Young adults have fueled the latest surge in COVID-19 cases on a national level, according to the director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Dr. Rochelle Walensky on Monday blamed the increase in cases on young adults taking part in “youth sports and extracurricular activities,” as well as an increasing spread of more highly transmissible variants from the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, according to a White House press release. The CCP virus, commonly referred to as the novel coronavirus, causes the disease COVID-19 and originated from China early last year, turning into a worldwide pandemic....

This high-voltage rapper, born in Vancouver, now in L.A., possesses a Broadway hit of showbiz skills. More startling, he mocks political extremists by extolling common sense. Tom MacDonald is now vaccinating many millions of people against the brainwashing in our media and schools. Hopefully, people experiencing his fire and satire will not be so eager to embrace wannabe dictators. Indeed, they will be inclined to say: Bugger off, creeps. The man can rap a streak. It's been said that MacDonald explains more in three minutes than most others in a year: Black lives matter, all lives matter./ What's all this...

KEY POINTS The Supreme Court erased a federal appeals court decision holding that former President Trump violated the Constitution by blocking his critics on Twitter. The justices vacated the decision from the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and sent it back to the lower court with instructions to dismiss the case as “moot,” or no longer active, now that Trump is a private citizen. The action means the lower court’s decision will no longer bind future judges. The announcement came in an order list and without a written explanation of the court’s reasoning. There were no noted dissents.

The Oklahoma City Police Department released a video showing inmates drag, beat and stab a jailer before police shot and killed one who was holding a homemade knife to the jailer’s neck at Oklahoma County Detention Center on Saturday, March 27. According to officials, Oklahoma City police were called in after 34-year-old Curtis Montrell Williams, an Oklahoma County jail inmate, took a detention officer's keys, tied him up and took him hostage. Police said Williams then let out other inmates from their cells and then an inmate got a hold of the knife and stabbed the detention officer multiple times....

The White House conceded on Monday that Senate Democrats such as Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) opposed President Joe Biden’s plan to raise corporate tax rates to pay for his massive $2.5 trillion infrastructure plan but failed to specifically address his concerns. Manchin said during a radio interview Monday he could support raising corporate taxes from 21 percent to 25 percent but not President Biden’s proposed 28 percent.

We all know face masks can be troublesome to wear. They can irritate your skin, hurt your ears and fog up your glasses. That's why the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has launched the $500,000 "Mask Innovation Challenge" to find new and effective masks people will find more comfortable to wear. Contest participants have until April 21 to submit innovative ideas that would help eliminate common concerns that come with wearing masks while making sure they effectively protect against the coronavirus. More than 165 million vaccines have been administered in the United States so far, according to the...

According to the California Department of Public Health, people will be required to get a COVID-19 test or show proof of being fully vaccinated to attend an indoor reception, meeting, or conference beginning April 15. Counties in the red tier, like San Diego County, can host up to 50 people outdoors. Capacity increases to 200 if guests are tested for COVID-19 or show proof of being fully vaccinated. And if the event is indoors, all guests, up to 100 people, are required to be tested or fully vaccinated. Capacity increases after each less restrictive tier. "People still need to hold...

After over three decades of Microsoft Windows success, there have been some clear failures along the way. With that in mind, we’ve picked the six worst versions of Windows. All of these made us want to stick to older, better versions of Windows, or use alternatives like Macs or Linux instead. The Ranking Criteria Most of us know a bad version of Windows when we see it. Maybe we’ve experienced personal pain in wrestling with its bugs, or lost time reinstalling it over and over again, or heard stories about how often it’s crashed. In developing this list, we considered...

A new method being used for the first time by the U.S. Census Bureau to protect people’s privacy in 2020 census data could hamper voting rights enforcement and make it harder for congressional and legislative districts to have equal populations, according to a report from two leading civil rights groups. In test data, the method known as “differential privacy” made smaller counties appear to have more people than they actually did at the expense of more populous counties. It also made counties appear more homogenous than they really are where clear majorities of people have a specific race or ethnic...

Gov. Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas vetoed a bill on Monday that would make it illegal for transgender minors to receive gender-affirming medication or surgery — a rare Republican rejection of the growing conservative effort to restrict transgender people’s health care and participation in society. The Arkansas State Legislature could override Mr. Hutchinson’s veto of the bill, known as H.B. 1570. Republicans hold large majorities in both chambers and passed the bill last month with mostly party-line votes: 70-22 in the House and 28-7 in the Senate. “I was told this week that the nation is looking at Arkansas because I...
