In a massive leap forward for autonomous robots, Cassie the running robot has completed an entire 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) run in 53 minutes, becoming the first bipedal robot to use machine learning to control an outdoor running gait. Developed by researchers from Oregon State University and Agility Robotics, the robotic pair of legs may open doors to a host of new animal- and human-inspired machines. What makes the feat so impressive is that Cassie learnt to walk by itself, using just machine-learning and a lot of failure to gain the balance and gait required to go for extended runs. Through these...

Ever since the Food and Drug Administration granted emergency use authorization for two new vaccines, employers, schools, and other organizations are grappling with whether to require Covid-19 vaccination. While organizations are certainly free to encourage their employees, students, and other members to be vaccinated, federal law provides that, at least until the vaccine is licensed, individuals must have the option to accept or decline to be vaccinated.Knowing what an organization can or cannot do with respect to Covid-19 vaccines can help them keep their employees, students, and members safe and also save the them from costly and time-consuming litigation.Much remains unknown...

Republican Rep. Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma defended the anonymous Capitol Police officer who shot and killed Ashli Babbitt on Jan. 6 during a weekend conversation with C-SPAN. In a program that aired on Sunday, Mullin broke with other high-profile conservatives, including former President Donald Trump, who have condemned Babbitt’s death and the secrecy surrounding it. Mullin apparently not only knows the identity of the officer who killed Babbitt, but he told C-SPAN he actually hugged him immediately following the fatal shooting. “After it happened, he came over and he was physically and emotionally distraught. And I actually gave him a...

Fox News Channel finished July as the most-watched network across all of basic cable as liberal CNN fell to new lows in key categories. Americans flocked to Fox News during a busy month that included coverage of tragic Miami building collapse, Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos launching into space and ongoing coverage of the coronavirus pandemic. Fox News averaged 1.2 million viewers to finish as the No. 1 basic cable network among total day viewers, followed by MSNBC and HGTV.

"A Boeing 747 pilot reported seeing an object that might have resembled a jet pack 15 miles east of LAX at 5,000ft altitude," the Federal Aviation Administration told CBS. "Out of an abundance of caution, air traffic controllers alerted other pilots in the vicinity." The FAA has not yet responded to a request for further comment from The Sun. A man in similar garb and get-up was spotted nearly a year ago just miles from the airport. Video captured from the event shows the "jet pack guy" flying through the air, at that time, only 3,000ft in the air.

Netflix has reportedly become the first Hollywood studio to mandate full COVID-19 vaccinations for all actors working on the streamer’s U.S. productions. The vaccine will also be required for all crew members who come in contact with them. Deadline reported Wednesday that Netflix is requiring vaccinations for everyone working in “Zone A” — the area of a set where actors congregate and where actors come in close proximity to crew members.

What You Can Do If you’ve been fully vaccinated: • You can resume activities that you did prior to the pandemic. • To reduce the risk of being infected with the Delta variant and possibly spreading it to others, wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission. • You might choose to wear a mask regardless of the level of transmission if you have a weakened immune system or if, because of your age or an underlying medical condition, you are at increased risk for severe disease, or if a member...

LA QUINTA COLUMNA AT THE XXVII HUMANITARIAN CONFERENCE OF COMUSAV / CONUVIVE (rumble.com)I can believe that this important content may be incomplete –that the biowarfare against us may have additional means and strategies. The video is recorded in Spanish and provides English subtitles. I deeply appreciate the work of those who prepared the English subtitles: Gracias! There are minor errors in the subtitles, and not speaking the language meant that I sometimes missed the intention of content by accepting it as literal statement when it was an analysis of theories for the purpose of showing why they don’t work.LA QUINTA COLUMNA...

A powerful earthquake which struck just off Alaska’s southern coast caused prolonged shaking and prompted tsunami warnings that sent people scrambling for shelters. Residents reported only minor damage, but officials said that could change after sunrise and people get a better look. The National Tsunami Warning Center canceled the warnings early Thursday when the biggest wave, of just over a half foot, was recorded in Old Harbor. A tsunami warning that had also been issued for Hawaii was also canceled, and officials said there was no threat to Guam, American Samoa or the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands.

