Sen. Marco Rubio is circulating a memo aimed at emboldening Republicans to fight a measure that would distribute even more taxpayer money to nonworking parents. In a sign of the times, Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida, is circulating a memo aimed at emboldening Republicans to fight a measure that would distribute federal money to nonworking parents, worsening “poverty traps” by extending the new child allowance through the budget reconciliation bill. Rubio’s memo also criticizes the media for characterizing Democrats’ proposal as an “expanded child tax credit” when the money “goes to parents with zero tax liability, or who are simply not working...

This is called ‘the soft bigotry of low expectations‘. Oregon Governor Kate Brown has cancelled the proficiency standards for reading, writing and math from High School graduation requirements. The governors office says “suspending the reading, writing and math proficiency requirements … will benefit “Oregon’s Black, Latino, Latina, Latinx, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander, Tribal, and students of color.” In essence, the students of color are not smart enough to learn reading, writing or math – so they shouldn’t be expected to read, write or understand mathematics. Kate Brown looks, sounds and acts like a typical left-wing moonbat. It’s hard to imagine...

self-branded conservative wine company released perhaps one of the most patriotic advertisements ever made Wednesday. It juxtaposed a speech from former President Ronald Reagan against the social strife the U.S. has experienced in recent months. We The People Wine released the ad, saying it’s time to “fight for our freedom." “Our nation and our freedom is under attack from fellow Americans,” the company tweeted. “THEY claim America was ‘never great.’ THEY demand we fall in line and stay silent. WE the People beg to differ … and we’re here to celebrate, defend, and fight for our freedom with ‘We the...

FDA signals vaccine could green light early Their concern that the FDA may be moving too quickly heightened when FDA Commissioner Dr. Steven Hahn told the Financial Times that his agency could consider an emergency use authorization (EUA) for a Covid-19 vaccine before late stage clinical trials are complete if the data show strong enough evidence it would protect people. That's what happened with hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine. The FDA granted an EUA to the drugs -- much praised by President Donald Trump -- on March 28. It subsequently revoked its EUA in June after studies showed they were not effective...

“‘Do not lay up for yourselves treasures upon earth’” (Matthew 6:19). Wealth comes from God, and we are to manage it wisely for Him. John Wesley was a godly man who devoted his life to serving the Lord. What is not as well known perhaps is that he was rich, gaining most of his wealth from his published hymns and other works. At one point in his life he gave away 40,000 pounds sterling—a fortune in those days. When he died, his estate was worth only twenty-eight pounds, for he had given nearly everything to the Lord’s work. It is...

Over the years, I have heard of many believers who are still bound by sinful habits. Multitudes of struggling Christians struggle, “I can’t stop gambling… I’m in the grips of an alcohol addiction… I’m having an affair, and I can’t break it off… I’m a slave to pornography.” In every case these people say the same thing: “I love Jesus, and I’ve begged God to free me. I’ve prayed, wept and sought godly counsel. But I just can’t break free. What can I do?” I’ve spent much time seeking the Lord for wisdom on how to answer these believers. I...

WASHINGTON, Friday, Aug. 9, 1861. The absence of Mr. CHASE, Secretary of the Treasury, and of Mr. CAMERON, Secretary of War, has occasioned the establishment of the practice of inviting the Assistant Secretaries to Cabinet meetings in the absence of their respective Chiefs. Under this rule, Mr. HARRINGTON, of the Treasury, and SCOTT, of the War Department, attended the Cabinet session held to-day. I am not aware that the practice has ever before obtained -- certainly it has not under several Administrations. In the practical workings of their respective departments, Messrs. SCOTT and HARRINGTON are quite as competent to give...

Herein lies a glimpse into just what kind of knuckle-draggers the left thinks we are. They think patriotism means we’ll do whatever they say whenever they say it.“Rooting against Olympians, scoffing at Capitol police, broaching civil war — meet today’s conservative movement.”That’s the opening of an article last week at Vox.com. You’ve probably heard of Vox. Their self-proclaimed, self-aggrandizing purpose is to “explain the news.” But when Vox’s condescending reporters start talking about conservatives, Christians, guns, or really anyone outside of a few coastal cities, they have a habit of sounding like Jane Goodall observing apes. So, what’s their qualm now?...

Suggested Prerequisites *As stated in the shielding document* Each green zone has a dedicated latrine/bathing facility for high-risk individuals Considerations as suggested by CDC The shielding approach advises against any new facility construction to establish green zones; however, few settings will have existing shelters or communal facilities with designated latrines/bathing facilities to accommodate high-risk individuals. In these settings, most latrines used by HHs are located outside the home and often shared by multiple HHs. If dedicated facilities are available, ensure safety measures such as proper lighting, handwashing/hygiene infrastructure, maintenance and disinfection of latrines. Ensure facilities can accommodate high-risk individuals with...

While many people have bragged about being “fully vaccinated” after taking two COVID-19 jabs, a Swedish professor says that as many as five shots may be needed to combat falling immunity. “We don’t know how long the vaccine protects against serious illness and death,” said Karolinska Institute Professor Matti Sällberg. “This means that you pick the safe before the unsafe.” Numerous European countries are planning a 3rd round of COVID “booster shots” in September, and the FDA also indicated that vaccinated individuals will be given another shot in the fall. However, Sällberg suggests this probably won’t be enough and that...
