Lots of media chatter happening today about the dramatic fall in COVID-19 infection and hospitalization rates since the first of the year It seems the vaccines that were fast-tracked by the Trump Administration are proving even more effective than first thought, thanks to the rapid distribution and administering program implemented by the Trump team, which had more than 1 million doses being delivered every day by the time China Joe Biden was installed into the presidency. That reality, combined with the build-up of herd immunity in the country is now leading to a dramatic drop in the infection, hospitalization and...

At Griddy, transparency has always been our goal. We know you are angry and so are we. Here’s what’s been going down: On Monday evening the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) cited its “complete authority over ERCOT” to direct that ERCOT set pricing at $9/kWh until the grid could manage the outage situation after being ravaged by the freezing winter storm. Under ERCOT's market rules, such a pricing scenario is only enforced when available generation is about to run out (they usually leave a cushion of around 1,000 MW). This is the energy market that Griddy was designed...

While Iran is mired in a social, economic, and political quagmire due to widespread and systematic corruption and its officials’ incompetence, the regime’s leaders are knocking on every door to find a way out of this situation. The regime’s Supreme Leader Khamenei and President Rouhani, who faced sanctions from the Trump administration and have been under severe economic pressure, had invested on US elections, hoping that with US President Biden’s victory, he would immediately return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and lift sanctions, and release Iran’s blocked funds so that the clerics could once again sell oil...

Right now, one of the biggest threats to our Second Amendment rights doesn’t come from Congress, but from the financial industry. Banks are cutting ties with gun stores and manufacturers unless they comply with certain insane rules that have no basis in reality but lets the CEO of the bank get invited to certain parties. To make matters worse, pretty much everyone needs banking of some type. It’s how the world operates these days. So how, as gun rights supporters, can we navigate the waters of the activist financial industry? Luckily one group is helping with that, though I don’t...

President Joe Biden on Friday said the U.S. commitment to the NATO alliance was "unshakeable" and promised to observe the principle that an attack on one member was an attack on all.His statement was at odds with his predecessor, Donald Trump, who called the 30-member alliance outdated and at one point suggested Washington could withdraw."The United States is fully committed to our NATO alliance, and I welcome your growing investment in the military capabilities that enable our shared defenses," Biden told an online session of the Munich Security Conference.

Knowing Michigan’s weather, DTE makes sure the equipment is able to handle temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius... Knowing Michigan’s weather, he said DTE equipped their wind turbines across the state with what are called “cold weather adaption packages.” He said that provides heat in the turbine to prevent them from freezing up and failing to operate. Almost exactly two years ago, in 2019, Michiganders dealt with a Polar Vortex that brought bitter, cold and record temperatures. While the situation was certainly not as drastic as what our neighbors to the south are experiencing, energy companies did ask their...

OUR WASHINGTON DISPATCHES. WASHINGTON, Tuesday, Feb. 19. Mr. FENTON, of New-York, in the House, this morning, submitted a resolution, which he gave notice he should call up at the earliest moment, as a substitute for the report of the Committee of Thirty-three. It has many supporters, and is understood to be agreeable to a large portion of the Republicans. If a vote can be reached it will probably receive all the Republican votes, and two or three from the Border States. The Peace Conference had another five-hour session to-day. An animated discussion occurred, as on yesterday, with no result. A...

The progressive wing of the party has a long and varied list of things they want to get done with their newfound congressional majorities — tackling areas ranging from climate change to immigration to health care to voting rights to even adding states, among many others. Scrapping or otherwise reforming the Senate filibuster would likely be necessary to get many of these done. And some argue that if Democrats want to keep their narrow congressional majorities in 2022, they need to get as much of this done as possible.

Joe Biden is on track to smash another of Barack Obama’s records. If Mr Biden takes office, he will have set a new low for the percentage of counties won by a successful US presidential candidate – just 15 per cent. The former Democratic Vice President appears to have secured an electoral college victory with just 477 out of the country’s 3143 counties and county-equivalents. Hillary Clinton, in her failed 2016 run, won 472 counties. Former President Obama ushered in the previous low in 2012, winning re-election with just 689 counties, or 22 per cent – breaking his own record...

When I attended last year’s White House Black History Month reception, it appeared few of us took note that it was the 50th anniversary of such observances. Then George Floyd and Black Lives Matter happened, seemingly changing things forever—particularly a reevaluation of the black experience. Concerted efforts to commemorate black history go back almost a century. In 1926, black historian Carter G. Woodson designated the second week in February as “Negro History Week.” He selected the days between the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln on the 12th and Frederick Douglass on the 20th.

Reacting to Democrats who had a fit over the fact she has guns in her home, a Colorado congresswoman says her colleagues across the aisle are "too busy mocking the Constitution" to get their work done. The reaction from U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., came after a virtual hearing that disintegrated into a diatribe against the Second Amendment, which, Boebert pointed out, is part of the Constitution that Democrats swore an oath to uphold. "Rather than having a productive debate about policy … Democrats were too busy mocking the Constitution and disrespecting the everyday Americans that I was elected to...

This week, conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh passed away at the age of 70 from complications related to lung cancer. His show aired on almost 600 radio stations and reached tens of millions of listeners every week. Indeed, there has been no shortage of outstanding tributes to the undisputed king of talk radio from conservative pundits and commentators. However, as someone who came of age politically in the 1990s, I have some insight about how Rush Limbaugh had a truly profound impact on the political thinking of countless Generation X conservatives like myself. I graduated high school in...