CNN host John Berman on Thursday placed blame for the rising number of coronavirus cases in America on the unvaccinated. "If the unvaccinated are not to blame, who is?" Berman asked on New Day. "This is now a pandemic of the unvaccinated. It is now a pandemic of choice— the choice not to get vaccinated. And it's a choice that's having a profound impact, a bad one on the rest of us. The facts bear it out."

Get the shot or take a hike. After months of reluctance, Corporate America is taking a stand on keeping its returning workers safe. A growing number of companies are requiring vaccinations for employees and in some cases, for clients and customers. Most companies are allowing for very rare religious and health exemptions, of course. But the "I read something scary on Facebook" excuse doesn't apply anymore. Wall Street offices are filling up fast. And vaccines are required. The financial sector says get vaxxed or find a new job. BlackRock (BLK) and Morgan Stanley (MS) announced all employees must be vaccinated...

WASHINGTON, Sunday, July 28. Information was received this evening relative to Messrs. ARNOLD, HARRIS and McGRAW, who, several days ago went in quest of the body of Col. CAMERON. The former was sent by the Confederates to Richmond, and the latter to Manassas Junction. They did not accomplish the object of their mission. Mr. BUCH who took them to Bull's Run has returned, and reports that all the dead are not yet buried, and that the slaughter on the side of the enemy is greater by far than they themselves represented. It is believed that Gen. MCCLELLAN has been assigned...

This might be a good option for the United States to begin to turn back the tide of the brainwashing that the colleges and universities inflict on America's students. A break in the left-wing indoctrination of the education system may be just what the country needs. A strong military history education during conscription as well as a few courses on the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights might go a long way for turning the tides of socialism and the lurking communism in our society today.

Sort of a PSA intended for those that have already had Covid, or suspect that they have, and cleared the sickness. There is now a way via testing to demonstrate that you have the immunization via T-cell testing.

After surging for months because of the hypercontagious Delta variant, COVID-19 cases in the United Kingdom are rapidly plummeting, raising the question of whether America’s Delta wave could also peak sooner than expected. “In the United Kingdom … cases are clearly coming down at this point,” Dr. Scott Gottlieb, the former Food and Drug Administration commissioner, told CNBC on Monday. “If the U.K. is turning the corner, it’s a pretty good indication that maybe we’re further into this than we think, and maybe we’re two or three weeks away from starting to see our own plateau here in the United...

MSNBC “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough on Thursday reacted to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) pushing for people to get vaccinated amid the recent uptick in coronavirus cases. McConnell criticized people for giving bad advice regarding vaccines and COVID-19, blaming them for low vaccination rates across the country. Scarborough set aside McConnell’s comments regarding the riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6 to commend the Kentucky Republican for being “very consistent” regarding getting people vaccinated instead of having them listen to the “voodoo science” and “cult leaders.”

On Monday, President Biden announced that U.S. troops in Iraq would be out of the combat business at the end of the year, but said the troops would “continue to train, to assist” Iraqi Security Forces starting in January 2022. This represents the latest in a multi-generational unwillingness on Washington’s part to acknowledge reality and get our troops completely out of Iraq – and keep them out.

My family had a scare today. Not the first one, but the scariest. My elderly parents live with me for this exact reason: so I can get them help in an emergency if/when they need it. I awoke to my mother lying on the couch, white as a ghost and holding her chest. I asked what was wrong and she told me she was having chest pains. After checking her blood pressure, I rushed her to our local ER. What transpired next left me dumbfounded and wondering if there is any way to fix what we witnessed. The first issue...

Nicolle Wallace has let the Democrats' cat out of the bag regarding the January 6 hearings. Somebody should have told Wallace that she wasn't supposed to admit that the 1/6 hearings are fundamentally about giving the Dems a platform for the 2022 midterm elections. But Wallace couldn't help herself. On her MSNBC show this afternoon, after admitting that "this is absolutely political," she said: "I think the security questions of the Republican party as a domestic-terror threat should be front and center for the Democrats in these midterm elections."Get the rest of the story and view the video here.
