Reps. Louie Gohmert, Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Paul Gosar, together with a small group of Republican members of Congress, traveled to the DC correctional facility that houses the January 6th detainees and requested a tour to observe their conditions. They did this since the administration has so far refused to give them any information regarding the facility.
According to Louie Gohmert, they showed their IDs and were eventually told they’d need to wear masks, which they readily complied with. After a a few minutes, a woman came out and told them her supervisor says they were trespassing. They argued that as members of Congress they have oversight and should be able to at least tour the facility, but to no avail. When they asked to speak to the woman’s supervisor, they were told to wait.
...
Several detainees have spoken out against alleged torture to January 6 protesters within the facility, as we covered at enVolve during the previous month. The fact that they refuse to let members of Congress see the facility and observe the conditions inside only gives credence to those assertions.

Can they get a court order?
Isn’t that what “bring me the body” writs are for?

According to Article 17.151 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, a person who is detained in jail pending trial of a felony-level offense must be released either on personal bond or by reducing the amount of bail required, if the state is not ready for trial within 90 days from the beginning of the detention if accused of a felony. The time limitation is 30 days from the beginning of the detention
It is Washington, D.C. The Left, A/K/A, Democrats control everything, including the Courts.
Should be filing lawsuits.
I hope this isn’t the end of it. Unfortunately, Congress critters usually stop trying after the cameras are gone.
Why am I thinking of The Bastille?
We fully deserve the nation that we have.
Tens of thousands of us should be heading to DC
Congress controls the District of Columbia. All local power their flows from Congress.
Thumb your nose at members of Congress, you risk losing it all.
If they truly do have oversight (which I believe they do), They need to bring in bigger guns than those guarding the facility.
Does anybody know anybody in this jail?
I’m starting to wonder if there is anybody in there.
Only Republicans.
Democrats will shame your mother and burn down your city to get their way.
And the cameras will always be there. With commentators blaming Republicans for what the Democrats are doing.
Incredible. This is the tail wagging the dog.

They’ll let the congress critters in once they’ve cleaned up all the bad stuff. Then the message will be “the more than humane conditions” these detainees are privileged to enjoy.
Sick of both sides as they act as if they have the stones to do something yet when the rubber hits the road its the gladly pay you Tuesday for a burger today type of crowd.
I’m missing something. How does Texas law apply here?
