If you think that the committee hearings on the 1/6 riot are anything more than political theater, you’re doing yourself a disservice. So many tears shed—or at least people trying to shed them—during these hearings so far. It makes one wonder what about the real agenda for this whole committee. Congressman Jim banks has a theory for why Papathansiou and other officers’ voices are being shut out of the hearings, and it comes down to the fact that their testimony does not advance Pelosi’s narrative of Conservative violence. Banks said, “At yesterday’s January 6th Select Committee hearing, we only heard...

Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., told "America’s Newsroom" on Thursday that he would rather get fined again than abide by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's reinstated mask mandate in the House chamber. "Hell no, I’m not backing down," Massie, who had already been fined once for failing to wear a mask on the House floor, told host Bill Hemmer. Massie and other GOP representatives, including Brian Mast of Florida and Ralph Norman of South Carolina, were issued a $500 fine apiece. Future violations could reach $2,500. Massie has joined a federal lawsuit against Pelosi over the $500 fine, FOX 56 reported, noting...

Judge Wyatt McKay sentenced him to life plus 31 years in prison, without parole. The Republican-run Ohio General Assembly and Republican Governor Mike DeWine just gave Larosa a chance for parole. What a pack of useful idiots. No, I do not know Mrs. Belcastro. I mean, I grew up around women who were like her. But no, her grandson Brian Kirk contacted me because he is trying to shine some light on how awful this new law is. The sentencing of Larosa in October 2018 gave the family some closure. The Ohio Republican Party just opened that door again.

More than 10,000 troops from China and Russia will stage a drill together in a further tightening of their defence partnership. Chinese defence ministry spokesman Wu Qian said on Thursday that the exercise in China’s Ningxia Hui autonomous region would take place in early August. The move comes as both countries face a deteriorating relationship with the US. “The purpose of this exercise is to consolidate and develop a comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation between China and Russia,” Wu said during a regular press briefing in Beijing.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is caught between a rock and a hard place when it comes to the guidance they issue regarding Covid-19. On one hand, they need to get the word out about the latest dizzying spin to their “scientific” protocols. On the other hand, they have to explain why their guidance is in such a state of chaos, changing just as quickly today as it did when very little was known about the “novel coronavirus” early last year. This week, they made changes to their guidance, and one item, in particular, got a lot...

Reps. Louie Gohmert, Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Paul Gosar, together with a small group of Republican members of Congress, traveled to the DC correctional facility that houses the January 6th detainees and requested a tour to observe their conditions. They did this since the administration has so far refused to give them any information regarding the facility. According to Louie Gohmert, they showed their IDs and were eventually told they’d need to wear masks, which they readily complied with. After a a few minutes, a woman came out and told them her supervisor says they were trespassing. They...

The number of coronavirus cases reported each day in the UK is falling almost quickly as it rose earlier this summer. During the first two weeks of July, average daily cases reported there jumped 80%, with the single-day total peaking at nearly 55,000 on July 17. That's close to the levels recorded during the worst days of the UK's winter outbreak, when vaccines weren't yet widely available. But cases have dropped dramatically in the past week, down to just 25,000 reported Monday, as shown in the chart below. Experts, though surprised, have a few theories as to what happened. A...

As a kid I used to read stories about how Babe Ruth (or was it Ted Williams, maybe both) visited a terminally ill child, promised to hit a home run in his honor in the next game, and delivered. Were these stories true? I don’t know, but I enjoyed them. Something close to this scenario occurred in Baltimore last night. Trey Mancini plays first base for the Orioles. ... Mancini missed all of last season. He was diagnosed with stage-three colon cancer and underwent surgery and lengthy recovery/rehabilitation. During the rehabilitation process, he got to know Mo Gaba, a terminally...

Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs won’t impose any new restrictions or mask mandates, even with the rise of the Delta variant and regular cases. The mayor made this declaration in response to National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAIH) Director Dr. Anthony Fauci’s interview with CNN anchor Jake Tapper. Fauci revealed that he and other public health officials were considering renewed guidance recommending masks for fully-vaccinated individuals. “As we once again hear talk about lockdowns and mandates across the country, I feel it is important I make it clear that under no circumstances will I issue any new COVID...

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s latest confused pronouncement about masks is another blow to the embattled agency, whose track record hasn’t been exactly brilliant. For months, the CDC has married a god-awful communications strategy with a determination to cater to the most irrational whims of the paranoid, triple-masking urban gentry: the whims of the archetypical Karen, in other words. The latest stutter-step is an embarrassment for the public-health establishment and for a Team Biden left trying to explain what the CDC meant. But there’s also an opportunity here for Republicans heading into the 2022 election: The GOP should...

The worst moment of Joseph R. Biden’s life — the 1972 car crash that killed his wife and baby daughter — has drawn renewed attention over a falsehood that the former vice president repeated for years: that the other driver was drunk. From 2001-07, Mr. Biden indicated at least twice that the tractor-trailer driver who hit his wife’s car had been drinking, even though the state official who oversaw the investigation and the driver’s daughter said that wasn’t true. During the 2008 presidential campaign, Pamela Hamill, the daughter of driver Curtis C. Dunn, called on Mr. Biden to apologize publicly...

Plasmonic Field Enhancement at Oxide/Metal Interfaces for Condensed Matter Nuclear Fusion Katsuaki Tanabe∗ Department of Chemical Engineering, Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan --------------------------------------------------- Abstract The enhancement of electromagnetic field energy density around planar metal/oxide interfaces and metal nanoparticles in oxide matrices has been quantitatively investigated, to analyze the experiments reported so far, as well as to provide a design guide for future experimental systems. We have found that a certain degree of enhancement is available for commonly used material combinations in the field of condensed-matter nuclear fusion, and use of Ag, Al, Au, and Cu would particularly provide significantly larger enhancement....

A hilltop Los Angeles mansion with a retractable roof and two panic rooms has sold for $83 million, shattering residential sales records on the Westside of Los Angeles. While the house was never formally offered for sale, it had once been marketed as an $88 million pocket listing, and was also briefly offered for rent at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, asking $350,000 per month. Real estate sources say the new owner’s fortune comes from their cryptocurrency holdings, though the name of the billionaire buyer—and whether they’ve already moved into the wildly extravagant mansion—publicly remains a mystery, for now.
