I have some cash parked on the sidelines (stable investment) in my companies 401k. With the little pull back we've seen, strong GDP numbers, possible CV19 vaccine on the horizon and the election, it may a buying opportunity, or maybe not. I only have the option to buy (or sell) at the closing price of the day. Thinking of picking up some shares of a S&P 500 tracker fund we have available as an investment at the days end. I'm definitionally not looking investment advise, just wondering how fellow Freepers are feeling about the market going forward?

In 2020, fan girls everywhere appear to have pivoted from fangirling over Harry Styles to fangirling over science (OK, and still a little bit of Harry Styles). The most recent example? Kelly Ripa. And the boy catching her eye is none other than Dr. Anthony Fauci himself. Dr. Anthony Fauci quickly became an icon this year as one of the main figures leading the country through the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Fauci even told InStyle in July, “With all due modesty, I think I'm pretty effective." As always, Dr. Fauci is right. (Although, we'd definitely give him more credit and say...

Cruise News CDC Issues Framework for Conditional Sailing Order Until November 2021 The CDC has today announced that the No-Sail-Order will no longer be in effect from November 1, 2020. Instead, the CDC has announced a framework for a Conditional Sailing Order. While the Industry anticipated the favorable decision, the move can still be described as surprising. Dr. Redfield, the Centres of disease control director, had stated last month he would prefer a No-Sail Order to be in effect until February at the least. This decision comes after months of intense deliberations between the cruise lines, White House, and CDC....

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner (D) on Friday offered a warning to individuals who may try to act as uncertified poll watchers in the state during next week's elections. “I’ve got a jail cell, and I’ve got criminal charges and you can stand in front of a Philadelphia jury — which, by the way, is a diverse jury — and you can explain why you thought it was OK to come to Philly and steal our votes,” Krasner said during an interview on CNN. “This is the birthplace of democracy. We’re not doing this," Krasner added. "Wannabe fascists stay home,...

Democrats are sounding the alarm about weak voter turnout rates in Florida’s biggest county, Miami-Dade. Ds are turning out at lower rates than Rs and at lower rates than at this point in 2016, when Clinton won by 29% and still lost the state to Trump. This is a post I have not yet put up on my blog (https://thedeeperthought.com/blog/) I am shopping it around to web site for maximum publication- I have another good one up at the big as well... The Iceberg is About to Win The Titanic collided with the iceberg at 2:20 on the morning of April 15th 1912. For the United States of America, it is now 2:15 AM. Like the Titanic, we are steaming along in our great ship of state and we are headed straight for our iceberg. Icebergs are elusive in a way, it is well known that...

While the presidential election draws ever nearer, the current president’s accumulation of accomplishments becomes truly astonishing. His many achievements, despite being opposed by every conceivable power within governmental auspices and, particularly, by minions of the father of lies, the mainstream media, continue to accumulate. None of those accomplishments has been more prophetically significant than those involving the Middle East peace process. His promises to move the American Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv, to declare Jerusalem Israel’s capital, and to make the “Deal of the Century” regarding Middle East peace have all been kept. He has kept promises...

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation to the Supreme Court was a “wonderful birthday present” for Hillary Clinton. “It was a wonderful birthday present for Hillary Clinton to confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court Monday night on her birthday,” McConnell (R-Ky.) told his supporters on Wednesday. “Oh, I’m sure she was so grateful, so grateful.”

Americans buying guns alongside their toilet paper and canned goods in anticipation of Nov. 3With just four days until the 2020 presidential election, early indicators show American shoppers concerned about political fallout, a spike in coronavirus cases and the possibility of more lockdowns are stockpiling goods. As tensions run high, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, and other basic goods are reportedly flying off store shelves once more in anticipation of a night of civil unrest next Tuesday. Approaching the close of a chaotic year, in which social and racial justice protesters have frequently clashed with federal law enforcement, uncertainty has served...

"ELECTION 2020 TRUMP MUST GO" This is what the enemy is planning. November 4-7: Ready to Do Whatever it Takes! In the days following the election we’ll continue to come out into the streets every day to respond to rapidly changing events. We may be waiting for votes to be counted or we may be responding to major attacks on democracy. Over the next few weeks we’ll use our Spokes Council process to plan actions that are flexible and can scale to respond to a lot of different scenarios. November 8-11: No More Business as Usual The week after the...

I think we'd all like to see a conclusive victory for President Donald Trump on Nov. 3 before midnight. That probably isn't going to happen. Some Dem operatives have vowed to never concede, no matter what. The news media and Dems are going to drag it out as long as they can. Probably for days, even weeks, until they get enough "votes" for Biden to put him over the top. Expect recounts, challenges in court, violence, riots, and round-the-clock coverage of how Biden voters were disenfranchised--until they finally get their way, at which point they will declare victory and demand...

There’s no two ways about it: The United States of America and its 50 state governments love putting people in prison. The U.S. has both the highest number of prisoners and the highest per capita incarceration rate in the modern world at 655 adults per 100,000. (It’s worth noting that China’s incarceration statistics are dubious, and they execute far more people than the United States. Indeed, the so-called People’s Republic executes more people annually than the rest of the world combined.) Still, that’s more than 2.2 million Americans in state and federal prisons as well as county jails. On top...

An Illinois judge said he will decide late Friday afternoon whether a 17-year-old accused of killing two demonstrators in Kenosha, Wisconsin, should be extradited across the border to stand trial on homicide charges. Defense lawyers had indicated before the hearing in Waukegan that they would call witnesses, including Kyle Rittenhouse’s mother, Wendy Rittenhouse, to try to block his extradition. But they called no one and said they had chosen instead to focus on legalities of the case. After hearing 45 minutes of arguments, Judge Paul Novak said he would issue a ruling by 5 p.m.

The Matrix was a 1999 movie starring Keanu Reaves. Reaves' character Neo learns that his life isn't real. It is a simulation controlled by The Architect. In The Matrix, the main character, Neo, became exposed to the fact that reality wasn’t what it seemed to be. He learned that the world as he knew it was actually a computer program which his brain only experienced as “real”. Once Neo broke through his mental limitations and confusion, he was able to become free of the computer program and see reality as it really was – a simulation. Some of us now live...
