The New York Stock Exchange said it no longer plans to delist three Chinese telecommunications giants. In a late Monday statement, the NYSE said it dropped the plans after "further consultation with relevant regulatory authorities in connection with Office of Foreign Assets Control." Hong Kong-listed shares of China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom rallied after news of the reversal. The announcement comes after the NYSE said on Dec. 31 that it would move to delist American depositary shares of China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom. The exchange had originally planned to drop those listings in order to comply...

Republican state senators in Georgia started a push on Monday to delay the Jan. 6 counting of electoral votes. At least a dozen have signed a letter directed to Vice President Mike Pence asking him to officially delay the count—and the number is still growing. “There’s about 16 or 18 of us now that signed this letter to the Vice President … asking him to delay the electoral vote for 10 to 12 days,” Sen. Brandon Beach told The Epoch Times. “We were going to get it to him tomorrow morning,” Beach said, adding that more Senators might still sign...

WASHINGTON, D.C.—In light of recent events, Biden has updated his COVID plan to include not just a mask mandate, but a mask womandate as well. In a prepared statement given to his nurse and posted on Twitter, the completely legitimate and unquestioned president-elect apologized for the sexist language in his plan. "Listen folks-- we all make mistakes. I realized this morning that my COVID plan includes a mask mandate, but not a womandate. I have amended and also awomended my plan to include a mask womandate," Biden read off his teleprompter. "We will also be adding a mask non-binarydate, a...

President Trump is jeopardizing the Republican Party’s chances of keeping both Senate seats from Georgia by trying to overturn the election results, a top GOP-aligned pollster claims. Frank Luntz said that it is possible incumbent Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue could lose their January 5 runoff elections because Trump’s calling into question the integrity of the vote could depress GOP turnout. Loeffler and Perdue are running against Democratic challengers Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, respectively. The two races are critical to the Republicans keeping their Senate majority. If they both lose, Democrats would have 50 Senate seats with...

Is it just me or are these three creeps eerily quiet? I don’t watch CNN so don’t know if they are still “working” for them. Has anyone seen or heard from them the last few weeks? On Twitter maybe?

A new minimum wage increase will take effect in Colorado on New Year’s Day, bringing wages to $12.32 an hour, or $9.30 for tipped workers. The 2.7% statewide increase is based on language in the Colorado Constitution, which mandates annual inflation adjustments based on the consumer price index. Colorado voters approved a constitutional amendment in 2016 enshrining the annual wage increase in the state’s governing document.

“If you cannot define a problem clearly, you cannot propose a solution. ‘Systemic racism’ or ‘institutional racism’ or ‘implicit racism’ is a miasmatic, deliberately vague charge. Name the racist policy, name the racist person, so we can all fight the racism together.” -Ben Shapiro on Systemic Racism I completely, 100% agree with this quote by Ben Shapiro on systemic racism. Frankly, I think it is something that the right, especially young conservatives that are the future of the conservative movement, needs to keep in mind and accept as the truth about systemic racism. Right now, we’re letting the left set...

For the first time in 41 years, Mount Washington Tavern in north Baltimore closed its doors Monday without its owners or staff knowing when they would reopen. Last week, the owners posted a message online saying with a heavy heart, they were closing the restaurant until dining restrictions designed to curb the spread of COVID-19 are lifted. “It feels surreal, it feels sad and heartbreaking,” manager and bartender Stephenie Moschera said. “Something we never thought we would have to do.” The decision to temporarily close was a tough one, she added. “Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the carryout business wasn’t enough...

Glass ceilings and phallic towers. Mean streets and dark alleys. Road names and statues of men. From the physical to the metaphorical, the city is filled with reminders of masculine power. And yet we rarely talk of the urban landscape as an active participant in gender inequality. A building, no matter how phallic, isn’t actually misogynist, is it? Surely a skyscraper isn’t responsible for sexual harassment, the wage gap, or even the glass ceiling, whether it has a literal one up top or not? That said, our built environments can still reflect patterns of gender-based discrimination. To imagine the city...

New York is back! No, I don't mean Rudy Giuliani's revived New York City. I mean the nightmarish New York City of Dinkins, Beame and Lindsay. I mean the Death Wish and Warriors city. A spokesman for the Archdiocese of St. Andrews and Edinburgh said the ban came as a surprise to him.EDINBURGH, Scotland, January 4, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — Scotland has banned public worship across the country for the second time since the coronavirus crisis started almost a year ago. Speaking from Holyrood, Scotland’s devolved parliament, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon expressed “regret” for closing all places of worship to private prayers and regular services. Her justification for the ban, and other restrictions on the movements of people in Scotland, was an increase of reported COVID-19 infections. “It is with real regret that we consider...

Vatican City, Jan 4, 2021 / 12:00 pm MT (CNA).- Australia’s Catholic bishops are considering raising questions with the country’s financial watchdog authority about whether any Catholic organizations were among the recipients of billions of Australian dollars in transfers reputedly from the Vatican. AUSTRAC, Australia’s financial intelligence agency, revealed in December that the equivalent of around US$1.8 billion had been sent to Australia from the Vatican or Vatican-related entities since 2014. The money was reportedly sent in about 47,000 separate transfers. The transfers were first reported by the newspaper The Australian after being made public in response to a parliamentary...
