Mr Rudd, who was prime minister from 2007 to 2010 and briefly in 2013, filed a petition calling on parliament to set up a royal commission to investigate what he called the "abuse of media monopoly in Australia in particular by the Murdoch media". "The truth is Murdoch has become a cancer, an arrogant cancer on our democracy," Mr Rudd said in a video...

Mitt Romney (R-UT), a thorn in the side of President Trump for much of the last four years, has reportedly been asked by Joe Biden to lead the Department of Health and Human Services. “He is currently discussing the nomination with his family and is expected to accept the appointment,” The Buffalo Chronicle reported Saturday. “Biden advisors expect that Romney — a former management consultant by training and a former CEO of Bain Capital — will be tasked with making the national healthcare system more affordable without legislation that modifies the Affordable Care Act,” the Chronicle reported. “It’s unclear...

HUGE BREAKING NEWS – System ‘glitches’ caught real time We already know there were at least two system ‘glitches’ in Michigan during the 2020 election. First in Antrim County and then in Oakland County votes were switched between the Republican and Democrat candidates always in favor of the Democrats. Over the weekend a video was being passed around the Internet and on social media from the 2018 gubernatorial election in Kentucky where votes are swapped between the candidates and captured live on CNN. By slowing down this video, Internet sleuths uncovered votes for the Republican candidate were switched to votes...

Science fiction, since the golden age of the short story magazines like Astounding and Analog has always had a libertarian streak. For a genre all about individuals using technology and reason to survive and thrive in an often hostile universe it’s hard not to come across as fundamentally libertarian (as much as the pinko writers over at TOR try…). libertarian science fiction stories But with so much sci-fi out there that could be libertarian, what’s actually worth reading and what should you avoid as if it were an unshaven leftist on the sidewalk who’s trying to collect signatures for her...

The study found eight states showing state-wide registration rates exceeding 100%: Alaska, Colorado, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The September 2020 study collected the most recent registration data posted online by the states themselves. This data was then compared...

The network’s numbers were still relatively strong on Wednesday, despite the fact that Trump’s chances at winning reelection appeared to be dwindling. Rival channel CNN ironically performed the best that night, winning the second-highest viewership in the the station’s history. Fox News’s falling viewership reportedly continued throughout the week, and it remains to be seen whether the conservative-leaning network will suffer even more of a decline if Biden is certified as the winner and sworn into office come January.

November 8, 2020 The news media do not decide who the next president will be. After it is determined that the vote count is fair, the electoral college will meet and vote on December 13, 2020. Prior to the December 13 vote, the state legislatures of each state will be informed of the legal resident's vote count. At this time, the state legislatures of Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Wisconsin and Michigan are all Republican in both chambers. What impact will this have? Mail-in ballots are creating havoc in the election process. One red flag is that as of today,...

Congressional Democratic leaders today ordered a formal investigation into whether Ronald Reagan's Presidential campaign made a deal with Iran in 1980 to delay the release of American hostages until after the election. Thomas S. Foley, the House Speaker, and George J. Mitchell, the Senate Democratic leader, said they had designated the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to supervise separate but coordinated inquiries. "These allegations are both persist ent and disturbing," the two leaders said in a joint statement. The ruling came from the Third Circuit Court LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Ballot counting in Michigan has been ruled as fair. Yesterday the state’s third circuit court announced the ruling. Friday, the court denied a petition that would have required Detroit and Wayne County to retain all ballots. The petition would have prevented election results in the county from being certified. A group called “The Election Integrity Fund” challenged results earlier this week, alleging there was a shortage of bipartisan voting inspectors, and misconduct with ballot handling. Third Judicial Circuit Court Chief Judge Timothy Kenney called the allegations “mere speculation.”...

On this date in 1944, the restored French Republic shot the editor of the collaborationist newspaper Aujourd’hui (Today). Suarez‘s (linked page in French) writings (French again) had endorsed the German occupation and called for steps even beyond what the Germans were prepared to take: the wholesale taking of Anglo hostages as proof against Allied bombing raids, for instance. His trial and execution were the first of many suffered by pro-Vichy writers and journalists condemned by the vengeful free French courts for their part in the Nazi occupation, especially in the first months after liberation. The public intellectuals of the wartime...

As President Donald Trump’s campaign has filed lawsuits in multiple states over claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election, George Washington University Law School Professor Jonathan Turley on Monday said there is “no reason not to look into Turley, during FNC’s “Fox & Friends,” pointed out the oddity of people claiming there was no fraud taking place as ballots are still being counted. He advised that the United States has had electoral problems in the past, so there should be an investigation — even though he acknowledged it is not likely that anything overturns the election results.
