Native American and white parents of multi-racial students at Lakeville Area Schools, alongside other Lakeville parents and students, have filed a federal lawsuit challenging the posting of Black Lives Matter posters on school property, claiming the schools refuse to post divergent views such as 'All Lives Matter' and Blue Lives Matter posters.
The lawsuit is filed against Independent School District 194 and Superintendent Michael Baumann. The plan named in the suit include Bob and Cynthia Cajune, Kaylynn Kay Aker, Lion 194, and others who are not identified.
The lawsuit states Black Lives Matter posters were posted on school property in response to input from some members of the Lakeville community. The suit was filed after the school refused the Cajunes' request that Blue Lives Matter and 'All Lives Matter' posters be posted. The school said their reasoning was the other two posters 'were created specifically in opposition to Black Lives Matter' and that those messages 'effectively discount the struggle the Black students have faced in our school buildings and that Black individuals face in our society as a whole.'
The lawsuit claims that this position is 'false,' stating it violates the First Amendment on viewpoint discrimination in the public square.
'Black Lives Matter, of course, but so do all other human lives. Posting 'BLM' signs and disallowing 'All Lives Matter' signs is political speech or viewpoint discrimination. Discriminating against or demeaning any race is not neutral and is wrong,' Bob Cajune said in a statement.
Lakeville Area Schools issued the following statement on the matter Monday afternoon:
While we have not yet been served a complaint, it is our understanding that one was filed in United States District Court on August 6, 2021. We disagree with the claims made against Lakeville Area Schools …

These public schools are pure toxic. Too far gone to change. Get your kids out of these schools....home school or find a private school that matches your values. Kids are bombarded enough every day with social media and the media in general. It is disgusting.
This is a weird statement. Are the other parents of a race other than white and Native~American?
More of this needed. Next, file suit when school districts try to indoctrinate the racist garbage of CRT.
They were just calling out their “race cred”.
“Get your kids out of these schools....home school or find a private school that matches your values. “
I totally understand the sentiment, but that’s how we got here. Too many people ran away from public schools, and the leftists filled the void. They indoctrinated more kids than were educated through home school/private school.
The schools are where the real fight is.
You are absolutely correct. Even if you take your kids out of public school, you are still a taxpayer, and you have a right to direct how your money is spent. The local people should simply go to the District offices and force their will on the officials. Occupy and demand that your wishes are carried out.
I don’t think there’s a legal basis for this suit. Schools teach one thing, but not another, based on what the democratically elected school board and legislature has told them to teach. The teachers are required to teach the prescribed curriculum, not anything they feel like.
So if you don’t like it, your correct remedy is to elect new officials who will teach what you think should be taught.
Yeah thing is, the old ways of the Conserva-cons in the Old Republic longer work. Legal basis and elections don’t matter. Lawfare and occupations do.

This isn’t about what the curriculum is, this is about the schools posting political advocacy statements from only one viewpoint and disallowing others.

BLM is going to drive away Latino voters leaving Democrats scratching their heads, wondering how this happened.
Over a week has now passed since the President of the United States set precedence in openly defying a Supreme Court order to extend the eviction moratorium, after he himself said doing so wasn't constitutional. Yet he did it anyways.
This is the clear definition of an impeachable offense.
From the GOP, crickets...
LIVES MATTER. Is that so hard?
Limiting it to one group discounts the rights of everyone else. Commies are relentless and Republicans are cowards.
God bless these regular people with a voice.
