The single chapter epistle of Jude, the brother of James and thus the half-brother of Jesus, was written between 70 and 80 A.D., and it is quite a charge that false doctrines had permeated the church in such a relatively short time. You will note that both Peter and Jude describe doctrinal deviations that had invaded the body of believers in the churches that had been established. False prophets and false teachers were constantly mentioned in the letters of the Apostle Paul as well. Thus, Jude’s change of purpose of his epistle to that of concern for the ongoing of...

Prime Minister Boris Johnson put the UK into lockdown six months ago today. Yet despite assurances that the draconian measure was to “flatten the curve” and give the government breathing room to react, freedoms in the UK remain severely restricted and may yet be further impinged upon. The national lockdown — in which large swathes of the population were told they must stay in their homes and some businesses were required to close completely — began on March 23rd, six months ago. While the exact nature of the lockdown had changed in time — it is now legal to sleep...

One of the prime points of Bible prophecy, at least from the pre-Trib view, is that America isn’t mentioned in it by name or even in cursory reference. (That’s unless, of course, one sees the reference to the “young lions” in Ezekiel 38:13 as meaning the United States as offspring of “the Merchants of Tarshish,” referring to England.) This is made even more intriguing when we consider all that we believe is going on in setting the stage for the soon fulfillment of prophecy. We believe most, if not all, of Paul’s “perilous times” (2 Timothy 3) forewarning is now...

The mother of a 10-year-old highlighted in the story is determined not to vaccinate her daughter even if the local school board says it’s mandatory: Michelle Vargas of Granite City, Illinois, has always vaccinated her 10-year-old daughter, Madison. They both typically get flu shots. But when a vaccine for the coronavirus eventually comes out, Vargas will not be giving it to her daughter — even if Madison’s school district requires it.“There is no way in hell I would...

Somebody call the SPCA: Joe Scarborough has, yet again, ridden a hobbyhorse into the ground! Regular readers of NewsBusters are only too familiar with Scarborough's tiresome habit of fixating on a word, and repeating it ad nauseam in the course of a segment. Scarborough's word o' the day this morning was "fascist," and with a little help from Mika Brzezinski and John Heilemann, that f-word was deployed to denounce President Trump no fewer than 19 times in the opening segment. View the video mashup to see Scarborough's shtick unfold. Get the rest of the story and view the video here.

The Atlantic reported Wednesday that Republicans are investigating contingency plans in which Republican-held legislatures would appoint members of the Electoral College if their states’ voting results were still in doubt weeks after Election Day. Barton Gellman wrote: “According to sources in the Republican Party at the state and national levels, the Trump campaign is discussing contingency plans to bypass election results and appoint loyal electors in battleground states where Republicans hold the legislative majority.” Gellman provided a sinister spin: “With a justification based on claims of rampant fraud, Trump would ask state legislators to set aside the popular vote and...

West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin slammed religious criticisms of Judge Amy Coney Barrett, a front-runner for President Trump's nomination to replace the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court. During an interview on Fox and Friends Wednesday, the centrist Democrat decried the attacks against Barrett's Catholic beliefs, which some outlets have linked to the dystopian novel The Handmaid's Tale that has been converted into a television series. "I have heard your colleagues in the Senate query her about her religion, which makes you wonder should a person’s religion disqualify them from a job on the Supreme Court? Because...
