While the showy presidential election campaign in Iran is underway among the seven candidates who have passed the Guardian Council filter, and so far there have been two public debates between these candidates, due to the widespread boycott of this election, these debates have been ignored by the majority of people. Given the bitter experience that the leader of the regime, Ali Khamenei, had first in 2009 in the aftermath of that election campaign and televised debates, he stressed from the beginning that this year there should not be bipolar elections. As a result, his appointed Guardian Council disqualified...

Alonzo Soliz said he's noticing something new about the job applications he's been getting for his two smoothie cafes in Texas: Most of them are from teenagers. "We're probably averaging five to seven applications a day at both of our locations," Soliz told CBS MoneyWatch. "It seems like every application that comes in is from a teen who has never had a job before." Soliz said he's hoping to hire a few older workers — those in their 20s and even 30s — to fill more manager-type roles, but he's not receiving as many applications from this age group as...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi accused Ilhan Omar of fomenting 'prejudice' by drawing false equivalence between democracies such as U.S. and Israel and terrorist groups such as Hamas and the Taliban. Her condemnation is the latest sign of tensions within the Democratic Party, as progressive members of the so-called 'squad' insist that Israel be held accountable for its actions against Palestinians. Omar accused her critics within the Democratic Party of whipping up 'Islamic hate against her' after they complained she was comparing atrocities committed by American and Israeli troops with those of terrorist groups.

One of the daytime talk show’s co-hosts, Joy Behar, asked Jenner if she would acknowledge that President Joe Biden defeated Trump this past November.

Facebook has been blamed for fueling the border crisis as human smugglers are using its platform to organize the passage of desperate migrants into the US in exchange for as little as $1,700. Dozens of Facebook pages and groups openly offer illegal crossings across the US-Mexico border, posting prices, routes, discount options, videos they claim show successful trips - and even testimonials from what they claim to be happy customers. The Tech Transparency Project (TTP), which unearthed the groups in a damning report this week, said Facebook has become a 'one stop shop' for 'coyote' people smugglers and dangerous cartels...

[…] In a new interview, Obama has incredibly referred to both Poland and Hungary as being ‘authoritarian’. For what purpose? Likely because of their high birth rates, their religiosity, their reluctance towards Americanization. In the interview on CNN with Anderson Cooper, who once worked for the CIA, Obama refers to them as being ‘authoritarian’...
