economy and health system performance. Design: We construct a sample of 5.2 million births by pooling retrospective birth histories reported by women in Demographic and Health Surveys conducted in 83 low-income and middle-income countries between 1985 and 2018. We employ regression models with country-specific fixed-effects and flexible time trends to estimate the impact of gross domestic product per capita on infant mortality rate. We then...

I know there is the temptation to look at the events in Afghanistan as some major failure of the Biden Administration, but it is not. This is who Biden has always been, what he ran on in the election, what everyone knew he would do, how he would sell out to the communist regime in China, do their bidding when he got into office. It was why they had to steal the election, because so many of us knew what a traitor, what a corrupt politician he was, that there was evidence of the bribes he took, verified by the...

Thanks for joining us as we conclude our two-part series on prayer. Last week we discussed “Prayer in the Hebrew Bible” and today, the New Testament. Jesus taught his disciples the do’s and don’ts of prayer in Matthew 6:5-9. He discouraged “show-off praying,” saying, “ ‘And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others.’ ” Instead, Jesus encouraged private prayer: “‘But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then...

The headlines are scary. Australia, locked down and people arrested for leaving home. Camps being set up for internment. In Chicago, a mother stripped of parental rights because she won’t get the jab. Teen athletes, stricken with myocarditis and pericarditis. Eric Clapton, who took the shot and lost the use of his hands, writing a protest song. Restaurants and venues requiring vaccination certificates for entry. Articles showing that in Israel, the most vaccinated country in the world, the vaccinated are falling to COVID in droves, while the unvaccinated aren’t having the same problems. What are we supposed to believe? Our...

In a dangerous world, Biden has been doing everything possible to project military weakness. Many of us have been warning that it’s dangerous to elect a person and his party when they project weakness, show weakness, and are weak. And we’ve warned that, if a Party, its candidates, most of its elected politicians, and its media denigrate the military in front of the entire world they are only weakening our country. Biden could immediately have exercised his power as the commander-in-chief of our military by explaining why we need a strong military. It would be one that would bring fear...

resident Biden said he would bring America back. No, the Taliban is back. In little more than seven months, he seems to be doing everything he can to bring America down.A guest on Dan Bongino’s radio show asked a question that demands an answer—If Biden wanted to destroy this country, would he do anything differently than what he has been doing? By looking at some of his policies and decisions in his first seven months, it could be argued that President Biden and his administration seem committed to destroying America as a beacon of freedom, law and order, and opportunity!...

They could control him if he were still with them; now, though, he’s on the warpath. Lieutenant Colonel Stuart Scheller was fired for speaking the truth about the fact that the top brass in the Pentagon never pay for their bad decisions, even as the ordinary men and women get no quarter for their errors. As soon as he’s free, Scheller intends to change that two-tiered system. In fact, we’ve been watching unfold for some time in America a two-tiered justice system. In the civilian world, one tier, the higher one, is for leftists and the other, the lower one,...

Hanoi (VNA) - The National Committee for Ethics in Biomedical Research under the Ministry of Health (MoH) has agreed that the mid-term results from Nano Covax's phase 3 clinical trials will be submitted to the Advisory Council for the Registration of Circulation of Drugs and Medicinal Ingredients for considering the issuance of a registration certificate for the conditional circulation of the vaccine. In its statement issued on August 28, the National Committee for Ethics in Biomedical Research affirmed that the homegrown COVID-19 vaccine meets safety requirements. The statement also mentioned the committee’s conclusion at its urgent meeting on August 22...

Blood is on the hands of all of those Trump-deranged people who did everything in their power, legal and illegal, to defeat Trump. No. There never has. No previous president in US history has been as willing to sacrifice America, American lives, and American power and standing in the world solely for political purposes. Are his traitorous actions purely political? Perhaps his motives are personal as well. Biden has been selling his soul for money for decades; to China, to Ukraine, to Pakistan. How else can he explain his massive wealth and multiple mansions on a salary of $174k? He...

The Taliban leaders are desperately looking for global recognition and ties with world powers, while China under Xi aims to exploit the war-ravaged country for its economic interests. Therefore, the China-Taliban relationship seems symbiotic. However, looking at the Taliban’s past, the future of this new-found bonhomie looks bleak China is in Taliban’s Afghanistan. President Xi Jinping is all out to make a deal with the mullahs. And it seems China is rejoicing the exit of the American and its allied forces from the Afghan soil. For China, it is a new ground to advance a unique model of foreign relations...

The tragedy and catastrophe that just happened in Afghanistan is more proof positive of my contention -- President Joe Biden, his family and his Democrat puppet handlers are China-owned. They are doing China's bidding. The Biden crime family is owned lock, stock and barrel by China and the Chinese Communist Party. Biden's stolen presidency is the best thing to ever happen to China. I don't need to remind all of you of what just happened in Afghanistan. Everyone saw it. The question is, can you believe your own eyes? How could this happen? This is the worst debacle in U.S....

A California teacher instructed her students to pledge allegiance to a gay pride flag after she removed the American flag from her classroom because it made her uncomfortable, according to a report. The school district has allegedly launched an investigation into the incident. Don't miss out on content from Dave Rubin free of big tech censorship. Listen to The Rubin Report now. The alleged teacher was exposed by the massively popular "Libs of TikTok" account on Twitter, which has over 176,000 followers. The page shared an apparent TikTok video of the teacher explaining how she handles the morning announcements in...

Found this really interesting. The official figure is 67 million but since then LOTS of immigrants. Latest census is out next year. I wonder if it's the same in the U.S? For example you often hear of the "11 million" illegals in America but they have used this number for years! What is the TRUE picture?

Ragnarok, a hacking gang that’s locked victims out of their computers and extorted them since 2019, suddenly appears to have called it quits. The group shared a free tool Thursday that will help previous victims unlock their files and gain access to their computers again, according to security researchers. It’s not clear why Ragnarok is abandoning its pilfering ways. But the apparent decision to self-destruct is a move that other ransomware gangs have been adopting as well. Ragnarok is the fifth ransomware operator that’s appeared to backtrack on its previous grift following increased international attention to ransomware hacking. Ziggy ransomware...

For those who don’t follow the game of golf or for those who simply missed it, 27 year-old golf professional Bryson DeChambeau shot the lights out on Friday at the BMW Championship just outside of Baltimore, Maryland. DeChambeau’s round was so spectacular – including two eagles and eight birdies – that he was on the verge of becoming the first person in golf history to break 60 on a course over 7,400 yards. Even though he just missed his six-footer for the 59 and the new record, his play electrified the thousands of golf fans at the event and mesmerized...

Ian Botham is leading a formidable alliance of opponents to new laws recognising that animals have feelings, with the former cricketer joining forces with Tory donors and farming leaders to lobby against the proposed legislation. The Animal Welfare (Sentience) Bill would enshrine in law the principle that animals are sentient and would create an animal sentience committee to scrutinise whether Ministers had paid due regard to their policies' 'adverse effect on the welfare of animals'. But Lord Botham, a country sports enthusiast who was ennobled by Boris Johnson last year as a crossbench peer, has described it as 'bizarre' that...
