The superintendent for White Bear Lake Area Schools says racist and threatening messages sent to students of color over social media were a hoax. The messages triggered a walkout last week at White Bear Lake High School's South Campus. According to Superintendent Wayne Kazmierczak, a student admitted to creating a fake Instagram account and sending messages to other students. The Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled against Governor Tony Evers Wednesday morning, finding that he doesn't have the authority to limit the capacity of bars and restaurants during the COVID-19 pandemic without the approval of the state legislature.
