Having a pet can be an extremely fulfilling experience. You get companionship and with that, intriguing anecdotes tend to follow. However, not many stories would be able to match up with what Zul, a local TikToker, posted last Wednesday (June 9). It's not every day you come across a flooded home caused by your pet cats' mischievous actions. But for Zul, it wasn't the first time either. "I'm speechless guys, it's the second time. Both the same, when I'm sleeping with no one else home," Zul said. Zul doesn't only have one or two cats, he's got a clowder of...

According to a Wall Street Journal report, BlackRock – led by billionaire Laurence Fink – is purchasing entire neighborhoods and converting single-family homes into rentals; while in cities like Houston, investors like Fink account for one-quarter of the home purchasers. A Florida appellate court delivered a devastating blow to government-induced forced public masking in the state on Friday with a narrow 2-1 decision that finally took into account citizen privacy rights that have often been ignored throughout the pandemic. In overturning and sending back for reconsideration the decision of a circuit judge in favor of Alachua County's mask requirement, the 1st District Court of Appeal panel cited the state Supreme Court's interpretation of privacy rights "so broad as to include the complete freedom of a person to control his own body," Fox13 reported. A panel of the 1st District Court...

Those aren’t olives. An Ohio restaurant seems to have found a use for the Brood X cicadas pestering parts of the Midwest. The Pizza Bandit in Dayton tested out a Spicy Thai Cicada Pie. Yes, that’s a pizza with cicadas on it. Before you get too excited — or repulsed — know that the restaurant is not selling cicada-topped pizzas. In a Facebook post showing off the new creation, the business noted, “We’re not even sure if we legally can sell you locally foraged Cicadas.” The restaurant did livestream a tasting panel trying out the pizza, which also featured miso...

Democrat Rep. Thomas Suozzi is exploring a one-time tax on wealthy Americans as Democrats are looking for ways to pay for their partisan wish list while they control Congress. Suozzi (D-NY), who sits on the House Ways and Means Committee, told the Hill he is looking into a one-time tax on millionaires, called the “patriot tax.” The tax would be a “one-time surcharge of 2.5 percent on wealth between $50 million and $100 million and a 5 percent tax on wealth above $100 million.” According to Suozzi, the affected Americans would be able to pay the tax over a five-year...

We Must Obey Francis - Especially When It Comes To the Traditional Latin Mass. By Father Franz Paprovich*By now everybody knows it. The Traditional Latin Mass is as good as abolished. Of course, I will obey the Pope and make his directives my own. He is a role model for me, especially in the liturgy - and therefore I will act entirely in his spirit. The Pope has been telling us many times that we should be freed from the rigidity of the law and also from idealisms that do no good. We are not servants of the letter, but enjoy...

The Minnesota Court of Appeals on Monday affirmed state regulators' key approvals of Enbridge Energy's Line 3 oil pipeline replacement project, in a dispute that drew over 1,000 protesters to northern Minnesota last week. A three-judge panel ruled 2-1 that the state's independent Public Utilities Commission correctly granted Enbridge the certificate of need and route permit that the Canadian-based company needed to begin construction on the 337-mile (542-kilometer) Minnesota segment of a larger project to replace a 1960s-era crude oil pipeline that has been deteriorating and can run at only half capacity. Pipeline opponents can appeal the decision to the...

China was one focal point of the discussions, with President Joe Biden pushing leaders to compete against the country. Cardinal Defends Latin Mass Against Francis’ CrusadeHong Kong Cardinal Joseph Zen, 89, is worried about possible restrictions Francis may impose on the Traditional Latin Mass.On his blog OldYosef.hkdavc.com (June 12), he makes a point in stressing that he is "clearly not considered an extremist" of the Roman Rite and that he has worked actively for the Novus Ordo as a priest and bishop.Nevertheless, Zen cannot deny the good that came from the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum. Through the Roman Rite, many young people of Hong Kong have "rediscovered the sense of adoration and reverence we owe to God, our Creator.”Zen...

Joe Biden’s Department of ‘Justice’ is desperate to stop the Arizona 2020 election audit and with good reason: Once the the massive voter fraud that occurred there is revealed, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Michigan might be next in the queue. Over the last seven months, have you been snookered by the Leftist media machine, the DNC, big tech (particularly Twitter, Google, and Facebook), Hollywood, and the TV pundits? They insist that not much was wrong with the November 3rd election. If you only paid attention to these sources, you would conclude that anyone who voted for Donald Trump and believes that...

If this reporting turns out to be accurate, this will be an explosive development. However, that said, if this report is accurate… this is likely the reason why Maricopa County officials have been fighting the audit, hiring lawyers and positioning themselves in an attempt to undermine the chain-of-custody of the ballots. Remember, the county Board of Supervisors would not let the State Senate audit take place in their tabulations center. In an effort to block and stall the audit, the county officials forced the audit organizers to transfer the tabulation machines and truckloads of ballots to the Veterans Coliseum. Then...

PORTLAND (WGME) -- Eight Mainers have died with COVID-19 after being fully vaccinated, according to the Maine CDC. While it's a rare occurrence, it can leave families in shock and heartbroken. Eager and ready for normalcy, Arthur Mitchell got his second dose of the Moderna vaccine on March 8. “Counted out his two weeks to be fully vaccinated, was very excited about that,” daughter Margaret Staggs said. Staggs says once the family was fully vaccinated, they finally relaxed after a year of restrictions. “We probably all took a deep breath and let our guard down a little bit,” Staggs said....

The kidnapping of a cafe’s beloved garden gnome in the Portobello area of Edinburgh, Scotland, has locals mesmerized. The gnome went missing in early June from the Butternut Squash Café, which was soon sent a bizarre ransom note demanding no money, but cheesecake. The cafe posted a pic of the note on its Facebook page which read: “We have your gnome. If you want to see him again leave 2 cheesecakes when you shut the cafe, We will be watching.” The cafe refused to bow to the specific demands and instead left two pieces of shortbread outside the eatery with...

Sea level rise isn’t the only way climate change will devastate the coast. Our research, published on May 20, found it is also making waves more powerful, particularly in the Southern Hemisphere. We plotted the trajectory of these stronger waves and found the coasts of South Australia and Western Australia, Pacific and Caribbean Islands, East Indonesia and Japan, and South Africa are already experiencing more powerful waves because of global warming. This will compound the effects of sea level rise, putting low-lying island nations in the Pacific — such as Tuvalu, Kiribati and the Marshall Islands — in further danger,...
