I cant be the only one to be blindsided by what seems to be such an unfair practice in the auto-leasing industry. I was planning to buy out the lease on a car when it came due in 2 months. Unfortunately the car was totaled (no injuries). The car is valued at $20K (round figures here). I owe $14K (been paying on it 3 years). Heres the kicker...the leasing company says that they are due $20K from the insurance company not the $14K that is owed...which is completely backwards from logic IMHO. Has anyone ever had to deal with this??...

Advertisement - story continues below It’s 2021 so the company is going in a new direction by getting rid of the ‘angels’ and bringing in America-hating, purple-haired SJW Megan Rapinoe, transgender models and plus size (obese) women. “When the world was changing, we were too slow to respond,” Martin Waters, the chief executive of Victoria’s Secret told The New York Times. “We needed to stop being about what men want and to be about what...

The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to hear an appeal asked for by Ford regarding import duties on some Ford Transit Connect vans. The decision could cost Ford up to $1.3 billion in penalties. The vans were built in Turkey and imported into the U.S. The problem, though, is that Ford declared that they were passenger vans. That meant that the company only had to pay 2.5% import duty on the vehicles, rather than the 25% duty levied against cargo vehicles as part of what is commonly referred to as the “chicken tax.” * snip * It [the Justice Department]...

New Delhi -- The Government on Wednesday asserted that microblogging platform Twitter has lost its legal protection in India because it deliberately chose non-compliance despite multiple opportunities to it. Losing legal protection means Twitter’s top executives, including the nation’s managing director, face police questioning and criminal liability under the Indian Penal Code over “unlawful and inflammatory” content posted by users on Twitter. Accusing Twitter of deliberately refusing to comply with Indian laws, in identical posts on Twitter as well as its Indian rival Koo, Union IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said Twitter was given “multiple opportunities to comply” but it...

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz joined the growing list of GOP lawmakers calling for the removal of Dr. Anthony Fauci Tuesday, arguing he is "political and not scientific." Fauci, President Biden's chief medical adviser and director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has faced severe backlash following the release of thousands of emails obtained through Freedom of Information Act requests earlier this month, revealing the top doctor's communications from early on in the pandemic. Republicans have taken issue with what they believe is a stance reversal by Fauci on issues ranging from masks mandates to the origin...

June 16 (UPI) -- A single dose of one of the two-shot COVID-19 vaccines prevented an estimated 95% of new infections among healthcare workers two weeks after receiving the jab, a study published Wednesday by JAMA Network Open found. The first dose of the Moderna vaccine was 78% effective at preventing new cases just one week after clinical staff were inoculated, the data showed. Still, 39, or just over 1%, of the nearly 3,400 health workers who received the vaccine later became infected with the virus, said researchers, from the VA Boston Healthcare System. These "breakthrough" infections occurred at least...

As Christians in Paul’s day sensed the destruction of Jerusalem drawing near, they wanted to know more about prophetic events. They were fearful about rumors concerning the ruthlessness of invading armies who took multitudes captive into slavery. It caused these believers to sense that perilous times were close at hand. They asked Paul to tell them more about what was to come and how to read the times. Paul responded with these words of assurance: “But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the...
